Hello, Wichita!
My name is Jon (you may call me Champoo) and I’ve lived in Wichita since I was in third grade. I am now 20 years old and a student at Butler CC.
I frequented Aladdin’s Castle in Towne East Mall quite often during my sophomore year of high school. I would just play DDR all the time, but I always saw people playing Soul Caliber and such. When I was a kid I had Street Fighter 2 for the SNES but I never got to play it because all of my older cousins would hog the controllers and wipe the floor with me if I even dared tried to play against them. Something deep down inside of me always wanted to learn how to be good at fighting games. It was probably my 6 year old self wanting revenge against my cousins. Again and again I told myself I’d go and learn how to play fighting games, but never did.
When I saw that Street Fighter 4 was coming to the consoles I was excited because I would finally be able to learn how to play Street Fighter without having my older cousins and uncles destroying me and my spirit to play. I decided to find every resource I could to help me get better at the game, from finding this site, to watching and analyzing Youtube videos, etc (I started this a week ago). I do find the game fun, and I want to find people who share this passion and willingness to learn (believe me, I am the definition of noob when it comes to how good I am at SF4). I am so glad that this thread was here, and I’m sorry for having to write a lengthy story that might be a waste of your time, but I wanted you guys to get to know me a little bit. Because I’m starved for the arcade scene ever since Aladdin’s Castle went out of business, and I have no friends that are willing to play Street Fighter with me (they’d rather play Halo 3 or COD4).

Nice to meet you Jon and DJ. I think we need to do some pre-gaming somewhere. I don’t really keep up with SF4 anymore; lately I just put my time into the flavor of the week (e.g. a new game). Melty Blood: Actress Again being the target.
I told Ricky already there’s a lot of us who play just about anything. Phong, Shyang, and Cuong all play SF4 on a whole different plane.
Petro: I don’t think you should drop BlazBlue just because KC is good at it. You’d be missing out on a lot of attendees if you did. Last week’s ranbat in KC had 19 people show up for that game alone – twice as much as SF4 or T5DR.
AND we have people here who play it.
Just my two cents.
I’ve actually put some time into BB and I like it. I play Jin and I try not to Icecar spam 
But I’ve really only started playing fighting games this month. XD

There are actually going to be a lot of Blazblue players at this. There’ll be players from here, KC, OK, TX, and possibly other states.
There are even well-known Brawl players that said they probably wouldn’t even bother driving all the way to Wichita if it weren’t for the announced BlazBlue side-tournament.
hmm… peter i could care less if k.c. is good at blaze. who in the crew play it ? beside you and maybe a few other ? on our side of the crew NO ONE other than darnell & ian even care fo it. but fine. there will be blaze blue.

Just because you guys don’t play it, doesn’t mean tons of other people would like to. We talked about this before. If you want to make a successful turnout, you have to pull in as many people as you can.

Guess I’m a little late hopping onto the wagon here, but I guess most of you would know me as Durrell. Haven’t had the chance to really get into too many new games as of late. Not having the money and all.
Anyways nice to meet you guys. And to anyone who already knows me, what’s up?
Good shit Wichita. Nice to see you guys firing up your scene nice and hot.
I expect good things out of you guys in T6. Darnell, Peter, Andy, you guys are going to have to lead the charge, get these guys hyped, and educated. There was some potential from a few of the guys Dave and I played out there, but there’s a lot of work to be done. I’m also completely open about teaching up and coming players myself. If they’re willing to come out to our tournaments/hookups, I’ll sit down with them and share whatever knowledge I can. I want T6 to be the biggest Tekken community yet, and the Midwest has the potential to be a premiere force in this game.
I hope Kyle got motivated on Guilty Gear and BlazBlue after this trip to KC. He’s got ALOT of potential at those games. He was rusty in Guilty, I could tell. I think he’ll be a big competitor for next seasons ranbat title if he gets back into it.
And Peter, you’re a beast at KOF. I’m sorry we couldn’t finish this last time, BUT, I want to set up a grudge match between you and ArkiveZero on the big screen at the next tournament. You two are obviously the respective best at that game, so let’s get it going.
