Working Overtime: The C.Viper Technical Thread

This thread saved my life, thanks!

As someone new to C. Viper this thread is very useful thanks. I have a request on Technicals - could someone go over how to do the thunder knuckle cancel loop. I got it twice but I have no consistency at all on doing it. Thanks!

I’ll do that when I get the time. Are you talking about canceling thunderknuckle on hit? or heavy thunderknuckle TK normal cancels?

From the Combo thread:

Their are a couple bad things about what you’re trying to train on here. First all cancels of light or medium TK I believe are 1 frame links. And there is no plinking in this game that will help you make it a 2 framer which could be acceptable. If you can manage to get the timing down all the best to you and use it to your advantage… but until then in real matches it is a really hard thing to be used in a combo. Only one I’d recommend using is heavy TK on hit cancel. Because that one is much more lenient and allows for a good starter into high, high damage combos

Also, it’s much easier to just confirm a TK into and EX TK, easy and leads to silly damage. My rule is to never make things hard if they don’t have to be.

I’m having so much trouble with the Rapid Seismos…Most I can do is two on the left side…And I can’t do any reps when I’m on the right side lol

Yeah. There is a rhythmic break from 2 to 3 seismos. the first 2 are always the easiest. Everything after is the real hard seismos. I’d practice not trying to get the most you possibly can, but try doing only 3. Getting over 2 to 3 is IMO not too hard but you need to learn how to do it right to obviously go any further. The hardest part about Rapid seismo is everything after 3.

For me there was 1, 2, 3, 7, doesn’t matter.

I see he rapid seismo as a quicker ahvb. its easy to the 3rd, but i had trouble yesterday getting to 5. 2 rapid seismos are cake. Viper ball is troublesome on 2p side for me

I just got the rapid seismo up to 2 down pat. After that, forget it.

Now to level up my Viper…with a lot of practice.

For rapid seismos, is there any advantage to learning the regular way (seismo, neutral, TK seismo)? I can do rapid seismos with the shortcut, but I can’t seem to do it as fast as Marlinpie who does the regular motion. Do I just need practice or is it worth it to learn the regular input?

Shortcut?

I have done it with just a series of TK motions 623A>6239A>6239A, but it is very, very hard, and slow.

Most people (all people), use this method, 62369A>2369A>2369A, this is much easier and you can go much faster. You basically just Jump Cancel Canceling the first siesmo so that the forward input carries over into the next motion making it a DP to the game. The trick to it, is to NEVER let the stick return to neutral.

The only bad thing about your TK shortcut is in some occasions you will get a TK to come out because you’re not immediately press forward after the SJC up-forward motion. I don’t like that method and I go with what Flying Ve said. 623>6239A>6239A. All you do after the 9 is go down to forward and then transfer to 2. All without hitting the neutral position

Yeah that’s the way I do it. Marlinpie does full TK motions with neutral between each, and I haven’t seen anyone do rapid seismos as fast/consistent as him. Tho seeing as most do the “shortcut” method, guess I just need to practice.

great thread, gottnoskill you body me consistenly on xbl with Viper and you actually kind of inspired me to try her out lol so double thanks

Looks like there’s some room for FADC. That is,if this thread is still even considered to be active. <.<

I want Viper practice this weekend. Anyone on PSN (FujiwaraDashing)/XBL(Dusted Twilight), please send an invite as my Viper needs tending lol.

We could also add the step kick loop. I’d wait for an update until Ultimate in case stuff changes. It would be awesome if we could get this thread stickied.

I’ll make one. I’ve been too lazy to actually write something up. Maybe soon.
