Here’s what I’m looking forward to for Wii for the remainder of the year:
Sin & Punishment 2

Metroid: Other M

Lost In Shadow

Fling Smash

Kirby’s Yarn

Donkey Kong Country R

Sonic Colors

Ivy the Kiwi

Epic Mickey

I’m getting Halo Reach, which will be the star FPS for the season. I don’t really want to get more than 2 of these, so it might be Goldeneye (for the “real world” gunplay action).
The Wii complements well! I am VERY excited about the lineup for the rest of the year.
Even without David Wise, I was pretty pumped for DKC Returns when I heard that newer version of Jungle Japes. Maybe we’ll get a doped up version of Aquatic Ambiance and Fear Factory too.
And DANG, Epic Mickey looks like just that, epic. Slick looking visuals and I like the dark storyline. Makes a nice contrast to the character that is Mickey Mouse.
Man, I already had some catching up to do on the Wii and it looks like even more goodies are on the way. Looks like I won’t be bored anytime soon.
Ahh man…stuff was keeping way away from the comp plus car problems. Hopefully I can start updating on stuff a bit tonight before I head to bed.
Becareful of Sonic Colors Jwill…you don’t want to get sucked into the Sonic Cycle. I will admit though that it edoes look good to me but I’ve learned my lesson. Can’t hurt to keep up with it though.
I’m interested very much in GoldenEye and depending on how well it goes will depend on whether I buy that or Conduit 2.
Japan Numbers 6/20/10
Super Mario Galaxy 2 gets nudged from it’s top spot by Xenoblade. SMG2 is doing quite well over there considering that it’s reached the half million mark 3-4 times faster than the first Galaxy. NSMB is at the bottom of the list and Grand Theft Auto: Episode of Liberty City (PS3) took over the 3rd spot. Also nice to see Megaman Zero Collection make top 10 over there.
The Sony tag team gets busted this week. Hardware went PSP, Wii, PS3, DSi LL, DSi, 360, Lite, PS2, and Go. Awww…Go’s back at the bottom again?
Edit:
That deal ended by the time I finally remembered to tell ya’ll…my bad.
Also De Blob: Underground is no longer Wii exclusive and is coming out on 360/Ps3 as well.
Kirby’s Yarn looks really interesting. Ivy the Kiwi’s controls better be AMAZING. That game looks like it would make me rage hard. And Epic Mickey… no words. =)
Then I recommend Metriod Prime or downloading either Metriod or Super Metriod on VC (or other means). Either way should be a good introduction.
Meanwhile, this weekend, it just occured to me that we may never see a western release of Tales of Graces.
The game is buggy as well from reports, so Namco would have to do a decent patch job along with translation. And really I doubt they will even try because it is a Wii game. Nintendo would be Tales of Graces best hope (both in release and translation quality), but they already are releasing Monster Hunter Tri overhere, along with Dragon Quest IX and even Samurai Warriors later in the year. Combined with their other releases and the fact that they also have Xenoblade and Last Story to handle later, I can’t help but think Tales of Graces will be another Tales game that gets no western release.
I thought I had read up somewhere that Namco was having some trouble financially so that also may contribute to Tales probably not showing up over here. looksFound it. I wish Nintendo would pick it up but like you said they’re already helping out with other things this year. Incidentally though that report also says that Monster Hunter Tri is selling well so kudos to Capcom for that big marketing push…looks like it paid off.
Sind and Punsihment kind of sucks mainly due to the controls. I honestly wish I could get my money back for that game. Curse online and their lack of refunds. I hope sin and punishment 2 has a better control scheme. I honestly think the awkward controls for N64 games is making it hard for me to enjoy any of them on the virtual console. Save for paper mario because there isn’t any percision required in an rpg.
Awwwww…you didn’t like S&P? I had problems with the controls too at first but after playing with it for awhile I got used to it. Have you tried changing the controls at all to see if that was better?
I hear ya… hopefully S&P 2 shouldn’t be too weird since you’re aiming with the wii mote this go round.
I did another update to the front with some other titles…looking at this list of dates from GS’ reserve book it looks like there’s going to be some package for Goldeney with a controller. for 69.99. As for if it’s a controller worth caring about? I don’t know yet but given the fact that most ‘controllers’ on the Wii are unnecessary I don’t have high hopes for it. And is anybody interested in Pokepark: Pikachu’s Adventure? Should I go ahead and add it to the front?
Edit:
oh yeah…I’ve been waiting to see what reviews have to say on Wii’s Transformer’s game and nobody has done one yet. There’s up of it though on youtube and I’m actually kinda surprised. I’d definitely take the PS3/360 version over this game but the fact that this plays like a rail shooter isn’t horrible The only concern I have is that it seems all the characters you play have the same firing abilities and they don’t seem to have any abilities of their own. That and the fact that it looks like all of your weapons have infinite ammo…might make the game a bit easy.
Edit2:
Actually just got a call from Moose at work and he told me the Goldeneye with controller bundle is actually a classic controller. Don’t know if it’s special or not so I’ll have to take a look at it. If that’s the case then that means that Goldeneye is going to have to Wii FPS controls and Standard dual analog controls.
