yeah the monster hunter 3 sale is part of a bigger salethat’s going on quite a few titles. Tournament of legends dropped 10 bucks and Naruto CON Rev 3 dropped 20 bucks off. The fact that Transformers: WFC for the 360 dropped 10 bucks less than a month after I had bought it makes me want to kick a baby carriage.
Also I was pleasantly surprised Friday Night when the Nintendo rep was in and she put Sin & Punishment in the Wii. So if you’re on the fence about buying the game you can probably check it out at a nearby GS. I wasn’t expecting them to put that in there at all really and I’m kinda glad they did. Too bad every customer that comes in and tries to play the thing looks completely dumbfounded :(. Then there’s issue with Isa saying ‘Damn’ in one of the cutscenes…Oh well I’m guessing Nintendo is probably expecting people not to make it that far anyway but at least it shows they’re supporting the title.
mostly talking about the 2 dif modes. One is where the goal is to break the other teams backboard. And another will have you going 1 on 1 with NBA Legends. Magic Johnson looks like he will be rage inducing.
Also just discovered via this NeoGaf forum that the voices can actually be turned off. YEEEEEESSSSSSSSS…That’s one big complaint about the game SOLVED.
We just got a message at work today saying that Arc Rise isn’t street dated any longer and it should be showing up in our stores tomorrow.
Trackmania Wiigot pushed back allllll the way to December according to IGN…good LAWD.
Here’s a couple of impressions of Goldeneye’s multiplayer from IGN and GS. The guy who played it from GS actually sounded a bit more into it than the guy from IGN. Oddjob being able to throw his hat though will spark some ‘Who throws a hat? Honestly?!’ comments from me if I get hit by it.
‘As long as Konetsugu the invincible is here, Kawanakajima, too, will be invincible!’
‘Didn’t some kid from your hometown just beat you up the other day?’
Game looks pretty damn solid to me. Only complaint from me is that the dead zone going left and right is too far out for my tastes but I’m assuming that can be customized…RIGHT ACTIVISION!? I can’t remember if they’ve announced the customization options yet.
The new Fire Emblem for the DS took the #1 spot followed shortly by the Dragon Quest Arcade Card game in the 2nd spot for the wii. Wii Party took a dive to 4th place and White Knight Chronicles is still hanging around at 8. Something to take notice of is the usual suspects from the Wii line up actually aren’t here…no Wii Fit Plus or NSMB Wii.
The combined might of Dragon Quest and Fire Emblem wasn’t enough to boot PSP from the top spot though. Hardware went PSP, DSi LL, Wii, PS3, DSi, 360, Lite, PS2 and Go.
this doesn’t show too much of anything new save for the fact that you get 7-8 minutes of the game unedited. Lookin at how the game plays I’m wondering if removing nunchuk support was such a wise idea. Not saying that it won’t play well but I imagine it’d feel like taking a slight step back…like playing Crash Bandicoot almost on the PS1.
Meh…The consoles period are actually in a slight lull right now…unless you’re trying to play NCAA or Madden. I’d rather Nintendo do things this way though since last time they the titles they had coming out weren’t spaced out well enough and it ended up biting them in the ass. My wii has been getting plenty of play time though when I"m not playing SSFIV on my 360 most of the time. The games I’m currently still playing include SMG2, S&P2, MH3, SSFIV, Red Dead, Transformers: WFC, NMH2…and the list goes on even to the games metroid games I have to finish before Other M comes out. Personally I’m pretty satisfied right now…I have plenty of stuff I have to finish up but again that’s just me.
That’s a problem though because I’ve basically eaten all those games now, with the exceptions of MH3 (never liked MH) and Transformers (doesn’t sound good tbh), and I’m about to get started on Mad World (which, I’ll be absolutely honest, doesn’t look promising).
Not trying to shit on the Wii or nothin’ 'cuz I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played so far, but this has been a historic problem for Nintendo consoles past the SNES era and outside of handhelds. 3rd party support is just cack.
And I’m really worried about The Grinder from HVS. I really hope it’s not top down now. I really want another HVS FPS franchise. Another shot at getting the formula just right, and it harkens back to old style FPS’s like DooM and Serious Sam, ones I really really enjoy.
EDIT:
I’ve been meaning to ask…
Is there freaking NOONE online in TvC UAS and SSBB?
I’m not saying you are shitting on the wii either…opinions are opinions. And you must have missed that info on the wii version of the grinder. They’re keeping it an FPS for the wii. I even made a note about that on the front page. I was worried about it too but HVS is in good graces again by NOT doing that. In terms of Wii FPS you have at least Conduit 2, Goldeneye, and Call of duty: Black ops (I’m including that because Treyarch has a pretty good track record on the Wii so far…even though we haven’t seen shit on that version of the game so far. Speaking of this though…have you tried Red Steel 2?
If you don’t like beat em ups then MadWorld is probably going to be tedious to you just letting you know. It’s basically an over the top 3d Beat em up.
I actually tried playing SSBB last month against a friend who lives in the same city as I do and it feels like the connection has only gotten far worse. It was never as bad as what I played for me overall when the game first came out. I didn’t try doing any randoms to see if anyone was on either. TVC some people had lag issues others don’t…the ones that do have lag issues are far more vocal than the ones that don’t. Last time I played TVC online my connection was pretty smooth but that’s been some months…nobody in my group really wants to play TVC but I suck at the game anyway lol. That being said I regularly see TVC pop up in the Wii online board you may wanna try to find some people there.
When I was talking about Transformers I was talking about 360/PS3 not Wii. War for Cybertron is hot but if you don’t like 3rd person shooters then it might not be for you.
Admittedly 3rd party support isn’t where it needs to be but at the same time 3rd party sales aren’t where they need to be either. There’s been some changes to that depending upon circumstances (Monster Hunter 3 actually sold decently IIRC but Capcom actually put forth the effort to market push the hell out of the game). Wii does have a nice library of exclusive 3rd party titles though…there’s been only a few that have jumped ship to the HD consoles.
I played Arc Rise Fantasia for about an hour last night the voice acting is only terrible during CG cut scenes other than that it?s not too bad. Game play seems solid from the little time I played it. Overall it seems like it might be pretty average but if you?re craving for an RPG on the wii this might not be a bad choice.
I was in the middle of eating my chinese food when I watched this clip and at about 1:35 I nearly spat my Chicken Fried Rice at my computer screen. It looks like the voice acting could be hilarious for all the wrong reasons.
Has it gotten horrible enough to the point that you’ve cut the voices off yet? And if it hasn’t reached that point please let me know at which point that was so that I can have a good laugh.
Man…I was hoping I was wrong about the voice acting when I first heard it and had suspicions of the voice acting ending up horrible. Man…good thin they included the ability to turn it off other wise people would have had to deal with it regardless which would make it much worse. Gameplay is at least solid JRPG stuff though right?
