Load-bearing bosses. Why is it that whenever I finally kill the big bad guy, his fortress has to start exploding?
I just wonder why when you beat the bad guy why they always explode, let alone their fortresses.
Because having the big bad die in a spectacular fashion is much more exciting than just having him drop to the floor.
Speaking of final bosses…why do they need to be angelic or humongous?
Oh I know that (I prefer it for this reason really), it just doesn’t make any sense in game aside from those few instances were they are consumed by their own power or whatever.

It isn’t common anymore but water = death. I never understood why in older games why touching water would be a death sentence.
I don’t remember any games where water insta-kills you. Maybe Mario Bros arcade game, I can’t even remember.

That shit was a very common trope in old games. They shit last upwards to early PS2 games. I remember pre-San Andreas GTA games being knee deep in water would cause the character to instantly drown. Most platformers where water was used as replacement for bottomless pits.
