…They are just cartoons. This is what is wrong with America. The guy doesn’t care of the topics or violence but OH SHIT THEY HAVE TITIES FUCKING HIDE IT. Seriously?
Exposing sexualized content to a kid, especially one of your students, its arguably worth being careful of anywhere. I mean when written out, it doesn’t sound good
Exactly what age kid are we talking about here?
I think he said 13?
Edit: earlier he said “Middle schoolers”, so 12-14, usually
SG does rank pretty high in the fanservice continuum. It’s not that it contains anything that you wouldn’t see in comic books or other video games, it’s just that there’s so much of it. You can only eat so much cheesecake before you start missing things like steak and potatoes and fresh vegetables.
The game is marvelous otherwise. The characters handle beautifully - the game lets you do so many things! And the netplay is amazing at < 100 ping.
It’s just like this video where this fake slim shady looking middle-America teenager complained about drug references in titles/emblems on MW3, a game the developers “knew little kids were going to play.” Like… how do pot leaf symbols come off as more shameful than a game that rewards you for killing?
USA society being more okay with violence than anatomy. Pretty sure he said earlier he talks fighting games with kids and acknowledged that people aren’t okay with boobies and is in no position to fight this cultural belief.
Not to mention that they are technically just *collections of pixels *on a television screen.
That was not my point at all. If that is his main concern however then he really can’t recommend a single videogame since by your definition…everything is sexual. Also…he said middle school. Do you remember middle school? lol, teenagers.
Yeah but it has tities so fucking ban it! Go shoot people online or play GTA instead kids!
I’m sure someone at 13 won’t be traumatized by jiggling tits. I sure as hell wasn’t. Though it might not be the best call parenting wise to expressly show it to them. Around that time is the age when people start to get curious anyways.
It really doesn’t matter, skull girls is over the top when it comes to the tits and panty shots. And if it’s not that it’s “emo” or psycho killer nurses and monsters.
It’s not like it’s just one character or two it’s the whole cast outside of peacock at 1st glance… Even then it’s a 13 year old girl smoking a cig.( even tho she’s boss)
The 1st super sexual thing in my fighters I remember was mia and orchid.
Outside of that there wasn’t much to worry about, went it came to strong sexual content.
But… Panty shots, and titties are examples of immaturity. Right? So what can we not exactly handle? I am confused. I’m pretty sure it has everything to do with that and not the level of maturity of the general population that plays games.
Edit* Unless you mean its immature to make a game with all that stuff in it. I don’t really understand.
Don’t get me wrong, I can very much sympathize, aesthetics are important, but on the other hand I used to count myself to the group of people that didn’t care for Skullgirl’s art at all. It grow on me over “time”, but that’s beside the point. This game is important to the “FGC” on so many levels (finally a fresh IP, no comeback-BS, no new, broken concepts [though I guess one could use that as a con in a different argument], a developer/publisher who go out of their way to come to community sites to get feedback and give advice, most features that a FG released this day and age should have, etc) and I’m not sure people realize. I’m not going to start shouting “FREEDOM” any time soon, but this game is the perfect opportunity to take a stand against the mediocre shite we have been eating for the past years.
But even that aside, it’s a genuinely good, fun game with lots of promise and potential, not something that can be said for most other FGs named in the thread so far- aesthetics can make or break a game that is “ok”, I get that. A really good game? That’s just being superficial. IMO.
Keep in mind we’re not even talking about buying here (at least I wasn’t), but damn people don’t even want to look into it. Ridiculous.
Instead of arguing sexism I’m going to wait for an actual women to say that Skullgirls is sexist.
Once there is some male characters in the game trust the game will get those players who are interested in the game but scared because there is only female characters. I got a bunch of friends like that. I understand but god damn we grown people its not like that other japanese game where you are washing loli girls to get power ups o.O
Eveery modern warfare has been rated M (17+) so it is not intended for little kids. Any parent who buys it for their kid is doing so at their own risk. And if by some weird chance the child becomes interested in weed because of the titles and emblems, which is highly unlikely, its the parents fault for buying them a game that wasn’t intended for their age group.
Umm the prints for the male cast members have already been released by mike z and co.
There will be male dlc playable chars…
Btw Pertho no for nothing bro but your argument about not being kid friendly and how much this is upsetting you is bordering creepy at this point man.
It’s a fighting game where you play a nurse with gigantic breasts with a fetish for scars that beats mechanized lolis into unconsciousness
Yeah, nobody’s *ever *complained about those characters! Oh wait, they have. A lot.
Oh. I guess you are retarded. I’m sorry for your loss.
Jesus christ ehre we go again. more people that need something broken down for them. i said that i udnerstand that its being considered which means that i know that male characters a in hiogh probability right now. also i hadnt received word that they were 100% confirmed yet which is why i said that its still to be decided. im so aggravated right now that i dobnt even feel like correcting my typos and that is saying something
