You’re doing yourself a disservice waiting on a Sanwa. I’ve been using an ASCII optical for over a year with no problems, and the thing takes all Sanwa parts on it anyway (except for the actual PCB).

While i’m sure the ASCII is damn near identical to Sanwa Flash, I prefer to get my hands on latter. I know, I know, the argument there is no noticeable difference is very persuasive (I wouldn’t know) but I’d be much more content in knowing that I’ve acquired what is presumably, the top of the line in optical joysticks.

Note: In no way am I suggesting that the caliber of the joystick makes the player, because that couldn’t be farther from the truth, but if adding parts, I know will add to my overall enjoyment of my custom, then i am 100% for it! I suppose that is a debate for another time ;]~

I explained my reasoning earlier in the thread…but thanks for your opinion, if i ever do submit, i’ll probably go for the ASCII clone. ty!

It is not optical. I asked Paik when it was first listed. I also e-mailed the Zero3 guy and he will not ship using anything other than EMS ($55).

Well Ima jump on that zero3, Any difference between dc and ps ASCII sticks or are they the same?? Sounds like a dumb question but I read that ps ASCII sits a lil taller in comparison to the dc ver. And sorry if I’m derailing the thread a lil!!

shaft size shouldn’t matter since you will be retro fitting the joystick w/ sanwa parts where possible.

Hmm. If it has switches you can dispute through paypal saying it wasn’t as described.
I’m only passing b/c if I add another optical to my collection I want another flash.
