I think it was less about Tekken and more about how she probably thought he was trying to harass her. Regardless of intent, I can see how it can easily be misconstrued.
I highly doubt that woman actually felt as if she was being “harassed” to any extent. If that was the case, a simple response saying anything along the lines of “Leave me alone” would have sufficed and it would have ended there. But she did no such thing. And to then screen cap these messages and show them to his boss in an attempt to get him into some sort of trouble; the only motive driving her actions was spite.
I don’t think he handled it the best he possibly could have, but this is SRK. I’ve seen worse from mods, for christ’s sake.
Are we certain this is all there is to the story? His actions weren’t the best but it seems a bit much to fire him, unless this is seen as another strike against his name next to the Chris G incident.
So…
All of that hitting Chris G with the arcade stick was because…he misheard a comment that was directed at someone else?
I’m sorry, but that is sadly LOL-worthy.
By the way, after that crazy bit of attacking someone, how come he was not fired?
I’m thinking that incident already put a big enough black mark against him, and all it took was one more little bit of mess for him to be gotten rid of…
Getting upset because someone said “fuck tekken” is a joke. Every person who only plays 2D games says “fuck tekken” and “tekken isn’t a real game” don’t like it? Prove them wrong, go to events, play your game, support your game, grow the community for your game.
FINDING SOMEONE WHO DIDN’T GET YOUR JOKE AND CONTACTING THEM IS JUST FUCKING STUPID. They’re not feelin’ your vibe and they won’t be, why go out of your way to connect with someone who clearly doesn’t connect with you? It’s not worth it, don’t try to find them.
This guy seems pretty volatile with this whole chrisG, so this could just be an excuse to retire a potential problem.
Like i said, i don’t agree with her reaction, but i am pretty sure that he acted pretty stupid by keeping joking with someone that made it clear that it wasn’t interested on talking to him. One needs to be socially stupid to not see the signs.
Also, say whatever you want, but the moment that you are working as a staff of tournament organizers you should try to act a little more professional, i am not saying that you can’t joke with your friends or have your opinion, but there is a need to behave with more common sense, specially when dealing with people that you don’t know.
I remember an srk member made a compilation of combos from various posters who submitted them, and Wolverine Master couldn’t comprehend how his own video didn’t get into the compilation
always seemed a bit full of himself to me, but I don’t personally know him. . . guess it’s not fair to say that then, but his attempts at humor bullshit seem to further prove my guess
I agree. To whatever extent, he was representing this site and it probably wasn’t a completely sound decision to shit all over someone else’s game like that around a group of people he didn’t know.
Yet, people are saying he insisted upon this person when what it seems like from the story is that he was just seeking her out to clear up any offense she might have taken. That seems a lot more professional than just letting the incident soil in her mind. Now, using humor to defuse a situation with someone you don’t know is always an iffy decision in this kind of situation, but anyone with the slightest amount of maturity and social context should have been able to realize that he didn’t mean any ill will towards her. My biggest hangup with this whole thing is with the woman, who for no reason went out of her way to try and turn a joke (about a fucking game) into a means to get this guy in trouble. It’s petty. And I feel whoever fired him was petty as well for not siding with one of their own contributors, in this specific situation.
And while SRK staff has a right to hire and fire whoever the hell they feel like, of all reasons and seemingly blind to some of the shit that goes on in these forums, they fire Wolverine Master.
If anything I’d really like to hear the rational from the woman’s AND the staff’s perspective. Because as of what I understand from this story, there’s no reason in my mind he should have been let go.
I think that you are not seeing well what happened here, i am pretty sure that this mess is not about he dissing tekken and she being butthurt, but how keep trying to contact her while she made clear that she didnt want anything with him, from what he post it seems that he did everything to make it seem like he was acting as a creep towards her.
To me he is the one who acted without any form of maturity or common sense, she didn’t wanted anything with him, he went as far as contacting her by facebook or whatever keeping with the “humor”, she makes it clear that she doesn’t want to reply to him, he keeps pushing by saying that humor blah blah blah, and i am sure that there is more into this story than just that.
Anyone here knows that i am the first to cry foul when men falls for injustices because women, but in this case i think that with his history on how he acts and form what he posted there could be more into what happened that justified the decision.
If I walked into work tomorrow and found out that I got fired because i said “FUCK TEKKEN”, in a public place, I guarantee you guys would see stuff on the news about how a restaraunt in Avon, Ohio mysteriously fucking exploded.
If a message is sent and seen, but not replied to it probably means they don’t want to talk. He really should’ve left it alone after she didn’t reply to the first message. As for being fired…who knows it may have happened because of this along with the Chris G incident (if that is really true.)
