Why the hate for Dead or Alive?

LMAO. Damn chris. Still beasting! <—Dre

someone needs to make a mullet time traveler doa ytmnd

AION: what your not realizing is that your arguing for safe play, you look upto that player and point out that his doa3 play isnt as good as his doa4 play, HE’S RELYING ON GLITCHES! the game wasnt even made that way in the first place, OFCOURSE you think its better that way the WHOLE competitve fighting game scene depends on it, it doesnt matter what looks good, if it looks good to you keep playing it, just dont belittle things you dont think thoroughly enough about

doa was supposed to be about simplified independance, i dont like much how people put others on a pedestal, YOU can do the same as this person YOU can do better because what YOU do will be from your OWN mind, independance.

its just its a long and hard process and we have lives that are filled with other stuff, the japanese are so good cause they dont need to go out of there way to have compitition, ITS JUST THERE, we westerners have to work harder

Caligeant
doa4 gives you this oportunity by following the way of the tai chi ying yang symbol, this is what lifes like, there is no empire thats eternal, fighting games have been unnatural for ages, this is the only one (apart from vf) that has complete constant change.

which matters to you because you rely on execution and dexterity for all the games you play.

it creates stresses on the mind to do a simple thing, so in reality its those games that are random, cos when you lose you can use excuses why you lost
(dexterity, execution, etc list goes on) and be happy about it

maybe what he realizes (or doesnt realize) that only 3 or 5 people have enough experience in it to adapt quickly enough to be safe against damn near everyone.

DOAC consisting of people who lose to these 3 to 5 people, basically majority not having enough experience enough to have any say.

only reason virtua fighter isnt in the same shit is because the vastness is so obvious you wouldnt even dare challenge it, its known you shouldnt mess with the vastness and it shows you on top of mount everest.

what people are too stupid to realize is virtua fighter isnt difficult at all, everything is simplified, whats hard is remembering everything and wanting to, because the game is so vast you get your ass kicked 21 ways through sunday if you aint on the ball.

You’re looking way too far into it man. You’re talking about a game where the producer took all the good things out, and still CONTINUES TO DO SO. Also the top 4 characters in the game are ninjas, so they kill your whole ying yang tai chi thing.

the top four are ninja’s? in a game where anyone random can be on top?

apparently mariposa and kokoro were meant to be bottom tier, i used to always love facing ninja players with mariposa, it doesnt matter how good they were, i won like 90% of those matches

just like any game the tier list changes, doa’s ninja are fast, they are the hardest to adapt to thats true but in time they most likely wont be so high up, because familiarity is a good teacher

Lol at this thread for still living.

DOA4 and DOA3.1 are 2 completely different games. Regardless of what anyone says, It is. I have played both DOA4 and DOA 3.1. As much as i hate to say it. DOA4 is a more skill based game than 3.1. There is a DEGREE of randomness in doa4 but what fighting game doesnt have randomness? Think about it, IMO 3s has to be one of the most random fighting games of all time. And SOME people consider it to be one of the best fighters of all time. (Why i dont know) DOA4 has shown VERY consistant placings. With Carl(perfect legend) Consistantly placing top(including winning) in EVERY doa tourny he has been in. I personally do not like DOA4 so I wouldnt touch it with a rope on the otherside of a room. But the game is very consistant.

As far as ease of play goes. There are VERY few people who play DOA correctly. And those are the players who consistantly place top in those tournaments. Master, PL, Rikuto, Vp and whome ever else places top in tournaments when they play. The game isnt too heavy on execution. But the game makes up for it with the person having the ability to REACT to sitations. That is one thing I can give doa. You have to be able to react/adapt accordingly to so many random situations. Those “top players” Are the only ones who consistantly do that due to the fact they are still placing top in EVERY tourny they play in.

Shin Touyokouzan and Ki Shima, you two are both fighting game scrubs.

Ki Shima, how can you be so damn retarded and been on this site since 04?

Lol, yeah. This thread is kinda relaxing. Having Xdest doing all the slaying with me just backing him up. So how are you doing bro?

     Wow, someone who is not afraid to tell the truth. Why do people get so upset when the truth is revealed. You have some balls to be making the statements you made here. Now people are going to look at you as if you have the plague.

Uh… Cant handle the truth about the game? I said what i said about the game even though i HATE the game. Looks like to me the only scrub here is you for not acknowledging the fact that the game isnt as random as people believe it is<_<

Im chilling nigga. Just trying to make it to the next day. Ill have to get your number again… PM it to me.

Third Strike.

I already know it’s not as random as ppl believe it to be, I think you’ve failed to see that i’ve actually defended DOA4 on this site before.

Also I think it’s hella funny how ppl are saying XDest is running this thread, when actually all he’s been doing is repeating shit that got refuted on DOA’s own home base.

No one feels like dragging this out and going through the motions all over again.

Moving on, I’ve now uploaded 10 of the 15 vids from the DOA3.1 DiD tourney. Check the earlier pages for the link, it’s worth it if you wanna know what a good DOA looks and plays like.

So how does that classify me as a fighting game scrub??? Wait nevermind ignore this post <_<

this part of your last post:

Like every other game doesn’t give the person the ability to react to situations?? Or you’re unable to react/adapt accordingly in other fighters??

That proved that your knowledge of various fighting games is limited. Maybe you’ve only played or have knowledge on a couple games. No big deal though, just play the games, read the forums, watch the matches.

If it’s not, then I apologize for my statement.

retarded?

slide you’ve been living in the bum hole of fighting game traditions, if everyone said and played bloody raw at evo you’d go and do it if there was a trend in the mechanics that made everyone believe theres time well spent investing your life into creating a simple concept you’ll find sf2ce, because its fair…

its all about psychology

if you accept it it would cripple the fighting game comunity, but if your gonna be in the fucking business you better know what the fuck is what if your gonna argue on its behalf, stop lying to yourself.

this is so fucking stupid, calling me a scrub aswell, thats the dumbest shit in the world, believe me if i really wanted to you’d know about me

Yeah i would have to disagree with you. I know how fighting games work. I wasnt saying other games dont have that ability. I said for what doa lacks in That part makes up for. That is what i was saying…

The problem is Dre, it doesn’t. Every game allows you to react in the same way DoA does, except none of them reward you with 33% dmg for it. And none of them force you to play this “reaction” or better said “guessing” game 95% of the match.

Everything is skewed in DoA, and as the series progresses most of the good stuff is taken out. It’s like every new console release of A3, fucked up in some way or another.

People from FGC who started and played VF still do to this day, though they don’t really compete much cause VF4 EVO is dead and VF5 is just around the corner. People from FGC who started and played DoA, got into, found out the randomness, and left, simply as that. If it was simply a matter of skill than players would stay, cause I can assure you nobody wins right off the bat in VF. But it’s pretty obvious people saw something about DoA that wasn’t right or else DoA would have a much bigger player base.

Then again, the DoA community is trash so that might contribute for the lacking player base.

*"This picture show Afrocole (to the right) a famous world known ST player at TS6 standing next to DOAMASTER and tells him…

‘Who in the HELL is DOGayMaster? Where is the fried chicken and watermelon?? I am HUNGRY!!’"*

Buwahahahahaha, that shit is hilarious.

Anyways, I was under the impression that the reason why DOA is frowned upon by the community in general is due to the assumption that the game is all tits and no tactics. shrug

If all other fighting games have it, why bring it up?

“I’ll hand it to that basketball player; he doesn’t have speed, or talent, but he does have arms.”
