Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

Well the article I read about that is rumored to be released to Gamestop in April 2012, so I doubt your store will have a copy.

Yeap, Nintendo of America just confirmed an April 2012 drop for the game under the European name. Whether the Gamestop exclusive part is true or not is up in the air.

GIG HYPE!

pretty hype. hope The Last Story comes out in the Us as well

Trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles:

Finally for a while I thought it really wasn’t coming. All we need now is The Last Story.

Excellent news! Can’t wait to play Xenoblade!

Yeah I finally recieved confirmation a little late. It is indeed in our pre-order list. Thank god…Now we need Last Story and Pandora’s Tower.

Is being a gamestop exclusive a good thing? Seems like they might lose sells.

I’ve played Xenoblade and would rank it as the best JRPG this gen over all consoles. I’m not considering the Souls games as JRPGs when I type this however.

Story I won’t spoil anything, but it’s by the same guy who came up with -gears and -saga games so if you’ve played those you’ll know what to expect. Dialogue during cutscenes will remind you you’re playing a JRPG. Gameplay during combat is sorta like an MMO but is fun. There are TONS of side quests although a lot can get tedious. Way too many fetch quests. Really liked the music too but I’d put the games soundtrack just behind NIER’s.

Watching the trailer it doesn’t look like they’re changing anything from the PAL version so why Q2? It can be out earlier. The British voices remain, which is good I guess since this could do without the usual NA anime voice actors you come across all the time although I did recognize some voice actors in Xenoblade are the same from Dragon Age 2. PAL version was dual languages and included the JP voices, however they did a really good job with the English voices so there’s really no reason to switch unless you’re an otaku. That is assuming they keep the JP voices in the US release.

Glad its coming over finally. Not sure why we have to wait til april. ^ you made me wanna go finish Nier. I wish i never stopped playing, can’t remember why i did

Yeah…I think that’s not exactly the best plan on Nintendo’s part especially since pre-ording on Amazon was a big chunk of Operation Rainfall. You can also order it directly from Nintendo’s website if you hate GS with every fiber of your being but in either case buy the game. This is going to be quite interesting after everyone made all that noise about these games not coming over here and then they’re finally bringing it out. Will it be too late? Will people who have gotten sick of NOA’s bs who have already imported bother to buy it again to support it? If the game doesn’t make enough sales will NOA blame it on the people who said they wanted it and didn’t go out and buy it despite the fact that they took 2 long to bring it out? Will sales of this game even have any effect on the other 2 games of Operation Rainfall? There’s a lot of stuff going on behind just this game alone.

Are the backwards compatible Wiis being phased out? I am planning to get one by the end of the year (hilarious I know, I know).

As of currently, there doesn’t seem to be any plans to phase out the BC compatible Wii’s. I honestly don’t know what Nintendo is trying to do with this.

Some announcements came about

Kid Icarus, Mario Party 9 release dates

mostly 3ds stuff but MP9’s release date is March 11th, Poke Park 2 is Feb 27, and Rhythm Heaven is Feb 13th.

CNet is reporting that Nintendo is bringing the Wii U to CES.

Have doubts that it’ll be the final form console since they said they’re doing a whole re unveiling of the console for E3.

Epic Mickey 2 confirmed for Wii, 360 and PS3

I saw the rumor for this game a couple of weeks back on Gaf but it looks like it’s 100% confirmed now. If it’s coming out at the end of this year then why on just Wii and not Wii U?

So, my roomie got a Wii for Xmas (mainly for Wii fit, although she also got New SMB and Twilight Princess, so I’m currently trying to beef up our game collection. I already got Castlevania Judgement and Monster Hunter Tri. Any other games that are lower on the price tier and high on the fun tier? Also, anybody here actually play Judgement here? I wanted to try playing it online (although I’m sure the netcode is ass) and nobody was on.

Edit: Stick to exclusives, btw. I already own a 360, so I’d probably want to play any multiplatform game on that.

Bit.Trip, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Sin & Punishment 2 and Mario Galaxy are the first games that come to mind that are cheap and fun as hell.

Also, Just Dance 2 is very fucking dope, only because of the song called “Rasputin”. It was reason enough for me to buy it. Endless fun at playing it and watching others play it, especially when alcohol is involved.

netcode fo Castlevania was indeed a laggy affair. Low on price and high in fun? Super Mario Galaxy 1 and Punch-Out recently became greatest hits. If you dig Sonic then go for Sonic Colors. You can try locating a copy of Muramasa, House of the Dead Overkill if you don’t have a PS3, Metroid Prime 3 should be pretty cheap. I could probably name some more based off of what I have and the list on the front page. I actually need to update it soon since some games have already been released and some games have lost their exclusivity.

I’m going to include some Virtual Console games because they’re cheap and worth playing.

I don’t know the current price of any of the above games, so it’ll be up to you to check and then decide if they’re cheap enough for you.

Wii Play Motion and Wii party are currently the top wii games for our house. I know they aren’t super cutting edge, but my whole family has been playing them together and it’s been great. Oh, also New Super Mario Bros Wii.
