Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

hows the easy setting for Muramasa. Is the game a button masher on easy, and not on hard. I hear hard, is insanly hard, but if it makes it so i cant just mash A to win fights, im down with hard.

Alien Crush Returns…what’s that game about?

oh and it looks like the rest of the new cast for TVC may have been spoiled by one of our own if you haven’t heard yet. IGN Reported on it.

Nice of them to give credit to who leaked it and actually a link to his actual post. Looks like Frank West, Yatterman #2, Joe Asakura and Mega Man Zero are gonna be joining the fight.

It’s a Sci-Fi pinball game that originally came out on Turbo Grafix16 back in the day. They remade it for Wii Ware:

Oh, and this just in, Contra Rebirth is hard. Very hard. Even on normal it’s hard.

Japan Numbers:

greeeeeat day in the mornin! PS3 beasted! That jump is COMPLETELY ridiculous! The rest goes Dsi, Psp, Wii, DS Lite, 360, PS2.

A PS3 also took the top spot in software sales (Gundam Senki) with almost everything else getting taken up by a wii or ds title. Monster Hunter 3 is still in the top 10.

I doubt most people care but Matt from IGN is moving from being the head of the Nintendo channel to being Editor at Large meaning he’ll be doing writups and reviews for every channel and not just the nintendo one. I think that’s a good thing since personally I think he’s the best guy there at the moment.

This charger has caught my interest…

specifically because it’s 8-14 hours and it’s the same price as the nyko charger. Other pluses include not having to remove the jacket or wii motion plus to charge it.

TMNT: Smash Up - TV spot commercial

Haha PS2 still going what a good system never had one myself though.

Muramasa - Developer Video

pretty cool seeing where they’ve come from and seeing the evolution of their style up to muramasa. I think they missed grim grimoire though admittedly not too much was really moving in that game.

Dead Space Extraction - Characters Video

still looking good

Spyborgs has me concerned a bit…mostly because we’re getting this close to the release date and the double team moves still look blech IMO.

I’ve been on break from Blazblue playing Muramasa - loving it! I’ve already finished Momohime’s story on Shura, and I’ve decided to just continue with that towards getting new blades and finishing the challenges. When I get to the point of only having white barriers remaining, I’ll start Kisuke’s story.

I updated our reservation books today and noticed 2 things:

1 being that Naruto Shippuden CON Rev 3 is getting a Limited Edition. What’s in it though is anybody’s guess I’m sure we’ll get more info on that as we get closer to release.

2nd thing being that FFCC: The chrystal bearers got street dated to Dec. 26 as of this moment so it looks like they’re at least shooting for it to be out this year.

Castlevania Next to be Reborn:

Gradius, Contra and now Castlevania.

FFCC: The Chrystal Bearers coming in Dec is official:

basically I already said that but this is more confirmation.

Also Medieval Fantasy Punchout (Rage of the Gladiator) now has a ninja to fight…

Edit:

Nintendo Channel Relaunched:

I don’t know how many of you guys actually use this but it’s actually pretty good for DS demos and I use it to show games of stuff coming out at work since there is wifi. The changes that have been made include ‘higher-quality streaming videos, lists of top games that other viewers recommend and a new ability to rate and recommend Nintendo DS games’ as well as Nintendo Week which is basicall a hosted show talking about the stuff in the world of Nintendo. I was wondering why my wii was glowing blue this morning…looks like I’ll have to update it and check it out.

Edit 2:

Just downloaded it and checked it out and I dig what they’ve done to it. They still have that rhythm heaven demo up for download and megaman starforce 3. If they put up a demo for Mario and Luigi or scribblenauts that would be hot. Nintendo Week is basically what I thought it was going to be which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. They did some broad overview of some games that are coming and are out and explained some of the new features of the channel all while being silly and what not. It was actually prett well done and could actually be pretty useful for people who aren’t keeping track of stuff that’s coming out…I.E. most non gamers. That being said though they could also have some gameplay on some games coming out that no one else has…like maybe do something for Super Mario Galaxy 2…I can see that happening.

Reccomendations for Wii and DS is interesting in that it’s sort of prevents trolling. It actually reads how much time you’ve put into a game and it won’t allow you to rate a game if you haven’t at least put 1 hour into it…and in order to rate a DS game you have to at least own the game because it asks you to put it in your DS.

You can also check how much time you’ve put into every game that you’ve played on the wii minus Gamecube games. I put like 871 hours and 10 minutes into Brawl…good god.

So…it looks like Nintendo might actually be feeling a bit crowded right now…

Rumor: Wii Price Cut

some toys r us marketing saying it’ll drop by 50…which I’m pretty sure we already speculated that if they were going to do it it’d be by that much. This was grabbed by kotaku so it ain’t official and of course when IGN called Nintendo the whole ‘no comment’ thing came up. Says it may show up by the end of September. Now stop being a cock tease nintendo and just bring the black wii over here with that price cut if it’s real.

Podcast stuff:

Matt’s talking about scribblenauts…great game but has some control issues.

Talking about the possible price cut and the comparison of Wii sales now to how many they were selling in comparison to the 360 and PS3. When is TGS again? If it’s near the end of Sept that could go right along with the Toys R. Us ad.

Talking about Dead Space Extraction…made a comment about it having more story than the original Dead Space. They’re enjoying it. Wow…apparently if you don’t like the shaky cam stuff you have the option to turn it all the way up or all the way off. You hear that Capcom?

Said NHL 2k10 is surprisingly good…haven’t tried online yet. Bozon said he won’t review it till he tries the online.

One of the guys is going to Nintendo tomorrow to look at a Wii Ware game by Kenji Ino (sp?). Won’t be able to show anything until Wednesday though.

One of the readers asked a question about the rumored October Zelda trailer and of course they don’t know anything about it as it’s still all speculatory…

Another reader asked the question about patches for games now. Apparently patching the game is possible it’s just that Nintendo doesn’t like doing it/ let people do it according to them. You can patch wiiware games as well.

What the hell…Matt mentioned something that he overheard from what the Retro guys were talking about that had to do with the next game and they had to take it out lol.

aaand that’s it

Yeah, TGS is end of September. I have no reason to doubt the price cut.

Sorry its late, but:

VC/WW Monday (9/14)
Virtual Console
NES - Crash n’ the Boyz: Street Challenge

WiiWare
Mart Racer
Spaceball: Revolution
Texas Hold?Em Poker

Crash n the Boyz is a quality game. River City Ransom/Super Dodgeball universe, Street olympics style game. I recommend!

How is Contra Rebirth? Most of the comments I’ve read of it on this thread seem positive, but elsewhere all I read is that it sucks.
I suck at Contra 4, but wouldn’t mind getting this one, but I’d like to hear some ‘pros and cons’ comments about it.

So far the only con I can truly think about Contra so far really is the fact that the difficulty can turn off some people…But I haven’t played the game. Guys?

Played Contra for the first time last night. I can see how some people can get turned off. I played on normal and got beat up pretty badly by the final boss. I don’t think the difficulty is too bad… as long as you have spread gun  And with 7 lives and infinite continues it just takes a bit of time. Also the continues doesn’t put you back on the beginning of the stage (not sure if this is true for the harder levels). Beating the final boss is a bitch though.

Also am playing thru the challenge dungeons in Final Fantasy IV the After years. Those are a bitch.

Difficulty will be a turnoff if you don’t like hard games. Contra will never be for you if you don’t like a good challenge. It’s a rather short game (5 stages) so in that regard people might feel it’s a let down, but they do have unlockables for every difficulty level. The graphics are good, the controls are much improved; granted it’s pretty much always been shoot/jump/switch weapons, but I like the fact that the game has a much needed “Lock” button now which allows your character to stand still while shooting at a diagonal (Previously the character would run when shooting at diagonal angles).

Overall, I’m very happy with it. It’s a fast paced shooter that’s definitely full lof action

How far are you guys into Muramasa? I’m starting my hard Kisuke story now and completely underestimated the difficulty jump and ended up getting my ass handed to me twice within 10 minutes of starting it which was pretty funny to me. I find that I’m not a fan of the long blades even with the power they bring. I’ve often times pulled out the long blade and within the time of one swing had the blade’s energy lowered to a 1/4.

Wii Software Line up Holiday 2009

That is a lot of shovel ware…

WiiWare for Holiday 2009:

Oregon Trail?

URL=“http://www.gametrailers.com/video/virtual-console-crash-n-the/55917”]I had never heard of Crash N The Boys until ChairHome mentioned it was a good game…I don’t know what the heck is going on but doing Tatsumaki’s to clear jumping posts gets a  in my book

Nintendo’s Holiday Lineup (in before “NO GOOD GAMES COMING!”)

yeah like I said…that’s a lot of fuckin shovel ware…Another good reason that list at the front is needed lol. Wii Ware doesn’t look as cluster fucked as the retail releases do.

My bad, didn’t realize that my post was pretty much the same as what was in your links.
