Hi everyone, i know a lot players in the ST/HDR community are upset to not see there game on the main event for the upcoming EVO 2011. This is why i came up with this idea of creating a poll to reinforce our position and show the EVO organisers that ST (in my case)/HDR are still popular enough to be runned on the biggest american tournament of the year.
So guys, Would you like to see ST at EVO 2011 ? Would you like to see HDR at EVO 2011 ?

Yeah I know I agree with you. Therefore, I simply want to give the chances to players of both games to express their opinion. Only putting ST has an option, would be kind of selfish. I can already see some HDR fans creating a poll for HDR only. So I decided to put both options, so everyone could have an option that represents their thoughts :tup:
ST should be part of the main event in every fighting game tournament in the world. It’s simply the oldest game out there that has the balance and depth that is required to survive as long as it has.
Who cares if it’s in the official lineup or not? It’s been pretty obvious that Evo doesn’t care about SF2 anymore. Hell, the way they run tournaments over the last few years, I don’t think they care too much about any game at this point. With all these randoms running the brackets and making decisions, it’s not even their tournament anymore. I never understood why so many people care so much if Evo includes a game in their lineup or not, like it lends some validity or something to a game’s worth. It’s one tournament out of hundreds of them per year. I promise you that if Evo isn’t doing it but there is an audience out there, someone else is.
If you care so much about a given game being played at Evo, run your own shit. People have been doing this for years for ST ever since Evo went the console route. Since 2005, there has been arcade ST hardware at Evo almost every year. I brought in a cab last year, I’m planning on bringing a supergun this year, and others are making plans too. I could give a fuck if Evo wants to run ST or not. I think I’d rather have people that actually care take ownership at this point anyways.
This thread might’ve been worth something if you didn’t split the choice between ST and HDR like orochi did (Example: Would you like to see ST/HDR or some form of SF2 at Evo). All this will do is show that the scene is fragmented and not worth bringing back to Evo. Way to go.
Actually, your misinterpreting the question. The question is not Would you like to see ST or HDR ?, but rather both of them. The only reason why i created seperate options was to give the right to players of both games to give ther opinion.

The other reason i decided to put the 2 options is because i wanted the poll to show the proportion of the yes that’s all. The point of this is to show if ST and/or HDR are games that deserves a spot for EVO.
This may have been your intention, but there is no option in your poll for people to select “I’d like to see both.” So people are forced to pick one or the other… forcing the question to be: would you like to see ST or HDR … or neither… or maybe.

We all know we can’t bring BOTH games back in the main event, it’s almost impossible. They will have to split and chose between ST or HDR thats reality. Just imagine for a second that we have 98 % of YES, but we dont know which games ST or HDR, how are they gonna evaluate which games deserves the spot ? iF ITS 44 % ST AND 44 % HDR which would happen under rare cirumstances, then nice both games are on an equal level of poularity !! Dont make me remind you that most ppl dont like both games its either, ST or HDR, BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THAT SEPARATING THE 2 YES’S, WILL BRING MORE VOTES FROM EACH PART. Therefore more manifestation.
If we’re talking side tourneys then cab/supergun/whatever setup is fine. But if we’re talking main stage, official status on the EVO lineup, then it will have to be on console, cuz that’s all EVO runs these days. That means Classic ST or Remix ST on PS3.
I voted for Remix but I would be just as happy to see Classic. The ST purists need to step up and support any form of SF2 at EVO, even if they don’t like HDR. The bottom line is getting SF2 more exposure, not which version you’d like to see IMO.
Cool. But I have a question. How do I pick O.Ryu on HDR? I do the code right but I still get N.Ryu. I don’t really like N.Ryu :(. And what about O.Guile, O.Ken, and O.Chun? Once again I don’t really like the new versions so if you could help me I would really appreciate it.
