Twins don’t need to wear the same shit and have the same look. They had different designs in Rage of the Dragons. Could have done that much
Wouldn’t it have not been consistent with the original then? There’d be a whole other group of people complaining about that.
people who were strong as shit before, but suddenly become weak when actually they join you. usually an enemy turn ally, but not always.
Billy can rock a headband and be voiced by Keith David.
Jimmy can rock beautiful long blonde hair and be voiced by Reuben Langdon.
Shit, these games make themselves sometimes.
Games that are overly cinematic.
I facepalmed when I learned Bo Rai Cho was supposed to have trained Kung Lao and company…
Yeah, I fucking hate when i try to walk through a door, but I have to wait for some jackoff to slowly walk over and open it, or wait for the door to fully open.
I also hate cinematics and cutscenes that ruin surprise. Case in point: Original Diablo, you meet the Butcher and do NOT see that shit coming…just open a random door, and he’s there whupping your ass. In Diablo 3, you get a long cutscene showing a speech, a gate opening, him coming out, roaring, then fade and you’re safely miles away. Ruined that entire fucking battle for me.
Act 3 was a fucking joke. Azmodan was straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon.
“DID YOU GUYS KNOW I PUT A DEMON IN THE LARDER HAHA! YOU’LL NEVER WIN!”
5 minutes later
“OH SHIT… I MEAN I HAVE A BUNCH OF CATAPULTS AND A GIANT WALL WITH A SIEGEBRE—OH SHIT YOU KILLED THEM ALL TOO! I GOT A SPIDER WIFE.BEAT THAT BITCHES!”
Just a reminder cliché != something I find annoying.
God Hand had nothing but terrible cliches but I can give that game an exception.
true, almost everyone here needs to learn the definition of cliche before posting.
Which ironically includes you mr game AI hater.
False:
anything that has become trite or commonplace through overuse, a stereotyped expression; a sentence or phrase, usually expressing a popular or common thought or idea, that has lost originality, ingenuity, and impact by long overuse.
(in art, literature, drama, etc.) a trite or hackneyed plot, character development, use of color, musical expression, etc.
Being forced to team up with stupid AI is exactly that. Lots of game developers have done it, and the missions that require doing so in games with shitty AI always end up having the same feel. Instead of having to save someone or something that appears to want to stay alive the player may as well be forced to do the equivalent of dragging a dead body across a mine field while being shot at. It’s tired because it adds nothing to the game but false difficulty by introducing an element of randomness that the player can’t control, doesn’t want to help, and only detracts from the gameplay. I’ll bet thousands of gamers have said or thought something along the lines of, “oh look, another escort mission.” That by definition makes it cliche.
Nice try though, and thank you for playing.

I am very glad that the wall of denial has finally fallen, and D3 heads are now willing to admit how badly the writing of D3 sucks.

All the cliches were purely intentional. That’s what makes it so good. It’s making fun of everything.
Women with GGG breasts, who like to remind you they have GGG breasts by barely covering them up. This is 2012 and porn is free everywhere, I don’t need it in my videogames.
This is why we have the “Tropes are not Bad” Trope, done well those tropes or cliches, help the story/game
The technology for complex let alone realistic AI functions hasn’t been invented yet and probably won’t be for at least another 20 years. I agree that shitty AI is as rampant a plague in gaming as poor trolls are on SRK, but to call something that isn’t yet possible a cliche is just stupid.
Any example of serviceable complex AI you can name is bound to have several scripting issues if not game breaking glitches, given the right circumstances.
That’s not so much a cliche as much as it is a genre. What, you want a 1 to 1 scale of Earth’s entirety or something?
When someone normal like a human gets powers and goes insane and then tries to take over the world and sayshe isthenew. God
Then GASP! stop doing it. It is by definition cliche. Just because it has technology for it to be “perfected” doesn’t exist doesn’t mean that it can avoid the definiton of being cliche. Exactly what part of the definition of cliche don’t you understand?
