You guys ever notice that you’re supposed to knock the PlayStation buttons out of the bosses in NSMB?
^ nope actually haven’t noticed that… I need to jump back and quickly finish up that game soon before NMH2 and Tat vs. Cap comes out.
Japan Numbers for Dec. 21-27
http://wii.ign.com/articles/105/1057824p1.html
Apparently FFXIII dominated the charts for one week before Mario butt stomped on it. Is Japan really disliking the game that much? They don’t have hardware numbers up for whatever reason. Software went NSMB, Zelda: ST, Friend Collection, Final Fantasy XIII, Pokemon Gold/Silver, Wii Fit Plus, Inazuma Eleven 10 (DS), Wii Sports Resort, Taiko Drum Master Wii 2, and Professor Layton and the Demon’s Flute.
Also didn’t know KH:BBS was gonna get released that soon over there.
Platinum Games Begins Countdown:

I secretly hope for a MadWorld sequal but I’m not gonna hold my breath. RockBogart randomly texted me about a 1up podcast where something was mentioned about a Shinobi game that was going to use Bayonetta’s engine. Don’t know if that’s true or not but either game would be awesome. ( GET YOUR ASS BACK IN GEAR SEGA!)
EA Shutting Down Old Sports Servers:

Been quietly giving EA the finger for by continuing to play your old copy of Dat Madden? May want to check this list out to make sure the online service ain’t getting shut down.

That sucks a duck for them but at least they let it stay up till the end of 2009
EA did an update for IGN’s article on NBA Jam by saying that the announcement will take place Jan. 11. I don’t have much faith in it…but I’m gonna hold reservations until I see some gameplay and know how the mechanics are going to work out.

Trailers made me chuckle a bit. Looks like instead of yelling the stuff they have gestures…Objection pose looks epic. Other than that they look pretty much identical to the ds game.

Contra…but with toasters.
I just can’t believe they ACTUALLY put in four years of work on this game. 2.5 at most, and it must have been on the back-burner, because I know they could have done much more with the combat system and character growth aspects of the game then what was done. Still a good game, but it could have been much better.
So, does anyone play Tetris Party online? I’d like to get some games in…
Considering that I believe this was one of the titles that was announced at Wii’s launch this game must have got stuck around the development and planning stages because I’m sure SE could easily whip up this game in about 2 years once everything was set in place. They probably had a different idea of what they wanted to do in the beginning…probably make it similiar to the 4 player crystal bearers experience and probbly somewhere along the way they scrapped it and started fresh for whatever reason. Take a look at this trailer from E3 2006 and compare it the current product.
Nintendo Estimates Massive Holiday Sales:
complete NPD numbers will be released Jan 14.
Japanese Game Market Shrank in 2009:
Enterbrain’s numbers for last year
It’s 100% official now
Mad Catz Announces Liscensed Tat vs. Cap Fight Stick:
It’ll be released somewhere in Mid Jan up to TVC’s release. No prices yet on it. Since it connects through the Wii mote that means if you have rechargeable batteries for them then you won’t have to worry about batteries and it’s wireless. I wonder if people are going to attempt to use this for Naruto?
I hate to piss on people’s hopes, but that picture is from the TvC Secret File that Japanese buyers will get from pre-ordering TvC: UAS. It’s showing Ingrid and Phoenix Wright as rejected characters for the game.
Don’t worry you’re not pissing. I wasn’t holding out hope that they snuck them in but it would have been nice if they did. If this game does well though and there’s a sequal then they’ll probably both be in it.
Yo. All I wanna say is that Nintendo should sell a Wii bundle pack that comes with an external HD and a sd card full of cIOS’s and a Pirates of the Carribean game. It could be called like the Ultimate Pirate Pack or something. They would totally beat their competition in hardware sales (but then fail miserably at software sales. lol)
Oh well… it’s not like it’s not happenin’ already. DO IT NINTENDO!
Don’t know if its been mentioned, but Yatterman #2 has been revealed as an additional secret character in TvC UAS.
Also, this is mind blowing to me, but apparently, if you put the wii in 4:3 mode while keeping your TV in 16:9, it forces anti-aliasing on certain WiiWare games. MM9 and Castlevania ReBirth do not look blurry, they look blocky (which is better, in my opinion). I just tried it out, and it was pretty noticeable. I hear it works for Contra ReBirth, too, but I don’t have it… I heard it from NeoGAF, and I was surprised that it seems to be true.
Also, Level select in CV Rebirth (for levels you’ve been to), hold right on the D-pad when start is highlighted.
That is interesting…
The Yatterman #2 stuff that Chairhome is talking about is in this vid with Seth Kill that ThaBounce33 posted in the Tatsunoku thread in Wii Online Network section
starts at 8:20
If you haven’t looked in the Zelda thread then it’s been confirmed that Zelda will show up in 2010 for now. I wasn’t expecting that game this early but knowing Nintendo’s track record I’m expecting it to get delayed.

On a side note to that…Iwata also mentions the DS 2 and Vitality sensor games in July

Here’s a little more explanation about the “unblurring” I posted above.
^ that sounds like it makes sense.
It doesn’t make sense. It sounds like someone playing on an SDTV who hates black bars. When set to widescreen display, the Wii doesn’t output black bars, so if the game is doing it, it’s just a matter of game code.
I don’t know the science behind it, I just know that both Castlevania Rebirth and MM9 look way better and not blurry on my HDTV when putting my Wii on 4:3 and my TV on 16:9. Try it!
Reginleiv looks like it’s gonna be fucking awesome. MotionPlus, blood, lots of things to kill on screen at one time, and some pretty nice graphics (though not in the league of MH3 or SMG), hopefully since Nintendo themselves have a part in this one they won’t screw it up.
Japan Numbers 1/8/10
http://wii.ign.com/articles/105/1059436p1.html
Everything is starting to taper off from the holiday rush but sales are still good. Hardware went Wii, PSP, PS3, DSi, DSLL, DSLite, 360, PS2, and Go. Looks like DS and Wii switched positions and PSP is probably getting posted by KH: BBS so next week should be more interesting on that front.
Software had some of the usual that you can expect in the top 10. NSMB Wii was at the top and FFXII was still holding strong at no. 4. Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort are still up there but DS games still are taking over most of the list.

8.0 Alright Nintendo…where is starfox at?
basically like manual upscaling?
anyway crystal bearers is the best looking wii game i played yet. its easy to pick up and play. literally.
I gave CB up after a few minutes. Just couldn’t get into it, most wii games for that matter. I think it’s the whole movement thing and me being mad lazy. I only play Smash brawl with my little bros now and a little NSMB. I want the new Zelda though.
Enjoying Metroid Prime Triolgy…
