If you haven’t seen it yet…you should probably check out the Rayman Legends Trailer that got leaked. It’ll have have some Wii U exclusive stuff and it also shows how some of the NFC stuff works. I’m sure Ubisoft and righting an apology letter to Nintendo right now…

Spyro game should feel right at home now…no need to even have the portal.
basically saying they have a ton of shit to do but mark their words…they’re going to do it. insert shakey clinched fist at the heaven’s here Another confirmation that they intend to have a good launch line up and great 3rd party support along with another ‘we’ve learned from 3ds launch’ quote. We’ll see come June Nintendo…
I know about that list…unfortunately people on gaf already kind of debunked it already. Someone in the thread for it who works for BB even said it was speculative so it’s iffy. For the most part though based off of what we know is coming to the system so far, It’s probably at least 80% right.
NPC Pikimin 2 will be released as a Nintendo Select at 19.99 and DKCR and SSBB will get cut to 29.99. Hopefully that means they turned the sku back on for DKCR…
If I had to choose between listening to either Molyneux or Pritchford based on track records…It’d be Pritchford. This is really nerve racking though lol. Also some speculation here…Randy was talking about revealing a date soon for his game which would probably much mean E3. If Nintendo was cool and smart about this…they’d have some 3rd parties showing what they’ve been up too on stage with their games for the system. Be interesting if suddenly Randy came out on stage during their show.
[details=Spoiler]- Some folk at Retro Studios wanted to develop a new ip that involved 3rd person sci-fi action with intense aerial combat.
Others apparently were leaning towards taking the Star Fox helm.
Nintendo sees Retro Studios as a very competent developer and worked with them in creating the hybrid title of Star Fox – Metroid: Fusion Saga.
The title has multiple gameplay mechanics and needed a wide staff of talent to incorporate the many ideas.
The story begins as you control Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team on deep space mission in your Arwing, flying through a Meteos-like stage. As you enter a light speed warp, there’s a collision with an orange ship (Samus’) and the game continues with you now plummeting to a planet as Samus in her craft. You’re in mild control of her ship, using the Wii U controller to look around and touch screen press the lit up buttons to prepare for impact (while the TV stays locked on what you see out of the cockpit). You’re now on land, as a “yet again” stripped down Samus Aran with the most basic of weapon abilities, in first person perspective, traversing through this unknown planet
.
The game switches off between intense Arwing space and planetary battles as Fox makes his way to the planet that Samus crashed on and a Metroid Prime-like experience of gameplay as Samus on this planet, gradually uncovering its mysteries, leveling up, etc.
The Star Fox stages represent what the series is best known for, including the chatter and coming to the aid of the rest of your team, all range mode battles, and on rails stages.
The Metroid part of the game puts you alone, void of human or any talking character contact, and like the Prime series, sees you gaining upgrades, battling bosses, and in this case, repairing your ship.
The game is said to be epic in size, scope, ambition.
The pacing has been perfected to not interrupt what the feeling is behind either franchise, since Star Fox is more often known for being acceptable to have short sessions with and Metroid rather the opposite. You can opt to continue playing either just Samus’ part or Fox’s part without crossing over for much of the main game (or play it as it’s scripted back and forth), but will eventually have to complete both, as the characters will ultimately meet up.
There will be later parts in the game where you do get to control Samus’ ship and fly it Star Fox style.
Likewise, Fox McCloud will be controllable by foot (both the above and this bullet point represent a period in the game after the two sides meet up) and be played via 3rd person perspective. Think of Jet Force Gemini with Fox’s known agility as he’s portrayed to having in the Smash Bros. series. (Fox will move more like Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and less like he did in Star Fox Adventures).
Though a tentative title, the idea behind the story of “Fusion Saga” is both a play on the fact that the two series are fusing together into one game and of course, a storyline behind Andross using Metroids to enhance himself, his army, etc.
Star Fox – Metroid: Fusion Saga is wholly a satisfying adventure game as Samus, an equally electrifying aerial combat game as Fox, and something that delivers an exciting, special change that fans will love.
In consideration was the Star Fox portion having 4 player co-op online, but instead the game will have leaderboards for time and percent complete for all parts of the game and multiplayer will be simply versus mode based.[/details]
No sources have been listed though, so I’m guessing it’s total bullshit. Hoping too.
Even the nature of these bulletin points are pretty stupid. Especially the first three.
I didn’t even click the spoiler and I’ve already shit bricks from reading the title. Like the saying goes, if it’s too good to be true…
But I did read that Retro hired artists who worked on Uncharted and Darksiders so they must be working on something big. Now as for the *intense aerial combat *part of that spoiler, imagine they got Treasure on board to help with. Holy shit.
Still want Retro to do a LoZ Spinoff starring Zelda.
I don’t know how I feel about a Starfox/Metroid crossover…if it were true. It’s Retro though so at this point they haven’t given us a reason to doubt their abilities in anything yet, hell I’d probably toss them Ice Climbers just to see what would happen.
If you’re curious about lifetime numbers for the Mario, Zelda, and Mario Kart series then someone on gaf got them from Nintendo
Interesting stuff…poor Super Mario Galaxy series… well that’s in comparison to everything else. Still shipped a good chunk. Twilight Princess’ combined GC and Wii numbers would make it the highest shipped LoZ. Alone it would still be OoT. There’s also Smash and Pokemon numbers in there as well. These numbers are interesting to me because that most of these games are sold on 1 platform. Most companies would be happy to have numbers like SM Sunshine sold multiplat. Even crazier still is that games released like 6 years ago are still ‘evergreen’. Nintendo is still selling NSMB DS and MKDS and still at MSRP of around $35. It completely flies in the face of people in the industry saying second hand market is killing their bottom line. I don’t even know how to explain it though other than to say ‘it’s nintendo’.
Yeah, if I remember correctly, the reason why NSMB was even created is because Nintendo realized that there are a lot more 2D fans than 3D. They also tried to capture the 2D fans for SM3DL, but looking at the sales figures I guess they weren’t successful. =/
Actually the numbers for SM3DL are great considering the game hasn’t been out that long…remember those are lifetime numbers. Looking at the fact that SM3DL has just about done the same amount of numbers as Super Mario Galaxy 2 and in a much greater span of time( SM3DL = Nov 2011 SMG2 = May 2010) that’s actually pretty solid. And then you add in the fact that it’s probably still selling faster than SMG2 is and it’ll probably easily pass it’s numbers at least within a year of its release.
-Kingdom Hearts: HD Remix or Kingdom Hearts: Remembrance coming to Wii U
-Includes Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep
-Inclusion of new side quests
-Wii U version makes plot connections to Kingdom Hearts 3D
EDIT: Main reason this rumor seems stupid is that this version would include plot connections to KH3D. So other versions will have plot points omitted? Sounds wholly retarded.
The HD collection that that people have wanted for awhile now showing up on a brand new system and not PS3? The console that people have been patiently waiting for ANY of Nomura’s projects to get released on for the past 5-6 years? Hell I don’t think there’d be enough factories that could produce that amount of salt if this happened. I don’t believe it.
