Realistically, you’d have to kill ST in Japan first for us to even consider dropping it. And even then it won’t happen. Sucks, I know.
no, not DOA. Just DOA4. Well it doesn’t suck becuase it’s still fun to play at some level, gameplay just isn’t solid enough.
Some of it might be anger due to DOA not being at evo this year, although for some reason i would’ve expected this yr to bring in more DOA players than last year, but not enough to hit the player cap again.
Lol super turbo is the only street fighter i play now… Ironic. I Dont care if they dont have the same mechanics… I just dont like the game. I do however agree with you on the last state ment with 10+ year old games getting played though.

Tekken 5’s gameplay isn’t solid enough.
Even if this was the case, Tekken has a large player base that eclipses just about every other game’s player base.

DOA’s results are more consistent than Tekken’s.

Offense is king, moves are fast, throws are incredibly effective, and “turtling” is rarely a viable option. The game is brutal: one big mistake can lose you the entire round.

A 5 man tournament is gonna have hella more consistent numbers in comparison to a 100 man tournament.

Just one meta about fighting game tradition PL.
If you were gonna cook yourself a meal, would you use buckets and cauldrons because it’s unique? Or would you stick to pots and pans like everyone else has been doing for so many years?
Point being, people will judge games on fighting tradition for a reason…because it works. And there is no reason why DOA4 still can’t have the same ideologies behind it while still being traditionally stable.

DOA series is like a know slut in the neigborhood. She (DOa4) might be banging, but everyone has tried her in the the past (The DOA series) most people don’t like it and even tho the “slut” has changed she’s always be viewed as trash to most of those who “played” her and moved on know this “slut” (DoA4) has stepped her game up, she aint sluttly as she use to be and looks good, but has a bad rep and a few traits left over from her old self(older series). AKA she’s freaky but not a slut… People see that and assume that she is the same old same, nothing has changed.
DOA is that… The slut of fighters, you get on have fun for a min and then go play a “real” fighting game.
DoA4 is the reformed slut, that still a “good time to be around” fun but not as “fun” as it used to be (aka its not as easy) but still not as deep as other fighters “girls” because of how fast you can get on and win. But once you get to into playing it (reformed slut) you realize its pretty deep, but in its own way. Infact it aint that bad…But you can’t tell your boys you feeling a slut, so what do you do? You bash it along with others or don’t defend it when its being talking down about.

If you didn’t care then what was the purpose of posting 5,000(exaggeration, please someone don’t run away with that) of them? You could’ve just kept the lists to yourself or something.
As for the rest of your post, I’ll just take your word for it.
If you liked or even respected ST, I figured that you wouldn’t have even made those specific comments about it, and you would’ve atleast brought up some points to be discussed instead of making a lowly stab at the age of the game.
But whatever right.
We shouldn’t just adopt a game just because it’s new, especially if in ppl’s opinion it’s not even as good as a previous game(or game in it’s series). The same goes when someone shouldnt drop a game just because it’s old. Vice versa.
BUT even with all that, even if a previous game is better, you still gotta go where the competition goes. And quite frankly, DOA4 doesn’t pull up numbers. I think that’s probably the big issue anyway, cause everyone just puts out opinions, but actual numbers is something that’s objective and is somewhat of a good factor in proving a games competitive worth.

the thing about doa is not everyone in the world plays fighting games, people who dont can get into doa, people who do play fighting games (todays ones) are conditioned into thinking a certain way.
if doa4 came out straight after super turbo it would be more famous cause it basically shares the same philosophy, so you would understand the principles and would be more comfortable with it
