I like Hawkeye/Bolts, but I’m not sold on Dorm in the middle.
Query: Who do y’all think is best with Hawk/Bolts?
My ideas, Hawk/Haggar/Strange or Hawk/Spencer/Strange seem effective, Hawk/Strange/Vergil sounds decent too.
I like the first just because I know them well and the nuetral game sounds unstoppable, but I’m not exactly sure how I’m supposed to get damage with Haggar second when the DHCs don’t seem great for damage.
I like the first team and third team as well. I think that lariet and rapid slash would def help Hawkeye more than Spencer could. For the first team you could run Haggar anchor, and if Hawkeye dies you can bring Haggar in and have him backed up wit Bolts. This way you at least get a good dhc punish from Strange.
I’m thinking about switching up my team to Joe/Doom (Missiles)/Hawkeye (Greyhound).
Just wondering if anybody around here uses the Doom/Hawk shell and could give any quick thoughts. It seems like arrows would help Doom against some of his harder, ant-zoning matchups. Plus, being able to DHC Doom out (when he’s on life support) and have Hawkeye with missiles behind him doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
Hey all, I’m working on a potential team with Hawkeye on anchor but can also run him on point for certain matchups.
The usual order would be either Vergil/Nova/Hawkeye or Nova/Vergil/Hawkeye, but when Hawkeye’s on point it’s Nova/Vergil behind him, Nova with Gravimetric Pulse (shield) assist.
The benefits Hawkeye gets from his partners on this are:
*The shield covers the area right in front of Hawkeye when it comes out, and he can go further behind it to create a small trap/projectile absorber.
*Rapid Slash, when covered correctly with s.H xx Triple Arrow or what have you, pushes the opponent back to the opposite corner for free, which is useful in the matchups I want to run Hawkeye in.
*DHC into Speed Tackle from raw/full-screen confirm Gimlet leads to a combo that builds a bar and ends up doing about 1mil if it exhausts all meter. Scares the opponent from pressing buttons and forces them to eat chip.
*Nova infinite gets a kill plus meter for Gimlet/Speed Tackle and of course Vergil in back.
*Vergil in back.
My question is, what should I look out for when I run Hawkeye on point in this team? What weaknesses do you foresee? What are Hawkeye’s bad matchups? (So far I’ve had trouble against Wesker and Dante and success against big bodies, and of course Doom)
Agreed teleports are problematic. I find Doom Missiles is pretty handy against Dante and Vergil teleports, but not very effective against Wesker.
In regards to characters without teleports, I find Wolverine and Nova to be especially tough matchups. Gyromactic shield should help for both of those.
Very much like Gimlet/Speed Tackle, I use Gimlet/Luminous Body into Bon Voyage for a full combo from full screen. Can you get a full combo off Speed Tackle if they get caught by Gimlet in the air? It’s very spacing dependant for the Firebrand conversion.
Yeah, it doesn’t work high up in the air without X-Factor, but at regular jump height it’s usually possible to convert (though difficult).
I’ve decided that there’s really no matchup for this team where it makes sense to run Hawkeye on point, as the assists are not strong enough to help him. Cool tech if he ever ends up there mid-match though, be it through snapback or tagging him in to fight Doom or whoever.
Ive been searching for teams since I picked up marvel again after a short hiatus and have been playing Hawkeye/Taskmaster/Doom(plasma beam) for the past few days. I am really liking this setup and feel that plasma beam may be the best assist for Hawkeye over missiles, jam session, vajra, tatsu etc. I’m using vertical arrows with Taskmaster and this setup literally controls everything on the screen.
I prefer beam over missiles becuase it helps against rushdown characters on the ground and pushes them back which allows Hawkeye to get out of sticky situations. I can also dhc into Taskmaster with either his legion arrows or counter super and then Taskmaster is able to take advantage of both triple arrow and plasma beam which allows him to convert off pretty much anything. Not to mention access to Dooms infinite and hard tag combos.
Im starting to feel that Hawkeye/Doom(plasma beam)/Dante(jam session) is potentially the best Hawkeye point team in the game and can actually be viable at a high level .
Any suggestions on how to DHC from Hawkeye into Haggar? I’ve tried a couple of different ways but everything I come up with either whiffs or doesn’t do much damage. I know it’s Hawkeye DHC’ing into someone else so not much damage either way, but still…
How good with Spiderman/Doom/Hawkeye be? I know of teams that consist of Spiderman/Hawkeye/Doom but I like Doom more second because of TAC infinites and better DHC damage. I also prefer Hawkeye much more on anchor.
My question is how much can triple arrow benefit Doom? I wouldn’t imagine it does as much as Hawkeye with missiles, but again I really don’t like Hawkeye on the second slot of the team. Your thoughts? Is it definitely a workable order that can turn into something viable? If anything, I can just safely DHC into Hawkeye if I needed to.
Running Hawkeye(triple arrow)/Strange(eye)/Doom(missiles) and its proving to be a really strong point Hawkeye team. Eye is great for covering Hawkeye in between the missile calls and it also helps him at the start of the round and do trick maneuver m mixups. I’m just learning strange, but his eye assist is awesome for Hawkeye so far from what I see.
Hawkeye (Triple Arrow)/ Captain America (Charging Star)/ Doom (hidden missiles)
Simply one of the best teams Ive used. Basically meter building. Like stated earlier, the Gimlet is very scary. I love the Doom assist with hidden missiles because it just further adds onto the meter build and is great with crossup. The Charging shield is used to back opponents off of you.
That team would work but the only problem is when Zero dies, Srider doesnt offer much in the lockdown department which Hawkeye really needs to keep distance away from the opponent. That and the fact Hawkeye DHC is trash, and both characters heavily rely on meter which will mean one character will have to sacrifice not having meter for the other character. IMO Hawkeye’s best assists are jam session, plasma beam, hidden missiles, log trap, tatsu and rapid slash.
I did not expect it, but WOW, that synergy. Task has a lot of situations where he naturally if wearing them down in chip, and finds that if he spends two meters on block, legion arrow into scatter shots gets up more chipstrings with Hawk/Arrows and it just gets silly.
I bet drones would be equally nuts, as there are many good times to go into sent drones and DHC.
Actually, can you put out drones on block, gimlet, and get mixups afterwards starting from far away? Because if so, dayum, that sounds great.
Also, another reason I came over here. For the Task/Hawk shell, a good DHC is sharp sting in corner, TK H arrows, sideswitch downward legion arrows into super scatter shot, hits with all of the shots, and you can go into TK Pearson Bolt Gimlet, then fall with arrows and task assist into yet more ranged annoyance.
I end up doing this a lot, especially during Taskmasters bnb when if you shield skills too late(or early I forget which one) you end up side switching. I’ll just do downward legion arrow and then kiss of fire. Need to do it after a sharp sting, good stuff.
