WTB: Sanwa Flash

Hit me up! Please! Someone snatched the other before I could :frowning:

edit: added yellow meshball to title, let me know if you have one! looking for around 10$ shipped to 20008

FOUND!!! Goodluck to the rest, great thread !

Oh no! Good luck.

Yeah…haha i forgave ChonKi though…heres to hoping someone else decides to sell!

Good luck with your hunt Ketchy Kech. If you happen to get more than one offer, please let me know; I’m seriously hunting one as well. :xeye:

200 hundred was ALOT ant it wasn’t even complete ! The most I ever paid was 385 but I had to buy a whole custom stick and have it shipped from Great Britan which was mucho deniro. It seemed fresh and new. It also came with THE yellow dustwasher.

It came from Russia with gLove. :lovin:

Hope you get a Sanwa JLHS-8Y FLASH1 Ketchy Kech.

I dunno, as far as I’m concerned, the stick ConKhi was selling WAS complete. Paik4Life also answered a barrage of questions from me about the Sanwa JLHS-8Y FLASH1, which was primarily questions about the voltage issue, but I also asked him what came with a complete FLASH1.

There were only two ways you could get a FLASH1 back when they were still produced. One was an upgrade kit which included the famous yellow dustcover (though it wasn’t technically a dustcover since it was thinner than a traditional Sanwa dustcover and was made to sit on top of one), the PCB, 3-pin wiring harness, and a rubber and plastic ring combo that was meant to protect the PCB’s solder points from rubbing against the plastic of the base. The other was a complete FLASH1 joystick, except it didn’t come sold with a mounting plate and, due to the fact that it already came with a JLF-CD shaft cover kit, no yellow dustcover.

So again, it’s plausible that ConKhi’s stick was sold complete. I can’t say his pricing was fair or not, but at the very least, it was complete.

How about the sticker and the butt splice? Were they part of the kit or the complete stick?

LOL:lol: He said… “but splice”…

jk

What I actually meant is tap splice:

Butt splice sounds funny but they do exist:

Thanks for support guys. Chonki said he’d keep me updated if he came across anymore (he said he may:lovin:) So yeah just trying to be positive!

Thank you for the information! I had no idea about what what to expect from the full package, or that there even were multiple packages. There is huge lack of information on the internet regarding the specifics of the flash…!! I do have one burning question though for people that know about dual mods:

How would the Sanwa Flash work (since it requires to be soldered into a power source) with a dual mod Xbox360/MC Cthulu/Imp Switch set up? Where would it get soldered to so that it works with both PCBs, regardless what it's switched to? hmm worries me!:nono:

Edit: nareg answered my question. i was under the impression that the imp was used to regulate power between the three boards, so when you switch to one the others are shut off. It’d work fine apparently, since they all share power.

per (akibaharashop.jp) has been trying to push sanwa to make them again for a few years now because there is definitely enough interest to make at least a limited run. i’m sure happ changing all of it’s production over the years hasn’t helped though, since they made the optical pcb for sanwa (though they themselves got the tech from wico) and their own p360 has declined in quality.

Ah, so even if a limited run happened, the quality wouldn’t be the same due to the fact that happ most defiantly would not make the pcbs again. :frowning:

unless they find a better pcb manufacturer…

Well, its not far fetched but Omron could make the PCB’s for sanwa they currently make the microswitches for sanwa buttons. They also made the PCB’s for the ASCII Flash clones.

Also, even since you found out from Nareg . For everyone else…In a dual mod with Cthulu you draw power from the cthulu’s VCC point.

exactly! they should contract omron, they made the ascii optical pcbs and they are damn near identical. also sanwa has excellent quality control so i doubt they would produce anything sub-par.

edit- lol masturfader beat me too it

someone could try talking toodles into reviving his flash clone.

I don’t know for certain, but if I had to take an guess, the stickers and the tap splice came with both the kit and the full stick. I’d ask jdm714 for info since I bet he has this information just laying around somewhere collecting dust.

I know it’s already been like 6 years since Sanwa discontinued the JLHS-8Y FLASH1, but I really hope that Per can eventually do something to get them back for us. I mean, he did manage to get meshballs back so it wouldn’t be too far fetched to hope that he will help bring back the Sanwa FLASH1. I’m hoping that Omron makes the PCBs myself! I mean, it shouldn’t be too hard; after all, they’ve already got the ASCII Optical joystick design in their archives or something so all they’d have to do is rearrange the PCB so that it could fit on Sanwa bases. We don’t need Wico for the PCBs, but I gotta admit, they did an INCREDIBLE job with the FLASH1 and Happ Perfect 360 PCBs. :lovin:

Oh cool.
The picture M K L posted was picture of laurie47.

I wish I had bought some long ago.
Himura Games back in 2004 sold these.
$58 for Sanwa JLHS-8Y FLASH1, $50 for Sanwa HS-ASSY.

Both included the Sticker and and Wire Tap (CL Connector from JST).
Both Kit had same parts, except obviously one had Joystick, the other did not.

One thing different is that Sanwa JLHS-8Y FLASH1 has Ball Top for Joystick (from Himura Games at least).
Sanwa HS-ASSY includes a Spring to put in Joystick for upgrade.

Both did come with Shaft Cover.
And both did come with the Yellow Dust Disc.

Both did have the PCB Cushion thing.
Seen here, masturfader bought from fobi0 in July.

Sanwa HS-ASSY Upgrade Kit:
I never got to see one.

Holy CRAP jdm714, that is some ridiculously good information! Do you have a server or something that you dedicate to archiving SRK pages or something?

I didn’t know about the yellow dust cover being made for the JLF-CD shaft cover; that’s really neat! And the fact that it came pre-equipped with quick disconnects is all kinds of awesome! That would’ve made the FLASH1 an (essentially) solderless joystick since you could easily buy a pre-wired PCB from someone with male quick disconnects for the directions and voltage as opposed to the regular female ones.

Man, now I REALLY wish I knew about joysticks from back in the day! I would’ve picked one of these up no hesitation asked, especially if the joystick only cost $58.00! :wasted:
