I know I never notice drops or anything either. I wish someone would finally put this lame idea to rest. I think people just find something to whine about and complain about. It’s a system that is used for big tournaments like EVO etc. It really cannot have those issues if huge tournys are using them why would they use a messed up system. I think someone just cryed wolf and everyone followed him like a bunch of morons. Also if its dependent on the condition of the console then 360 isn’t any better than ps3.
Yeah I totally agree with Ray. I didn’t notice anything in the frame rates either in BOTH systems. Same fresh rates too. My PS3 system is at 1080p resolution too.

Console usage in big tourneys are decided by sponsorship and availability… not because of how the game plays on whatever system…and this is coming from someone who talks often to people who run major tourneys, and who has actually contributed a system to a US major. As someone who owns both systems, and owns sf4 for both… ps3 is just a piece of shit when it comes to fighting games.

There is definitely no way I can argue either way about sponsorship/availability for tournies as to what decides the platform of choice, but the reasons make sense. Comparing the PS3 vs 360 it is the whole issue of system architecture and how much more difficult software development on the PS3 is compared to the 360. And when a company is trying to get people to buy their software for multiple platforms, sometimes shortcuts/sacrifices are made to get the code to run on everything in time before the game has to go gold. I have to admit that SSFIV feels easier in ways to execute on the 360 vs PS3…
Ill agree with you guys somewhat but theres also a HUGE gap in the idea of it being sponsorship when it comes to PS3. back when vanilla 1st dropped Gamebattles.com had a huge following of over 1000 ppl for 360 and 1000 ppl for ps3 for SF4 with Justin Wong and my self leading each respective section, until I eventually lost to PR_Rog and he won the season. But long story short 360 had sponsorship for an end season tourny for $5000, and guess what ?
Playstation was like fuck that and we got screwed out of end season tourny. Now if Playstation Wouldn’t warrant a sponsorship with MLG which is obv larger than EVO or SB why the sam hell would they sponsor these tiny ass events. I am pretty sure MLG woulda been a much smarter sponsorship decision would you not agree ? and we know microsoft likes to throw their E-penis all over the god damn internet and sponsers everything and throws money around like nothing so why the hell would they not sponsor these events ?
Given PS and Microsofts M.O’s it would seem highly more likely that MS would would be much more open to sponsorships. so I really don’t see how its a sponsorship issue. I am not saying your wrong maybe your right but given the way each company acts it doesn’t seem like the story fits too well.

Seems like they could address this in future patching…possibly. But I still think it comes down to issues with how difficult the PS3 is to develop for compared to the 360.

I don’t see how the difficulty of the development process has an impact on the competitive aspect of the end result. When my system drops frames causing me to drop a combo, I don’t think “oh but that’s ok the developers had it really hard.”
