She isn’t necessarily getting out of jail time. The judge ‘deferred entry of judgement’. Her court proceeding are being halted for ‘counseling and treatment’.
She did not rape anyone. She demanded sex. There is a difference.
The men probably did not feel they were in any direct danger from the woman. They had simply been locked in a room and wanted help getting out. These men weren’t locked away for months and forced into sexual acts like the Castro case. They were locked in a room with an open window, not a creepy basement for years on end.

Did that sink in yet? The men probably weren’t too shaken up by it. The judge obviously wants her to complete treatment and reassess the situation, probably to determine if she needs to be incarcerated on psychiatric terms. If she’s not fit to remain in public she will probably lose at least some elements of her freedom.
Considering the likelihood of mental illness in this case, I’d say that’s a good call.

Best case scenario the women won’t press charges against you and you’ll display enough reasons so that your mental condition might be questioned. You could do this by assaulting hospital workers like the woman in this story. I’m sure if you did that the judge would probably hold off on judgement until you received a proper psychiatric diagnosis.
At that point you’d be judged on your fitness to stand trial of any remaining charges. If you were considered to be a significant threat to yourself or others you’d be imprisoned in a psych facility until you were deemed fit for release.
In other words it’d probably play out a lot like this scenario. I bet we could even get some sensationalist news stories to rile up feminist forums.
Ah, reductionist logic. I never said we should do nothing. If someone is being intimidated to not press charges most legal professionals will push for them to do the right thing and take any necessary precautions to keep the plaintiff safe.
But ultimately at the end of the day it’s the freedom of the plaintiff to press charges. The article never mentions the reasons behind why the men utilized their freedom in that way. Maybe they were intimidated? Maybe they were old friends? Maybe they recognized she held no real threat to them? Maybe they felt she was just crazy and needed help?
Maybe you shouldn’t assume the men were coerced?
