I’d probably say no if you have another system. If the Wii is your only system, then it’s worth getting. Played on my friends. The customizable controls are good and arguably better then playing on a regular pad, however it doesn’t really feel groundbreaking. I guess I was expecting more after all the awards it received at last years E3. The rest of the game feels like I’ve seen it somewhere before. I really like that one gun that can charge and fire 3 little balls that circle the enemy.
Anyone of you europeans play Little King’s story? I’ve been hearing some pretty good things about the game. It’s coming out on July 21st in America. Still on the fence.
Looking forward to Muramasa, Silent Hill, Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Maybe Arc Rise Fantasia,
7.0 I can’t freakin listen to anything right now…my sister is too busy watching Hurricane Chris’ Halle Berry music video…for the love of god someone shoot me!
The fact that you can configure almost every aspect of the controlling really got me loving the game. I had problems with throwing grenades with the nunchuck, but I realized I can change the sensitivity where a slight jiggle has Ford popping them out with ease. I also didn’t like the fact that I had to shake the wiimote to do a melee, so I changed it to down on the d-pad and had the wiimote shake as a quick turnaround.
One thing I didnt like was the auto-lock. Honestly, it wasn’t really necessary, so I had it as one of the non-reachable buttons (button 1 I think).
The game is good in its own regards and is the best looking FPS game on the Wii, hands down. Worth the purchase for the online aspect. As for the single player, it seems short. I just got to the fourth stage (in about 2 hours) and it says I already completed 40-50% of the game
Naruto Shippuden Clash of Ninja Rev 3 will be at the 2009 Anime Expo…so we’ll probably end up getting some vids and more info on the game. The linke at the time of this posting is messed up.
Little King’s Story Goes Gold:
Wii Sports Resort a Hit in Japan:
3rd best debut behind Smash and Mario Kart. Can’t wait for christmas time with our phones ringing off the hook with ‘ya’ll got Wii Sports Resort?’
I was telling people at work who try to get hotd 2&3 to get overkill instead since it’s the better game.
I’m in love as well with the amount of customization they have in the game. I think I spent the first hour of the campaign on and off trying to get the controls right…that is until the game stopped holding your hand and kicked it up a notch all of a sudden lol.
Calm yo self…lol. This came from a twitter that was following Professor Layton. Basically what happened is the tweet mentioned the professor getting invited to a smash tournament and even more interesting is that he implied Mega man, Little Mac, and Geno were there. The thing that’s most interesting is this is apparently a official nintendo tweet…but they have to be just saying that to fuck with people…
this was already reported in the no more heroes thread if you haven’t been in there already. I’m wondering if the nintendo fanboys are calling suda a traitor and all that lol.
So apparently NMH isn’t the only Marvelous Entertainment game that’s jumping ship…all of their current releases are being considered for 360/PS3 release, including Muramasa and Arc Rise Fantasia. The Magic Box has the info.
That’s some cold shit there, like when Capcom cancelled MH Tri for PS3 and put it on Wii. And the funny thing is the reason is to “boost sales in Japan”…how exactly are you gonna do that by going from the top selling console in the country to the runners up?
hmmm does anyone else get thing? when i try and play the conduit online it always times out as soon as the countdown ends. i never have connection issues with my 360 but no matter how many times i tried i cant get any games on my wii. this sucks
They’re all jumping ship because the Wii’s exclusive motion controls is no longer exclusive. It’s now up to Nintendo on whether or not they are going to upgrade to WiiHD to stay in the game with the current gen or jump to “Next Gen” with a totally new concept and console.
I don’t blame Marvelous or Suda. The Wii’s graphical potential has been tapped and there isn’t anywhere else to go.
In their defense I can see where they’re coming from. I also want to say at the same time that it’s taking them this long for companies to finally get going on good ideas on games. And honestly I think the companies are a bit insecure that they’ll be able to make their money back especially in terms of M rated titles. That isn’t entirely true though since HOTD: Overkill turned a profit and so did NMH. If anything it’s all testy waters right now and I think most of the companies are on ‘wait and see’ status. If Wii ends up selling out again for the 4th time in it’s time being out then then I don’t have many doubts that they’ll probably keep the games exclusive. I’ve been talking to Wii owners at work and most of them have been upset with the 3rd party games…until this year rolled around. A lot of them have been iffy on buying games incase it’s horrible/subpar…such is the effect of shovelware.
I haven’t had any problems in playing online during my time with the game. I’m also using a lan adapter for my Wii though and I’m not using a wireless connection. Conduit’s online has been pretty smooth during my plays of it with it every so often freezing in the waiting room between the 5th-6th game which was easily fixed by exiting the online and getting back on. Anyone else having the same problem gemdoom is?
Honestly…I’ve mentioned it several times before in other threads and probably this one as well but I don’t see Natal in it’s current state being a ‘threat’ to Wii’s motion controls. PS3’s wand is quite similiar so I can see people moving some games over to the PS3 but then the issue of game development costs and Consumer base start to come into play.
Graphically though…looking at what HVS is doing and Team Ninja with Other M…I’d say the wii has 2 more years. 3 tops before everything has been squeezed out of the system. And then there’s the Zelda Wii wildcard which is going to be dependent on what type of style they plan to go with it…but judging from the art piece I think it’d be safe to say that we’re not gonna get a ‘SURPRISE…IT’S CELL SHADED!’, so that game is probably going to push the system as well. I hear people making the jokes about the Wii being 2 gamecubes stuck together but honestly I haven’t seen too many games that bring that statement to truth. I’d say we’re seeing 1 and 1/2 gamecubes stuck together. This system is supposed be a tad bit more powerful than OG Xbox right? Where’s the stuff that could be compared to Doom 3?
So I read that article on IGN, saying that Miyamoto claims that the next Zelda won’t be radically different. That kind of has me sad.
Zelda’s been stuck in a rut for a while now. Not that the recent iterations are bad by any means, but it’s getting a bit tedious and boring going through the same things over and over again. Minish Cap was boring. Twilight Princess was so slow-paced as to be unbearable–luckily it got better in the last 2 dungeons or so.
I wish they’d overhaul the series somehow, the way that Retro drastically changed Metroid, but still made it similar and relevant. Maybe the next Zelda could be a story/cutscene heavy game a la MGS4, with an emphasis on an advanced combo system like Devil May Cry.
Keep an eye on this. This game was done by he same people who did Ace Combat and the controls for the game sound most interesting. They have it reversed with nunchuk in right and wii mote in left.
My thing with Marvelous porting the stuff to other consoles, you KNOW your typical PS3/360 player is gonna look at those games which were made using Wii’s graphical capabilities and go “lol dis sux”.
The only one that would translate well is Muramasa because of it’s unique 2D style. Arc Rise Fantasia in particular looks pretty bad for a Wii game, meaning it’ll look downright terrible on the others and nobody will want it because the casual gamer is a graphics whore (as in, they come before anything else).
