The game is fantastic - get to it fools!
The most fun part of Muramasa is continuing the combo. I’ve gotten to 150 hits so far, but I am pretty sure I can get to 300 if I took my time.
Very Fucking Hard. The hard that makes you throw shit and cuss. Same ole Contra. But even with infinite continues it’s still hard. You just gotta rape with the Spread Gun, learn boss patterns and know when to shoot and when to run.

The reason that Brownie is Goddess Tier is because her sprite can’t be hit from the neck down. And that alone sets her above the rest of the cast. And the reverse can be said about Plissken. He’s a little taller than Bill/Yagyu so shit they can kinda dodge shit that hits Plissken more often.

Laser
You will always want the Spread Gun throughout the game. That weapon will destroy damn near everything with ease and makes some Boss/Mini-Boss encounters cake. The reason that the Homing Missiles aren’t in the High Tier is because in some situations it can’t properly take care of threats like you think it would. Go fuck with the Mini-Boss of Stage 3 and you’ll see what I’m talking about. And the Laser being the bottom tier is because it only has 1 really good use and even then the Spread Gun deals with that just as good if not better.
When you get to Nightmare Difficulty the Laser becomes a little more useful but it’s no Spread Gun no matter how you come at it.
This game gets a 9.5/10.
The only drawback is that it’s only 5 levels but you have to beat the game 4 times (1 for each difficulty) and 2 Player really ramps the action up.

Nightmare Difficulty -Beat the game on Hard
Debug Mode (PAL Only) -Press the Plus Button + 1 + 2 at the title screen.
Muramasa’s art work is so damn pretty…I’m gonna want to punch Wii owners in the face at work if I they don’t pick this game up. I’m having pretty good fun with it.
Finally picked up my copy of Muramasa (after having to argue down the ASM because he didn’t want to do shipment since his SM was in vegas. Too bad for him his SM is a friend of mine, so that guy is enjoying a write up for that.) This game is a lot of fun and I love the art style. Hey Sonichuman, thanks for the heads up on the wall scroll…after I was finally able to pick it up.
Has anyone heard if capcom backed out of putting new characters in TvC? My friend who is a SM at gamestop said he didn’t see any new characters when capcom did their showing. I am taking that with a grain of salt though as the only experience he has with the game is playing my import, (which he hasn’t in a while) but I was just wondering.
Still gonna buy it either way though.

What the fuck is wrong with some of these Gamestops!? You can’t just deny selling someone a game that someone had reserved! Why the hell does this guy have a job if he can’t go into the back and accept 1 box of shipment that has the games in it? He can look it up on the computer and see which box has the games and just accept that one. All these stories I keep hearing about different gamestops make me wonder how the hell some of these people got their jobs and I fuckin hate it when people get one bad experience at GS and then throw all of them into the pot. /end rant
And no prob on the wall scroll as for characters for TVC I’m pretty sure it was 100% confirmed that there are going to be at least 5 new characters and 1 axed from the tatsunoku side. I know the store managers had the GS conference and what not but generally not to many big things are revealed to them. They did reveal the black wii mote and nunchuk this year aaaaand that’s about it…GS conference is mostly to ‘edumacate’ the SM’s on the games that are coming and and getting a chance to play them before anyone else does.
Still loving on Muramasa right now. Swords break quick as a bitch when you get bogged down on enemies all around you. I still haven’t gotten used to changing out the swords and doing a quick draw when the sword’s energy is low but keeping up the combo and trying not to get hit while you’re flying about the screen is fun. I’m gonna put Kisuke’s run on the harder mode when I get to him.
Is the wall scroll like an actual wall scroll or is it just paper foldout?
hmmm…I think it’s closer to a long paper foldout where one side shows the main characters of the game blown up across it and the other side focuses on the enemies.
Red Steel 2 PAX 09 Panel
The most interesting thing I believe from this is that Vandenberghe (creative director) says that he wouldn’t turn down the chance to put Red Steel on another console other than the Wii. That makes 2 good games that had their series start out on this console that may end up jumping ship when the sequal comes around…If I was Nintendo I’d at least be taking note of this…especially if they want to keep strong 3rd party support.

Supposedly one of the guys who’s making the game has been actually answering questions in the comments section and fending off trolls/haters as well. So I snagged a new copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy on eBay for 42 bucks shipped. Never played the prime games so I’m pretty excited. Can’t wait to receive it.

I’ve been looking forward to this game ever since they showed it at TGS 2007.

I’m liking the game alot but playing it via the Wiimote sucks, hard.
I need to buy a classic controller tomorrow.
I’ve run across Kisuke twice so far when I’ve gone into the mountain springs…His character is pretty interesting. I look forward to playing his side of the story when I’m done with Momohime.
Tekkaman Blade being in TvC is awesome. They seriously need to put in Casshern (fuck “Casshan”) from SINS though, that version of the character owns the original.

I picked up Contra Rebirth. Very sexy WiiWare game. Probably the best to date IMO.
I also got Alien Crush Returns which is very good, Cue Sports Revolution, Midnight Pool, Bomberman Blast, Art Style Orbient, and Protothea.
