Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

^ I figured this question was going to come up at some point or another. The controls for this game are quite customizable…even going down to the sensitivity of swings at 3 different settings…Relaxed being the less exercise inducing. I played on the middle setting and while I could get away with small flicks in different directions and for doing the hidden attacks and kusagari powers…You can’t be lazy about attacking armored enemies. This doesn’t mean that you have to stand up in order to take the game seriously ( I played the game while sitting down on a bed) but in order to do the stronger swings you’re going to have to ‘mean it’. Wrist flicks aren’t going to do it and the Wii mote with the MotionPlus will know you’re half assing it 80-85% of the time. To be truthful when I started the game for the first couple of hours I could feel it burning in my right shoulder a bit until I got used to the parameters of what the game was looking for in my swings. That’s from my experience on the middle setting so I don’t know if it differed for anyone else. I also don’t know how the swings work in relaxed mode…anyone try it on that setting that can give impressions?

Thanks man all I needed to know before I got the game.

On the “Relaxed” setting, you don’t need to put as much into it. However, because the combat is so engaging and fun, you may find yourself getting into it to the point of wanting to get more physical. From the way I played, I really could have been one of the actors in the commercials! Seriously, I often took on a stance very much like
http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/106/1068285/blazblue-continuum-shift-20100210115839108_640w.jpg in the mist of linking some sword moves. And it wasn’t just basic horizontal/vertical slashes I did. I would often throw in stuff similar to this . And then when you mix it in with powers… Ahhhh! Awesome stuff! You know, it’s great to play a game that is heavy on motion controls without the idea of “waggle” popping into your head a single time! Wow! Bravo, Ubi. And thank goodness Nintendo put out M+.

Absolutely. Overall, it wasn’t difficult. Two or Three higher difficulty levels would have been welcomed by me.
Tiger makes you right at invincible, especially when fully upgraded.

The promise of motion-reliant gameplay is FINALLY starting to be delivered. Between Point & Motion and 3D, the near future of gaming is ridiculously bright.

Haven’t been on lately, sorry, its hard to get on here at work and it takes forever to update on my phone.
Notable VC/WW release:
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood - PC-E

Releasing today:
Ogre Battle 64 - N64

Thought you might have been dead Chairhome. Also WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase also released for WiiWare today

Just bought HoTD: Overkill on sale. This game is hilarious. All the puns and stuff are great.

^HoTD: Overkill is great. I’m wondering how well the sales did on the game and if they’re work on a sequal or not.

Shin’en Multimedia (the same guys who made nanostray 1 and 2 on the ds) put up more screens on there Wii Ware title. I don’t remember if I mentioned it before.

Jett Rocket screens

The first thing I’m thinking about is…This is a WiiWare title!? I’m wondering how the gameplay is on it.

Conduit 2 Confirmed for Wii:

FUCKIN…where the hell did this come from!? I’m wondering if they’ll put in the ideas that got cut from the first game. What’s still going to be lame though is probably the people who will still be cheating online…Unless they’ve found some way of fixing that issue. I’m still annoyed at them for changing The Grinder’s game format though. This was revealed in the May issue of Nintendo Power.

Supposedly during our Manager’s conference call one of the manager’s mentioned something about a kotaku article that claimed Super Mario Galaxy 2 had Wii MotionPlus support…I lifted an eyebrow at this and tried do a quick search of the website to find the supposed article in question and I’ve come up short. I’m not really worried too much about it because I highly doubt it…I don’t know what SMG2 would use motionplus for but if it’s true it’d be interesting. If anyone happens to stumble upon information that points to this then please post it up.

There’s another Podcast up which I’ll listen too…hopefully this one isn’t ass like the last one.

Edit:

Anytime I’m looking at gaming news I’m constantly looking at the date to make sure it’s not April 1st lol…I find it funny that the game industry as a whole seems to have been getting more involved with this day within the past few years.

Edit 2:

Podcast stuff

WTH?! Part of the podcast was bleeped/censored/had random ass music playing during it. When it came back on they were explaining that they were talking about something they weren’t supposed to yet. One of them mentioned that it was M-rated but I don’t know if he was being serious or not. They might be able to talk more about it in next week’s podcast.

One of them got a chance to play NBA Jam but his hands-on impressions are embargoed but it lifts at midnight on Wednesday. So far he says it’s ‘friggin cool’.

Bought Cave Story. It’s been ages since I played the pc version. Such a good game. Easily fits in my top ten.

I will say, the new music could have been approached a bit differently. I don’t mind most of the tunes thus far, but some of them are grating to the ears.

Awesome gameplay trailer for Metroid: Other M

I wasn’t expecting a sequel either. HVS is just full of surprises. And you don’t have to be annoyed at them anymore: Grinder Stays FPS on Wii.

Check out WaInut’s post above yours…the reason the music sounds like that is because it got screwed up when Nintendo uploaded the game to the Shop channel.

I just discharged all of my bodily fluids simultaneously while I was watching that. Holy crap that game is looking good.

Phew. Lots to look forward to. It’s good times being a Wii owner these days.

I’ve always been hyping Overkill. More people need to play it to see how awesome it is.

That metroid looks amazing. I wasn’t really impressed with the initial press on it. Time to bring my wii out of retirement. God, that sounded wrong.

Shit man…I think a lot of people just soiled themselves. The way how that game looks like it plays is so interesting. I’m wondering if not using an analog stick for this game really going to hinder it or not.

This tidbit of information is for people who don’t have Wii’s and are actually interested in getting one soon (This includes you Knot8). This is going to be going on as part of GS’s game days sale starting I believe April 2nd where when you buy a Wii you get Wii Sports Resort free. I think the deal is pretty nice since it basically solves the issue of having to buy a wii motion plus for anything right from the start. I can’t remember how long the deal lasts but I think it’s for at least a week.

Grinder Stays FPS on Wii:

FUCKIN…YES! Alright HVS you’re awesome again lol. I don’t know whether this technically counts it as being exclusive or what now.

Travel the Seas in The Last Story:

this small update on the game also comes with 3 more pieces of artwork

IGN Monster Hunter Tri Impressions:

This is sort of like a quick rundown on what to expect from the game. If you’ve already played monster hunter and been keeping up with Tri then I don’t think there’s anything new you’ll get from this.

mmmmyeesss…Fire Kamehameha mouth blast to the back. Dude had no choice but to take that like a champ.

Monster Hunter Tri - Aussie Trailer

…I’m not going to get addicted to this game am I?

Trauma Team - Six Specialties Trailer

Edit:

lol ‘I’M TOOO SLOOOWWWW’ again!

Edit 2:

Here’s something good to know for Trauma fans. The game just dropped 10 bucks

It’ll release at 39.99 now

Finished Red Steel 2, felt kinda gypped at the last boss because I glitched him through the floor and got a knocked off the edge kill on someone you weren’t suppose to be able to. So a boss that should’ve taken like 2 minutes took 10 seconds.

It’s awesome that The Grinder is staying FPS for Wii. That top down version looks like hot garbage.

Also, Nintendo Power confirmed The Conduit 2 is coming out for Wii. Apparently the first one ended up selling 350k, that’s not bad at all for a game from a bunch of unknowns.

How’d you manage to pull that off?

@Infini

‘YOU’RE TOO SLOOWWW!!’

sorry…I had to get someone else since it’s happened to myself twice in a row.

That look real nice…and it’s on the Wii.
I might get this game.

Monster Hunter looks amazing!

I?m glad Nintendo had the balls to take this game into new territory. They could have easily made a sequel to Prime 3 and I would have bought it.
