Wreck it Ralph: Good, or Bad?

Yipes better be referenced in some type of way. Like he passes by Evo Moment 2k7.

I’d probably watch the youtube clips for references, that’s about it.

Yes, it does have the standard appeal to all ages via colorful characters for kids and dialogue and shout outs for adults like most CGI movies have, but just because it does so with video game characters, but does that mean it will automatically suck?

The Incredibles had blatant pandering to super heroes with generic shout out, still a great movie. If they would have changed it to feature legit heroes from DC or Marvel as talking extras for a couple of scenes would that really have made the movie any less good?

Let’s not decry the movie as being bad, just because it features well known game icons or because it follows the standard form most of the successful CG movies also use. Both Hollywood and the Video Game industry are about one thing, getting our money while looking good, so if they can do so in an entertaining way together that isn’t really that big of a deal either way. It isn’t meant to be some great gaming movie it is a family movie featuring a few video game characters in gaming settings, if it sucks then it sucks but lets be honest this is likely the best shot some of the characters have of ever being in theaters in a half decent movie.

I honestly do not see anything bad about this movie. Like people said before, it’s basically the Roger Rabbit of videogames and I like the story behind it even without all the cameos. And dude, take a chill pill. Avatar for Disney or not… I think a videogame character from the 80’s would react the exact same way if he was suddenly thrown into a modern Call of Duty kind of game. It reminded me when the Simpsons met the 8-bit versions of themselves in the Simpsons videogame and how they reacted to modern videogames.

Trailers are non sequiter scenes placed together with catchphrases and tell little

Toy story 3 trailer did not give us expectation of death and the toys accepting their fate with dignity

Pixar not being involved is a big red flag. I’ll watch it eventually, but it’s not a priority.

Snow White had much better animation than Evangelion

I’m not saying the movie will definitely be bad. That would be foolish; it hasn’t even come out yet.

I’m just saying that it looks exactly like every other generic, tired Disney film from the previews…except with pandering video game characters. Thus, I don’t understand the hype, unless “gamers” are just that easy to appeal to. Again, would any of us be discussing this picture if the dialogue, plot, and personalities were the exact same, but without the brand-name video game icons?

By the way, “The Incredibles” had a damn good preview that distinguished it as being something unique and interesting. Yes, it had superheroes, but they had a funny and original take on them. Not the case here.

It screened a couple of days early in the Philippines. Awesome family movie, highly recommended. They gave SF2 a lot of love.

Aside from Gief and Dic in the Bad Guys Club…

Don’t forget how home boy got access to the “main arcade room” or whatever.

Watched it, movie was great. Came in just wanted to see cameos cause I’m a big fagget. In the end, walked out happy knowing that the movie turned out a lot better than expected. However, the ending felt like it could had “more” to it since it had a lot of build up. That, and I thought there was gonna be more “game jumping”. Oh well, still, good stuff.

Worth the watch, but not in 3D.

Fucking Nintendo…

This movie wrecked my heart <3

In a good way!

Watched this with my niece and nephew, both loved this movie. I thought it was a good movie, much better than I anticipated.

Just came back from watching this movie… it made me feel some feels, man. At first I thought it was gonna be whatever because I hate Sarah Silverman, but it was actually very good. I kinda want to watch it again to catch all the other video game reference i missed the first time. Even if you aren’t a gamer, this movie will appeal to anyone.

Movie was really good. If you liked wally you’ll probably like this as a guy.

It’s probably more whatever to your casual crowd and kids, and it really doesn’t have many strong casual game references outside outside of halo/sonic/mariokart. But if you grew up in an arcade you’ll notice all kinda of easter eggs.

It was really “touching” and it for 80 babies, those that grew up in the arcade and remember that feel.

I really hope it does well and gets all arcade junkies and old heads support.

“i’m gonna wreak it!”

“I’m gonna buy it! (when it comes to home lol)” Yeah - saw this last night with the wife and son. Son of course enjoyed it and the wife and I were cracking up almost the entire movie. Stayed for the credits (but not through the cast listing - Anyone know if I missed anything?) Street Fighter stuff was funny.

I too dislike Sarah Silverman - but her role here felt perfect.

I can’t remember a part of the movie that I felt was “long” or added filler. Great movie to watch!

Well I mean fuck, obviously half of the appeal of this movie is that we get to see some of our favorite video game heroes from our childhood breaking the 4th wall like no other. I don’t know what else people are expecting with this movie.

In my own opinion, I think it looks entertaining and I want to see it. And yes, a part of the reason I want to see it is because Sonic is in it. Because Chun-Li is in it, and so on and so forth. Is that such a bad reason to want to see the movie? I mean, isn’t that the exact same reason we play the ***video games ***we play?

Thanks for sharing buddy

Very fun movie. I thought there would be a lot more game jumping, but it still had plenty going on. If sugar rush was a real game, I would play it.

piss off. You just took 5 seconds of my life reading this and another typing it.
