:shake: no they arent (well svc chaos is not so terrible, you can play it for casuals and enjoy the time, but cfj is shit), but as they said in tastes you can brake generes, there are will people who will like the game, is only a matter of stadistics

Now I will admit that I’ve never played any of the alpha games in a serious manner (come on laugh at me if you wan’t to, I won’t cry), but I don’t see how that’s different then other popular fighting games. As someone in this thread already stated games like Third Strike and Marvel have their fair share of bull too (I.E. Constant Parry and Unbalanceness) Going from word of mouth with Marvels problem though.
I choose Samurai Showdown 5, it was serious sloppy piece of shit, you get a lot of characters and at least 3 of them can pwn everyone in the roster in like…3 cuts (the CD button slash with Zankuro is utter rape, and not fatalities for you, just big cuts that can be blocked)
and SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos is shitty enough to be the worst SNK and CAPCOM game

It was suposed to pit all the different systems with each other, but it turned out most of the systems had little to no resemblance of the previous games. For example, 3S characters were nothing a like, V-Ism from Alpha 3 was actually A-Groove and so forth. It turned out like everything we’ve seen and done before, except worse…

The reason I like Karin so much is because she reminds me of an SNK character.
Technically SVC chaos was made by SNK, and Capcom had relatively little direct involvement aside from the game using their intellectual property. It was also massively rushed because they were on the verge of bankruptcy, and needed a major hit to even hope to stay afloat. Unfortunately the rush meant little to no beta testing, and the secret character codes were not released till much later, so the secret characters were even more broken due to absolutely no balance testing taking place with them.
Still, even that wouldn’t have been as much of a problem if whoever designed it wasn’t a complete scrub. Why would anyone play as iori when riot of blood iori has the exact same shit and a faster jump/better exceed? Why would anyone play as ken when violent ken has everything he does AND more damage AND a quick teleport that lends itself to crossups? Why would anyone think that guard cancel front step would be okay, when you can punish every move on reaction simply by blocking it?
A chimp could’ve balanced a better game, if you gave sirlin 3 hours with the development crew it would’ve been a cult favorite in kaillera, but as it is now it’s the gameplay equivalent to Dragon Master. Can you say: You are the best from now! clap Hell I could balance it in a day. Just remove guard cancel front step, remove geese/zero infinites, make the secret characters less broken, fix the charge glitches, give throws more range, take away the stupid throw whiffs taking meter mechanic, and maybe nerf exceeds a little bit. Done. Next? (yeah I’m not going into the stupid hit boxes (e.g. chunli’s jumping light kick), but that would take a whole other day in it of itself. SVC has bar none the stupidest hit boxes ever seen in a modern fighting game, period.)

Funny thing is NGBC was supposed to be SVC2…but they in turn just made it SNK allstars because Capcom dropped the logo from the game…and it is quite better than SVC…they toned down GCFS and toned some other issues down…it is not to say NGBC doesnt have its own issues (like Big-Kim) but its quite better as far as what got tested and stuff from SVC Chaos.
^^^Neo Geo Battle Colosseum is a nice game to throw in once in a while. Though I really wish that SNK would give it an “epic” treatment with production budget and values. I’d love for them to make a NGBC 2 with a KoFXII make over.
Yeah NGBC2 would be great if they did it…and now anything is possible…

98 shouldn’t be here but I’m tired of people who can’t even do a combo in the game saying it’s the best KOF.
