That would be pretty boss, actually.
Wait are you saying that Snow White is just as good animation wise compared to Evangelion?
Are you fucking with me kid?
hooooo boy…Animation buffs are probably gonna start coming out of the woodwork now…
Looks good to me. I don’t get the hate. It’s a movie, you either watch it or you don’t.
This seriously has so much truth. Being so different from the characters as well(Him being a grapler) made it easy to classify him as a bad guy when i was a child. To this day I say fuck Zangief. Commie bastard
No. You can answer me or ignore. I was just asking you a simple question
Not even going to get into whether or not I like the movie, because it’s not out yet and it’s fucking stupid to decide whether it’s going to be good or bad based on marketing materials.
That said, my theater has the pixel art decals of the characters from the movie all around the lobby. Some, like Sonic, are faithfully recreated from their original sprites, but some (e.g. Zangief) are retooled to match that look, even though they never looked that way. It’s kind of weird to see that.
I saw the trailer…thought it might be fun to watch.
Then they made “doodie” jokes.
That brought me back to reality.
Pixar is not involved in this movie, and this is in fact part of the Disney animated canon. This could be worth a watch, regardless.
The Green eyeball with tentacles was supposed to be Shuma-Gorath but they decided to change it to one of the generic villains in Dungeons and Dragons.
edit: when i say change I meant just the name, not the design of the character. lazy bastards, lol.
Ah, the ever present “but it’s for children” argument.
How is it an argument?
It is for children.
Boobs were also made for children.
Just throwing that out there.
Boobs, as with all things shaped by nature, are inherently purposeless. It is we who imbue them with purpose.
And I imbue them with the purpose of jiggling to and fro during sexytime.
Sounds to me like the armchair critics in this thread are just being overly cynical. Movies like this do have to be family-friendly and clean, but that doesn’t mean they’re necessarily for kids. Gaming is predominantly the venue of people ages 16-35 and they know they’re going to attract a gamer audience with a movie centered around gamer culture, so there’s inevitably going to be some references to mature titles that older audiences will appreciate. Kano is a popular gaming icon, his appearance in of itself doesn’t push age ratings. He’s obviously not going to be doing any fatalities; this should go without saying. Simply being from an M-rated game isn’t enough to warrant exclusion from the movie if a character is famous enough.
Ralph is also set to make a playable appearance in the upcoming game Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, a game that I’m personally excited for, and it contains content from decidedly mature titles like House of the Dead and Shinobi. Just because something targets a specific age demographic doesn’t mean it has to be watered down to the point where it’s completely unpalatable to older audiences.
Being for children and pandering to children are two different things.
Old school children’s movies weren’t so much pandering they just were.
Well, yeah. That’s all I’m expecting. That the character cameos, particularly the ones from ‘mature’ game franchises, won’t be allowed to do anything inappropriate for a G-rated movie. But as the tired Internet cliche goes, you gotta watch duh movee first before you start hatin.
and one of the few things that you never get sick of no matter how old you get. now thats good design!
Forum for people who play video games for money hating on movie being made with video game characters we grew up with for money.
Pander the fuck away then, I’ll enjoy the shit whilst I nerd out thanks~
I kinda feel like this movie has some stuff for everyone. Dumb little kid jokes for little kids and references that only older people will get
shit, that sounds like a Disney movie to me
