all the umvc3 roster is better than stupid ass ms marvel and megaman. deal with it.
To be fair, that’s probably because CT already had these “extras” UMvC 3 is boasting to have from the start.
Complete story mode, lobbies + spectating, working netcode, etc.
Geez… You really… love ellipsis… it’s as if you… can’t really complete a thought so… you just trail off and mash on period…
…
…yeah
If it was a game i liked yes. MvC3, no.
What worries me is that Capcom is following the same model that failed them in the 90s. SFIIWW on SNES sold over 6 million copies and every game after that sold less and less until they decided to say fuck that genre and left. I’m not sure that following the same business practices will end in a different result. What happens to the community, which is so very Capcom-centric, when that happens?
well, in 1992 I payed 79.99 for a copy of World warrior which had only 8 playable characters. ($128.69 in 2011)
then in 1993 I payed 79.99 for a copy of turbo which had 12 playable characters. ($124.95) in 2011)
so i honestly think this argument is fucking stupid. WAH WAH WAH!
Why did you buy it at 79.99?
Even at 11 I knew a scam when I saw one.
You’re just saying you have a history of poor purchasing decisions.

Man that’s not what happened. I wish people would stop spreading this misinformation. There are a LOT of things that contributed to the decline in the fighting game genres popularity but it wasn’t the just the updates.
Also, there is much difference in the way Capcom is handling updates today as opposed to the way they handled them in 90s. The strategy they are using tody is clearly different so I don’t think this should net them the same old results. Capcom has a bad reputation though so might happen anyways.
Doesn’t this community pay $100-200 for a large controller that could help improve playing competitively? Just saying.
Yes. I would buy the game without the characters if half of what they’re advertising regarding balance/online play holds true. It’s a fun game, just kinda broken as fuck. If UMvC3 is broken as damn or maybe shit, but less broken as fuck, it’ll be worth the $40 to me.
Don’t really care about the stages if they look like that damn SHIELD carrier. Kattelox island without fireworks seems ok though!
I’ll buy it because I liked Vanilla with all its flaws and missing features. It’s a fun game to me. But I do believe that it’s too soon for a new disc version to come out. I’ll make this purchase because I want to support a developer that makes games that I enjoy. If there is another MvC3, though, after another 9 months then I’ll have to think really hard about that one. I can go behind the idea that Capcom might (big might) have wanted to test the waters by releasing Vanilla in such an unfinished state but I won’t find it acceptable a second time. One of the key features I believe any game, with multiplayer as its core, should have is expandability and Vanilla clearly didn’t have enough of it. I’m hoping UMvC3 will bring this to the table (if they plan on updating so frequently).
Can all of us just do ourselves a solid and not pay any attention to this guy? Wasting energy on an idiot is the very definition of pointless.
DD, 6DD, 2DD, jD a2D, xj, aD a2D. I win!!!
I’m starting to see a pattern here. Every single poster that is hating on this… mainly play online…
It’s only a poor purchasing decision if it the consumer perceives it as one. Standards by which one gets their money’s worth differs from consumer to consumer.
People pimp out their cars or buy clothes for their dogs. It’s something they enjoy spending money doing, not everyone else has to enjoy it.
BBCT also had an arcade release to fund and build upon, didn’t need to pay Marvel for licensing, or was being made by a company working on 5-10 titles simultaneously.
I wanna see a chart that rates game balance in this fashion.
I’ll be glad to see some new stages, but my God, that SHIELD stage is distracting as fuck.
Yeah, IDK if most of my friends don’t have respect for ourselves but we’ll throw down 100$ on an arcade stick (only need one), throw down 60$ on a game, just throw money at entertainment, we work hard, we’re adults, and these are things we can afford. The amount of money it takes to make mcv3 and mvc2 are leagues apart. Mvc2 had all these reused sprites not even HD and mvc3 has models and voice actors and etc. Hell yeah i’ll throw 40$ at Capcom for giving me all this playtime…
I understand why people are upset (b/c it came so soon, but I’m hype for strider and want him asap pause) but if mvc3 is incomplete and it’s this fun, imagine how much fun umvc3 will be. Lets be real, madden, call of duty, halo, etc these games are bought every year and if the quality isn’t as good as we think we just won’t buy them.
MW1&2 were fun, black ops was mediocre therefore I’m sticking with infinite ward’s COD games.
SF4 was boring to me, so i stayed away from the follow up games.
Madden 08 was the last madden i bought.
2k11 was dope, increasing my interest in the follow up.
We’re in a tough spot, the economy isn’t favorable therefore companies will do everything they can to survive.
After I thought about it alot and was mad cause it wasn’t DLC then read Keits’ post bout it I am not mad anymore… think of it this way… if you planned on buying all the DLC anyway you would have been paying WAY MORE money … think of UMvC3 as the full DLC Update disc for MvC3. All the DLC and updates everyone asked for in one complete package I mean they could release a $30 or $35 Downloadable game simultaneously with the Disc release (just a thought) but Yea I am fine with it coming out in November … gonna reserve my copy as soon as I get a chance
I bought the game on day one as well, and it does irk me that less than a year later they are coming out with another version, but realistically the only reason this game is coming out is because so many people bought it in the first place. If no one bought the game back when it came out Capcom wouldn’t put their resources into updating the game. Also if you know anything about Capcom fighting games then you should have seen this Ultimate edition as at least a possibility, I, like many would have thought DLC updates, but I also remember thinking I’d be spending another 40 dollars on a better version a year later when i bought MVC3. In the end people like me spent 70 dollars on the collectors edition and I will spend 40 on Ultimate, so what, Capcom gets paid and I get a game that I want. Some may say that Capcom is screwing their hardcore fans, but we are their hardcore fans for a reason, it’s not all great deals and awesome games, sometimes the games are broken and terrible, and their are 4 iterations before you have a classic fighter, but you still bought it and gave Capcom enough intensive to try harder and make the game better, so I say let the good times roll and enjoy the game.
jesus christ, why is this thread still going on?
That’s the real question here isn’t it.
