How do you know those are the same teams? Or that that’s how Capcom distributes personnel? Or even the kind of resources and money Capcom was working with? How do you even know that they’re treating the Marvel IP the same as SF? What about the legal ramifications with Disney and their shareholders?
Nope? Still nothing? You’re still pissed because they’d imagination raping you?
Fans wanted a new MVC sequel…Capcom delivered.
Fans then wanted new stages, spectator mode, re-balance ACROSS THE BOARD, and more characters…Capcom delivered.
So how is Capcom treating their customers like shit again?
I bought BBCT for full price and it had 10-12 characters IIRC.
I bought BBCS for full price and the dlc characters.
I don’t regret a single cent.
People complaining are probably not making their own money and depending on mom and dad’s humour of the day to get the new copy. Cause 120 dollars for hours upon hours of entertainment is a fucking good deal.
Niggas spend 200 dollars a night at strip clubs or massage parlors and you guys are complaining about 120 dollars for months of entertainment? Y’all need to stop living off the allowance your mom gives you and get a job.
I think it means no story mode that was promised, no spectator that was expected, no jill and shuma who they obviously wanted to be playable off the bat, no single player experiance at all, bugs out the ass, going back to main menu when you cant find ranked or player match for 15 mins at a time, and a brand new disc only update a little over half a year after the game was released means it was unfinished. Even IGN and other reviewers who like the game and gave it a good score said it felt unfinished. I think its a great game, but its unfinished dude.
You’re right Comeback Kid. You’re absolutely right in every way and everyone who’s tried to show that Ultimate is probably worth the price is wrong.
Is that what you want to hear? Because man, it really seems like you’re arguing just for the sake of arguing, and that you just don’t want to change your mind.
Because it took 2 attempts and the only people that have to pay more than double are the hardcore fans that bought version 1 thinking it was gonna be a complete experiance. We wanted all the stuff you wrote above the first time around. And expected it, and some of tht stuff they even promised an lied about. Thats why so many people were bummed when the game dropped. Thats why they are essentially getting a do over.
Its gonna be great, I know that. Thats not my point at all. My point was that it already cost $70 for the first game which was barebones as hell. Now to get the experiance we should have gotten the first time around, we gotta pay again. Reread the first post. This whole conversation is getting away from the point again.
It was finished, for me. Not for you. Sorry you wanted something different, but honestly as far as FGs go, the best play comes from offline play, not in the single player modes, in a well known mode called “vs”.
Again, this is why you do your research instead of Day 1 buy if you feel this way. If you want, you could have also gone the hackers route and hack into the data to receive it “free” as well (a number of people have done this for what content they can find on MK9 disc, for example).
And for this IP, Capcom won’t be hurting at all, because the small number of people not buying because they feel jilted at an “incomplete” vanilla game will be completely drowned out by people, both casual and tournament level, that will be completely willing to throw money at the company to play a “ultimate” version of the same game. This is how certain companies, such as Microsoft, continue to stay rolling in the dough.
Capcom is doing a great service to all MvC3 players by rolling out UMvC3. This is no different from when Microsoft rolled out Windows 7 to replace Windows Vista.
Capcom does it.
Nether Realm does it.
Square Enix does it.
A vast majority of game developers have placed something on the disc that’s initially locked out for whatever reason.
It doesn’t mean the game is incomplete and it isn’t treating “loyal costumers like shit”.
Your argument is that Jill and Shuma had files located on the disc.
Fine, fair enough. That’s true.
But you’re talking about this as if the on-disc content was finished before the game went gold.
MVC3 went gold 2 months before the game was supposed to be released, and during the ‘gold’ status developers aren’t allowed to alter their games. Period.
They initially planned Jill and Shuma as DLC from the beginning because Marvel wouldn’t allow Shuma on the retail copy and Capcom wanted him, so they made him DLC.
It’s only natural that some of his files would show up later on the retail disc, because he was **planned from the beginning as DLC. **They weren’t finished before the game went gold and that’s why there’s unfinished code for both characters.
To sit here and argue that its “fucked up to pay extra for something thats on the disc” is childish because you clearly don’t understand how a game developer functions or what goes on behind the scenes.
It’s the same kinda thing when people were complaining about the “knee jerk” patch to lower Sentinel’s health, and people thought it was because scrubs had been complaining.
No, it’s because they planned it before the game went gold but couldn’t implement it in time, and then Microsoft and Sony both require a mandatory 1 month check on all upcoming major patches.
Stop sitting here with your eyes closed and spouting off how “Capcom is screwing you”, because you don’t seem to understand how a game company functions.
I agree with that, but any game nowadays should have some kind of single player experiance. Trials, challenges, missions, story etc… shouldnt even be a thought. It should be the least a fighting game can offer for a 1p.
Then don’t buy Ultimate. Vote with your wallet. I know you didn’t want anyone to tell you “don’t like it, don’t buy it”, but if you’re going to buy it anyways then that’s not a strong message to the developer to change now is it?
Bad debating, you didn’t include tax on uvmc3 but you did on cod and madden? Don’t tell people to get worked up when you have a clear bias.
Anyways, imo forty bucks isn’t a big deal. I make shit ($7.50/hour), and this is still the tinest sliver of my paycheck. I think its funny that people think that capcom is going to lower the price of something to have company pride or some bullshit like that. So many people are going to buy this game, thats a fact. That means capcom is at the right selling point regardless if you think you are getting ripped off. Remember, there is no such thing as a selfless act…
This whole forum seems pointless to me, i don’t think anyone is going to have a revelation about getting this game after reading “Would you pay $40 for a game with 12 characters and 8 stages?” Obviously not but there are actually going to be 50 characters, 16 stages. From my perspective every street fighter that comes out can be looked at as an update of previous games. For god sake they have been using mostly the same cast since the series began. How is this different? New characters better engine**(period)**
So you’re basing your argument on the belief that Capcom KNEW that MvC3 would be profitable from the get go and hence hatched a master plan to milk fans wallets dry? They therefore delivered only half the product so they could charge more later down the road…
…or perhaps that Capcom should be put to the fire for not releasing perfect product to begin with, despite having no knowledge of what that would actually entail or how to budget such project within an acceptable timeframe?
So basically, you think there’s a master plan Capcom has for all this based on the fact that they are a large company?
God damn, Donnie Brasco, I don’t think I can take this much truth in one night!
What exactly did Capcom promise and didn’t deliver?
I don’t remember them promising spectator mode in the original…
I don’t remember them promising Ghost Rider, Strider, Hawkeye, Firebrand, Doc Strange,Rocket Raccoon, Phoenix Wright, Frank West, Nova, Iron Fist, Nemesis, Virgil in the original…
UMVC3 is an addon and adjustment to the game…not a fucking do over.
If it was a do-over, it wouldn’t be out so quickly.
Also, you conveniently glossed over blazblue somehow lol. People spent 60$ for a game with 10-12 characters which was way deeper than some games with 3X characters, so yeah, people will spend over 40$ for a huge update to something they enjoy that is supposed to make them enjoy it more.
