so I ran across a good looking wii joystick.
Looks real nice. Looking forward to some fighters.

“Too bad none of you can use it…”
LMAO, too bad there’s no games to use it on more like… Who needs a stick for the Gamecube anyway…?
capcom vs snk2 was on GC lol thats all i can think of
no, cvs2 EO! That means you get your fucking EO mode where you can use your C stick to do charging specials without charging.
I wouldn’t be too dismissive at this point, i mean it will probably have the SNES SF’s on virtual console, and a version of CvS2, and i don’t know if smash is good with a joystick but i guess it’s an option.
Now before you get all wtf on me think about it for a second. Not every tournament is going to be like evo, and if it’s not, your going to need something to compliment fighters. Wii probably caters better to the group that actually still remembers SF in it’s prime, and it’s not like you are going to need 1080p for fighters. Its a possibility imo.
Well, that stick is only good for GC games. If you can use the GC controller for VC games, then cool, but I believe that you can only use either the Wiimote or the classic controller to play VC games, which is a bum deal for a GC made stick.
Essentially, the only hope for that stick is that companies continue to make games, in this case fighters, specifially for the gamecube. I just hope that Nintendo or a 3rd party makes a USB controller so we can hack it and start making sticks for the Wii.
CvS2 EO on GC = no roll cancel.
I agree with you that the Wii has the best chance of getting 2D fighters since it is relatively cheaper (absurdly cheaper) to make games for the Wii (I hear PS3 dev kit = $20k while Wii dev kit = $2k, but don’t quote me on that). Old 2D fighters don’t need high end hardware, they need high end programmers to create perfect ports. Someone tell Seth Killian to push Capcom to make fighting games on the Wii.
urr, GC controllers work for ALL VC titles, in addition to gamecube games and some wii games (Metal Slug namely).
Yeah, I know…
Anyway, I think that Wii is gonna be GREAT for 2D Fighters. Think about all of the SNES and Genesis fighters that were released. (With all of our favorite… Including WW, HF, CE, Alpha, Alpha 2 etc.) Then there’s prolly gonna be games like Fatal Fury and stuff like that. I seriously think Wii is gonna be a great revival of the classic fighters… something we all need. A joystick has been produced for it though… but its not the first. I mean, its just a GCN stick plugged into the GCN port on a wii… I want wireless and Ill wait for that.
No shit, for real? I thought GC controllers would only work for GC games and Wii games that specifically programmed to use the GC ports. My bad!
IKARUGA.
e.g. The reason why your TV should be on it’s side.
Damn Straight son!
You guys are forgetting Soul Calibur 2. The reason why i have a GC joystick is cause i imported the game, a stick, and the freeloader cause it came out 6 months earlier in Japan on console than it did in the US on console.
I’ve still got my SC2 hori. Maybe i’ll be able to brush the dust off and actually use it.
Naruto Gekit Ninja Taisen is on GC damnit! :).
Street Fighter II(Super Famicom) version is on the Japanese virtual console. Let’s hope it comes out here as well.
I wonder if the Virtual Console will have a Game Genie option? I remember all the funny shit you could do on SNES SF2.
i’ve always wondered if anybody has ever tried smash on a stick
i bet its a whole new ball game.
Didn’t I hear something about SNK supporting the Wii? So hopefully there’ll be some new fighting games on there soon.
Also you can’t use a stick for GNT4, as it doesn’t support the dpad (unless there’s some option to enable it hidden somewhere).
Nintendo actually sued Game Genie for copyright infringement back when, so that’s not likely.
yeah, taht’s what I heard too, something about ps3 and 360 being unsuitable for 2d gaming due to tehir ultra high def crap. So wii it is :D.
so he basically made a CG stick… i’m sure with the Nyko adapter i would be able to use my HRAP2, but too bad i’m never getting a wii
