Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

Bought to go dive into the Battlfield 3 masses to pick up my copy of kirby. Watching some vids of the abilities that someone put up before I go.

Fighter is in…I’m gonna make sure to SRK EVERYONE. Oh wow…they gave Fighter a fireball?

Did you find Kirby’s Adventure easy? I had trouble beating it, but I was 6.

Anyway, I’d like to hear your impressions on the new Kirby.

My wife really wants me to get the new kirby game. I don’t know though I have never been a huge fan of kirby games. Kirby Crystal Shards was just slow and boring. After I got past the cool abilities it was really hard to find any drive to continue playing the game. I played a little of epic yarn and also found that to be kind of boring. I don’t mind the lack of deaths, since the lego series does that as well.

I feel the Wii is slowly phasing itself out. It is like the wii is ready to leave the market but the Wii U isn’t ready to arrive.

Have you played a Kirby besides Crystal Shards or Epic Yarn (which wasn’t even a Kirby game to begin with)?

Kirby’s Adventure for NES is awesome. Very solid platformer with a beautiful feeling of ambience that is not very common to games. Can’t speak for Nightmare In Dream Land, which is a GBA remake of Kirby’s Adventure, as I’ve never played it.

As for your latter comment, I agree. I’m still confident in my assumption that the “Rainfall” games are being held for Wii U. Seems like Skyward Sword is going to be a last stand. Though it will probably be a HUGE money maker for the N as well as a major contribution to gaming.

Epic Yarn is amazing. I love it. It’s the only game I’ve ever wanted to hug.

I’ll play some of it tonight then I wanted to get deeper into Arkham City but I haven’t played a traditional Kirby game in a loooong time. I’ll give impressions before I go to bed.

Kirby has been pretty fun so far. Simplistic fun. I just finished the first level and got to try out a few of the abilities. I only just now realized that they actually do have a block in the game (they use A for it) just like Superstar did. Game of course has been pretty easy but I’m not expecting a big super challenge from Kirby really. Just a relaxing fun traditional game. This game apparently has challenge rooms though so I’m curious to know how those are. Oh…well seems I just actually activated one…tries…awww…got 3rd. It was an ability challenge using Sword Kirby where I had to run through the stage before the time limit while getting as high a score as possible.

I want to put more time into this game before giving a verdict on it but it feels fun so far. If you’ve been a pretty big traditional kirby fan I don’t see too much of a reason not to pick up this game unless the $50 is too steep for you.

Enjoying some of the new moves they gave some of the powers. Sword Kirby even rips a certain move from a certain hylian hero. As if the sword beam at full health wasn’t enough of a nod. Haven’t seen my favorite ability yet but i’m still holding out hope. I’m gonna try to play through one more world before I head to sleep. I want to at least get Fighter.

Edit:

They way you go through floors was annoying at first until I realized it’s not double tap down to do it any longer…you actually just hold down.

Edit2:
…Did I just see Kirby do the monkey in one of his dances? lol

GT just put up their review

Edit:

oh yeah…and Nintendo is going to be reporting huge losses from the first part of the year

Ya know…maybe this wouldn’t have been so bad had you actually released the games we wanted this year…hmm?

Edit 2:

Also looks like GTTV this week is going to be Nintendo centric. Wii U, 3DS, exclusive skyward sword trailer, etc.

I feel that Nintendo lost touch with its core audience.

Man, whenever I need to just relax or need help falling asleep I play Epic Yarn. It really is a great game and a nice break from getting chainsawed/SOed in the back in Gears ha…

Wii U will be in final form at E3 2012

I’m betting we probably won’t get any new info from Reggie tomorrow.

A grown man asking this might sound weird, but has anyone tried Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure?

I know what you’re thinking, but apparently it is actually a good game. I’ve heard that the Console versions are like Gauntlet, but with cutesy animals (and 20 characters). Each character has 3 attacks, two of them can be upgraded. Characters level-up to gain extra health, and you can boost their stats by beating Heroic Challenges (every character comes with a Heroic Challenge, which is an extra stage). Unfortunately (or fortunately?), it is supposed to be fairly easy until the later levels.

The main issue comes in the form of the physical “DLC;” the figurines that add extra characters and stages. You can buy most of them in 3-packs, which saves some money. The figurines can also be used on all consoles, including the 3DS, which is a separate game (a 3d platformer). Plus, if a sequel is made (which is likely due to the time/money spent developing this one), then the figurines should carry over.

I know a regular customer who bought the game but I haven’t heard from him yet. I’ll make sure to ask him when I see him.

MW3 for the Wii actually looks better than I thought it would.

sounds like it has some issues with ‘lag shooting’ for right now. Of course it can’t compare at all to it’s HD cousins but if you enjoy motion controls for your shooters you may want to at least take a look into it.

Chuckle worthy M&S london olympics commercials

If people are looking for another platformer to play then they should probably be on the look out for Rayman: Origins regardless of which system you own.

IGN Review

sooo they’ve had the ability to add internet functionality to VC titles…THIS WHOLE GOD DAMN TIME!?

…maybe they it’s too stress inducing or something? I mean all those titles on there that could have benefited from this. Playing Mario Kart 64…could have put Turtles in Time for the SNES on there…I mean what the hell!?

Please let it be just that…a rumor.

I’d imagine (read: hoping) that Nintendo just is shopping around to see what they can do for online. The fact that this is even a rumor at least shows that they’re at least taking more consideration for their online. Getting Valve to help with their online would probably be the best option but I’m pretty sure EA is trying to sweeten the pot as best as they can.

EA trying to cockblock Valve as much as possible…

I’d be buying Skyward Sword on release day but my Wii is at my parents house. So I’ll probably buy it next month when I’m visiting them.

Uh oh…

Xenoblade Chronicles Coming to the U.S?

I immediately called my store to try to confirm if it’s there or not to make sure. When I hear back I’ll let you guys know.
