you know when a good thing become too much of a good thing that it became bad; that’s how I feel like with video games these days. lol jesus christ, 3rd generation consoles are so high end and so expensive to develop for that most games push graphics rather than mechanics and gameplay. Oh what a world. Who in the right mind actually even needs a third generation console, I mean I remeber ps2 was the SHIT not because of better graphics but because of the games that would come out for it.
yeah no kidding, and at one point, I thought handheld gaming would be the saving grace but I was wrong. I would absolutely adore the PSP if it’s main focus was on 2d games with that huge sexy screen, but most of the games as hitty 3d ports that I could care less about.
As far as Smash on a stick?
Not possible, Smash is analog only.
unless you’re willing to blow cash on an analog stick or two
smash on a stick has been deemed impractical and banned at most tourneys (not that I’ve actually heard of someone bringing a stick to a tourney) and even bordering impossible.
The main reason is NOT the analog stick for controlling direction or the multi direction C-stick (4 buttons in one).
The problem is that the shield buttons (L and R) are analog as well and have a function in the game for multi-level shielding. Light shielding is a very important, albeit overlooked part of high level smash and it just wouldn’t be too feasible on a joystick button.
Smash just works better on a gamecube controller, which is both a pro and a con as far as the tourney scene is concerned. Either way, it won’t change, just like the Smash community wouldn’t change to the PAL version of the game despite it being superior.
I’m sure there’s plenty of uses for it though, to each his own.
This, IMO, is ridiculous, every console back to the beggining sold on graphics, the main reason most of my friends got a nintendo is because it was hype and mario looked way better than atari. Most people were into PS2 because it had a better looking madden and final fantasy. Maybe we’re just a little upset that the games that hooked us with their shiny graphics (umm, SF2 anyone?) aren’t the same games the kids pick up today.
Thanks, the analog would be a problem i guess, didn’t think of it since i don’t play yet.
Well, I agree, that so far every console has sold on graphics (except the wii that sold on controller), and to the concern of the average gaming dummy, is as far as anything matters. But with every iteration of a game, new elements are introduced and old elements are lost. Some of us really miss these old elements :(.
ahhh that makes sense thank you
Thats part of the reason i never bother with the cube. All it got was CVS2.
Whereas the PS2 got EVERY 2D fighter&port released last gen.
there ar eother games out there other than fighters…
