World Heroes Gorgeous

Josh, who did you test the a2g throw on?

I was trying it vs a crouching brocken, and he gets LOW to the ground. Also, when he does his crouching punches, he gets EVEN LOWER. Im betting that timing vs him and maybe ryoko are strictest for a2g throw when they are crouching.

People can still search by date though. That sounds funny, my Lien MIRA junk is on the first page of yt, but I guess that’s because there was like nothing to begin with lol.

Yes, it can be done on Brocken and Ryoko, even. It is a bit hard on them, however…but if they actually start crouching then you get free jump-in combos.

Also, wavedashing is fun (thanks again Luigi-Bo!), and Ryofu needs it to get crossups after his forward throw. That’s the best normal throw in the game, in case you didn’t already know - in addition to setting up his crossup games, it’s the most damaging normal throw AND automatically gives him full Hero bar!

I think I may have figured out a way to make people’s reversals go in the wrong direction - Adam, we need to test this next time!

-Josh

You’re welcome. I better see them in every vid from now on lol. I’ve actually been watching the epic j.max muscle set.

So even though it’s a 6 button game technically, we can’t map the final 2 buttons?

That’s kinda…stupid.

I’m more than just a SF player but I find that somewhat retarded.

I mean, I understand WHY you’d want it that way for reasons said about. But if the players are decent enough, it shouldn’t matter, right?

Also, any news when this’ll come stateside?

-SH

I think I heard 1st Quarter '08. I actually think a six button setup would make some moves a little funky to do.

I can understand that if you’re use to it.

But since there are TECHNICALLY six different attacks, it wouldn’t be button mapping.

-SH

The thing is that Hp and Hk are combined by hitting both punches or kicks together. I don’t think they allow PPP or KKK buttons for Evo, so it’s the same concept pretty much.

No, unfortunately, they DO allow that stuff at Evo. Hence the 1-button dash bullshit in Marvel and 1-button FRC in Guilty Gear.

We’ll see how things go at NEC, but I’m keeping it Neo-style for now.

-Josh

I never liked one button frc’s when I played on pad. They really mimited your options for instantly doing something afterwards. Your Muscle makes me cry Josh.

But it’s the fact it’s another attack technically, not a command, like OBDing (Marvel) or mapping throws in 3S so it’s easier to kara.

So, I still don’t see the issue.

-SH

I wonder this then…

Would you allow 1-button CD attacks in older KOF games?

CD’s attacks?

-SH

Yes, C+D is a stronger normal that knocks the opponent down. Some have extremely high priority and play an important role in the game (coughcoughCHRIScoughcough). So yes, it’s similar to the World Heroes example, and they even gave these attacks their own button in XI.

but that is a command, not an attack.

Though they are TECHNICALLY the same, how they are executed is differently.

Dashing is a command so shortcutting lp+hp to something is bogus.
Throwing is a command so shortcutting LP+LK is bogus.

pressing a weak+medium to get a fierce ATTACK though, it’s a command it’s still a standard attack.

Though I KNOW what you’re trying to say, I don’t agree with it, cause technically WH has 6 attacks, not 4. While KOF has 4 and Multiple Command attacks. So no, I wouldn’t allow the CD shortcut. But in KOFXI since it was gave it’s own button, it no longer becomes a shortcut, but XI down, no, I wouldn’t allow it.

-SH

Alright, Josh vs. Goukisan playlist finally complete! And now it’s off to bed, THANK GAWD…

-Josh

Hell no I dont allow one button CD attacks in older KOFs…

Press C+D…

It aint hard…

It is a command, Stuart. Your hard attacks are meant to be a 2 button press in this game. Throwing is also done with HP, so you are shortcutting throws as well if you allow 6 buttons.

This game is a 4 button game. In an arcade, there are only 4 buttons… I think the players running the tournaments have spoken for now on the issue. Id just adjust to playing it with 4 buttons. Should take you all of 20 minutes to get used to.

Yeah adding an extra button like C+D when it aint in the game and also making HP and HK as buttons is not something I want to do for the tournaments…

Not at all…

KOFXI has an E button…that is entirely different…

But making C+D for all the older KOFs? Hell no…too scrubby…if you can’t press C+D something’s wrong…

And if you cant press LP+MP or LK+MK something is wrong…

i get where pad players ae coming from. its not that they cant press wp+mp… its that they cant do it with thier thumbs. DG is a pad player, however, and he seems to be able to handle whp just fine. he walked all over everyone but me and josh until people started learning this game.
