Finally got No More Heroes, so much fun and definitely reminds me of Killer 7 in some ways. I’m really diggin’ it. Travel is shitty and the graphics are cool/stylish but the game looks like a PS1 title. No matter, it still rocks!
NMH2 is the better game.
Mechanically anyway. As an actual experience, it’s pretty disappointing.
About 40 stars into Super Mario Galaxy 2. Still loving it.
A lot of the Prankster Stars are disappointing though because they’re really, really easy.
I think that is the one thing I can say I don’t really care for when it comes to SMG2 is A LOT of the stars are brain dead easy to get.
Got around to playing more Epic Mickey. The camera and some of the jumping involved frustrated me.
There were some missions you could take but there are also easy ways out of them. For one quest I had to either find 4 electric boxes to turn make a talking phone work or get a Gremlin to beat up the phone to get the wrench from it and end the quest. I found 2 telephone boxes and gave up, so then I told the Gremlin to kick the phone’s ass. I never saw the phone again. I failed the quest and am responsible for cartoon murder. MWAHAHAHAHA… :badboy:
Another part involved a bunch of frustrating jumps to get to the area the right away, but I jumped across an acid filled pond and had enough life to get to the other side. My Epic Mickey’s a cheater. :wonder:
On the plus side the first boss fight was a lot of fun! It was pretty funny when Mickey meets some of the older Disney characters he was in cartoons in and doesn’t know who the heck they are. Oh and Oswald wins for cutest hater of the year lol! :lovin:
So yeah, love / hate thing going on with the game right now. It’s a solid purchase if you can overlook some of its flaws. Mainly camera and jumping right now.
^ awesome. I really wish I had more money so I could pick up more the games I want. I’m probably gonna have to wait till sometime next year to scoop up Epic Mickey.
GS cut the sku off for reserving Super Mario All-Stars Collection yesterday morning. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-----. This is probably serious business now. I didn’t even get a chance to put a reserve on it! I hope we get at least a couple extra copies so I can get one held. If it becomes as rare as I think it’ll end up it’ll be really nice to have.
I’m borrowing Goldeneye from someone really quick so I can atleast get some hands-on time with it tomorrow. I’m looking forward to enjoying some of it.
I have Epic Mickey in the mail from Gamefly as we speak. It looks great, but the 3D platforming looks lackluster from the stuff I’ve seen.
Why is that? Too close to release? Too many reserves?
I gotta stalk down a copy then. Toys R Us is my usual game store of choice, so I’ll hit that up tomorrow.
@Stu: I’m half buying it for the book, half for the games.
@All: Holy shit, has anyone seen the Jap Metroid: Other M cover? Muuuuuuch better than US one. http://metroid.retropixel.net/metroidom/metroidombox_jap.jpg
The super mario all-stars doesn’t seem worth it. None of them are the updated versions and it doesn’t have Super Mario World.
Recently decided that I can’t stand the Wii on my big TV so I’m playing all my games on the dolphin emu…Low resolution is such a pisstake these days.
wait what is Super Mario all stars? I saw the video on the Nintendo channel, but I just thought the old SNES game was coming to virtual console.
hmmm…I do like that cover better.
Super Mario All-Stars collection is supposed to be limited. I was expecting them to at least do a few more pressings of it similiar to Metroid Prime Trilogy before stopping but that might not be the case now. I want it pretty much the same reasons.
That’s pretty much what it isbut it’s not coming to virtual console. It’s the first version of All-Stars put on to disc with some collector’s stuff on it.
One of my coworkers was trying to say that Nintendo will do another pressing later with the second version of World and I was telling him it was unlikely since when World was put in all-stars they didn’t do anything to it. World is available on VC in it’s original format so if people want it they can pay the 8 bucks to buy it on there. This disc is the only legal way of playing the 16 bit versions of those games on the Wii.
I recently picked up an Emerson 42" 1080P TV with my girl on black friday and was worried that my Wii games would look like complete ass. It actually doesn’t to me…everything looks clearer and actually having my own ‘small tv’ section for Mario Kart 4-player split-screen where I didn’t have to squint was awesome. Colors looked nice on it and today I’m gonna try and see how Goldeneye looks.
My PS2 was a different story lol. I probably need to buy some component cables to clear up how some of my games look on that. Jaggies I don’t care about so much as everything is clear and not fuzzy looking.
I found out the box art is just young Samus all in green, and all the red is a slip-over cover with the visor cut out. Kinda like the Trilogy cover.
Toys R Us is having a buy one get one %50 sale till the 24th. Good time to buy for anyone on the fence about Epic Mickey. You could even partner up with someone to half the sum. I’m sure there’s plenty folks planning on buying DKCR, and at least a few wanting Other M.
I’m with Sonic. Jaggies arn’t so bad (I still play Saturns 3d games after all lol) but blurryness just can’t be tolerated. Not being able to see clearly or read anything is just uhg.
So far I’m really liking what they’ve done with Goldeneye. Anyone saying this game is a remake is wrong…its a complete Retelling period. This game is like 90% new. The characters may have the same names, some of the locales may look similiar in some areas and the story can be slightly similiar in the way the other was told but that’s about it. There have been plenty of times when I went ‘…I don’t remember that happening’. Eurocom did a good job on this.
This game does have some jagginess here and there but it’s generally on characters that aren’t really important…though I couldn’t help but stare at one of the woman from the club’s elbows that looked quite lethal. Generally this game looks pretty damn good for a Wii game. There was some slowdown here and there when things got a bit too hectic. And seeing the shadow dancers at the club made me chuckle.
It is hard as hell trying to be covert in some of these missions where there will be 3 soldiers sitting around talking to each other like they’re at the fuckin water cooler in the office and and you’re trying to take down all 3 of them with the silenced pp9 before they alert the welcome wagon. I think I’ve yelled out ‘FUCK!’ at least 5 times today thinking that I had shit covered only to get spotted by some random guy in the corner. However carefully aiming at 2 people and delivering a headshot to one guy then rushing the other guys shit down before he can say anything is extremely satisfying.
It’s weird as hell not having grenades. I have yet to pick up 1 grenade in this game throughout the hours of me playing it. The AI definitely has no qualms with tossing them at ME though.
The one big qualm I have with this game so far is it seems like the hit box for headshots is wonky…Sometimes I feel like I’m playing RE: Umbrella Chronicles where I have to hit a specific spot on the head in order for it to count as a headshot.
Daniel Craig takedowns are awesome…unless you’re doing them in the middle of a firefight and you end up disorienting yourself lol.

How do you feel about the controls?
Shit yes: Wii Gets Milestone Shooting Collection 2 (andriasang.com, 12.04.2010)
Anyone have any Wii shmup recommendations besides Sin & Punishment?
Anyone know if there is a way to play jap-imports without modding hardware/firmware?
Went to GameStop yesterday and picked up some Wii titles. No More Heroes for $12.99 and Murasama: The Demon Blade for $19.99. Both games are complete. One of my friends refused to play No More Heroes because some reviewer bashed the game. I didn’t say anything, but I was thinking, “Well OK, whatever.”
Murasana looks GORGEOUS!! Easily one of the finest looking 2D games I’ve ever seen. I’m amazed I got it for $20. I’m guessing it didn’t sell too well.
Hey guys i need some input. I have just got my missus (or wifey) a wii (wii sports, wii fit+ balance board and 1 motion plus controller w nuchuck). I have just ordered tat vs cap w an snes type controller. i am in the process of getting more controllers and games for her… What other stuff do i need with it? memory card? wifi dongle? etc??
Can u guys recommend games for girls/women? i was thinking of the MJ experience, 25th aniv mario, brain training, wii party etc halp please!!
That’s exactly why it’s not included. Sort of like how they released a Zelda comp. With Wind Waker, but it didn’t include a Link to the Past because they were already trying to sell it on GBA.
Muramasa is fun as hell. I’m only on act 3 right now but I’m really enjoying it.
If you play through as the Male Ninja (can’t remember his name lol) the sword with the Cyclone technique is your best friend. Seriously. It’s a default sword but I’m level 17 and I’ve been using it the entire time. It has amazing crowd control, adds hits to your combo’s like crazy (which equals more XP), works great on bosses, and sets up for a lot of air combo situations on larger groups/higher HP enemies.
But like I’ve said before. Play it with a classic or gamecube controller. If you play with Wiimote+Chuck you will get very frustrated.
My only real gripe is that the story lines for the main characters are really generic.
Male Ninja: “Renegade” Ninja trained by a top secret society who has been branded as a traitor but he has no memory of his past
Female Ninja: Tomboyish’ Princess who wants to find her own path in life.
