Honestly, I don’t really care of what game is played or whatever, I’m always up for anything if I am able to do so.
Heck, for the Bison tournament thing, I don’t play on my 360 at all for fighters (mainly because I don’t have Xbox Live. I don’t want to spend $150 on the wireless adaptor, and my 360 is between 3-4 walls from the rooms, so I don’t want to drill holes or get a bunch of extension cables just to play online with that one console when all my other stuff works just fine), but just for the sake of getting used to the control setup, I’ve been playing stuff like Alpha 3 and 3rdStrike with Guy(Alpha 3), Akuma/Gouki and such.
Yeah, the games are much different than SSF4, but it’s more or less just to get the muscle memory down.
For future reference, I will do my best to try and find a good converter, but this right now is my alternative.
I have all the willpower to go out and do shit, my only hurdle is lack of a vehicle.
I really would watch what you’re saying when you don’t know what you’re talking about. 90%+ of the casuals in the last 2 years have been at Darren’s apartment. He’s really the only person you can’t blame for any inactivity.
Who are you to say such a thing? I know everybody on a first name basis that has been a contributing or regular part of windsor scene in the last and have no clue what your name is. I would be willing to bet that even UJ has gone out to more outings then you have. Even worse is you obviously know NOTHING of the scene. Darren was the backbone of the scene almost from the get go. The man has spent hours organizing shit, fronted his money for shit from driving people around to one time even getting out of towners here to give us some experience. If you know even half of this u would not have made such a jackass out of yourself. Get facts before u say something so retarded.
Darren and Avarice are also the only two people from Windsor i’ve seen who have made it an active effort to travel out of the city for tournaments. And they offer rides every time.
I think people seem to be unable to see the part where it says “my only hurdle is lack of a vehicle”, and that I’ve only been on this forum, actively, for less than a month.
On another note, I went through this whole entire thread, and this is basically what I can sum up:
-News Post and comments about something that happened in fighting game news.
-Uber_johnson says some stupid shit and gets surprised/egotistical when he gets told to shut the fuck up and back his word up.
-Combo videos by Avarice.
-“Lets get together” posts where most of the discussion then boils down to “We’re using 360”, “But why can’t we use both/and PS3?”, “No it’s shit cause we say so”.
-“Let’s try and get to this tournament”, and then maybe 1 or 2 people actually go.
I apologize for saying you’re “a reason”, but seriously, it’s not all about one person, it’s about everyone collectively.
I am completely not saying this out of spite, anger, or any reason other than that it’s a fact of the scene(windsor and fighting games as a whole) that you don’t seem to understand.
You’re ignorant to why this happened, why we play on certain consoles(or you just don’t believe in the difference that is blatantly there), and what the scene was when it was actually thriving(if you can say that).
Also, it’s very easy to spout off about how you would be doing everything if you had a car without looking at the $80 gas bills and $150 of monthly insurance without living with your parents.
Collectively everyone was always lazy in a skill way. People were, at first, willing to come out and play but once a few pulled way ahead in skill level people stopped coming out(just wasn’t fun). I would assume this would happen to any scene however we have far too few players here to keep a collective after a seperation like that.
A lack of a vehicle of hardly an excuse. It limits last minute decisions to go anywhere but I used to bus to darrens at times on the weekly. There were also at least a half dozen times where I went on a 2 hour+(prob more like 2 and a half) walk home with 2 of those times being in the heart of shitty winter one time with a good chunk of snow already on the ground and still comming. Not all would do it but again I hardly consider a lack of vehicle to completely limit somebody.
Which part of Windsor do you live in anyways? Elias lives on the opposite side of the city from me, and he still bussed over when I hosted casuals last weekend.
The only people who want to play on PS3 at this point are pad-bads. True story.

And actually, I use a stick on PS3 as well. Not the greatest stick out there, but it’s called the “KO Fighting Stick (hyperkin)”.

And actually, for the SF4 questions, yes, I have the rank of SG and had over 4000PP and BP with Guy. My PP went down when I started working with other characters like Hakan and Cammy to try and broaden my character range.
Maybe not Windsor tournaments (didn’t everybody else here say that Windsor never has proper tournaments go on?), but I’ve played in top 6 in a vanilla SF4 tournament in Dearborn about a year ago, top 3 in TvC Cross Generation of Heroes, and Top 8 in Brawl.
You say that people shouldn’t judge you based on what you said in this thread, but it’s not exactly easy when you’ve repeatedly said to everybody here that you don’t go out for casuals or even tournaments except for maybe one or two times, and always go “Online only!!” to every challenge available.

You play like shit, your attitude’s atrocious, your connection is either garbage or you’re purposely lagging it for your benefit (which can be one of the only explanations, seeing how we live in the same city. I’ve played with my cousins in Brawl, which has a shit-tastic netcode compared to SSF4, and it was 100% lag-free even while I was testing it by downloading shit on my iPhone. So your connection being so fucked up is no excuse for “needing to get a new connection”), you think you’re some sort of hotshot pro at fighting games when your skill is no better than the average Ranked scrub using Easy Mode characters.

I kinda wished there were more Hiryu no Ken/Flying Dragon games. I think if they made a new one with the N64 games’ little RPG-item system, it’d be quite good.
First off pal, when I was “playing” you, I wasn’t even using my best guys and people in this scene know who are my best guys. You obviously don’t that is why you’re bitching about me kicking your ass. Ask these guys who my main are and you’ll know. Also I didn’t even play Super for over 2 months since Marvel came out and the PSN Online shutdown, so I’m a bit rusty BUT I still beat you. Balrog is fun to play with and E-Honda. How did you like them? Thought so.
