Why play 3S?

SEAN AND TWELVE

that is all

Its already been said to death: but easy to learn and hard to master IMO this is good because new people can break into the comptetition, rather than having the same people at a tournament all the time.

Also I don’t think Chun and Ken are that bad(IMO even though i know people are just gonna ask me what I’m smokin), the reason I think YCK win so many tournaments and I honestly believe this is because they are played by a large majority of 3rd strike players. If you have a 40 person touney and 20 enter as yun 5 as chun, 5 as ken, and 10 random lower tiered characters of course Yun, Chun, or Ken will win.

3s to me should be played because it has the most competition, its FAIRLY balanced, it looks amazing, Its easy to learn and as you see progress you wanna keep playing as opposed to other games where it’ll take you weeks or months before you become semi decent and IMO if an opponent is on your level you have to outsmart him(most times, because I will admit that parry can be random as all hell at times)

I play 3s becuase it’s exciting…especially when playin with people who actually know what there doing.Close matches are a blast!

Once again this shows the people that play 3s LIKE THE GAME…which goes back to my point precisely…

**I mean seriously to play a game for the competition then truthfully guys we are all in the WRONG ARENA…

If you really wanted to play something for the competition then you need to be playing Halo or CounterStrike or Madden…something where the competition is higher and the money is more…get my POV??

But you dont…you are here like me on SRK because you LIKE IT…you like what you are doing!!!

Case closed.

Why 3S?

Because I hate Street Fight 4.

Why…SF4 has the best characters!

im a smely slut bag and i love the cock

 Okay…lol.

I never saw the game back in the day. it was nowhere to be seen.I just knew about the game beacuse I saw it on tv in this extinct program"nintendo mania" they have this small segment where they talked about arcades. I also remember there was this big national tournament of alfa 2 or 3 I can’t remember which one. Mexico plays everything and can kick your ass in any game any time, any day. thrust me

U.S doesn’t play fighting games, they just like capcom that’s all

Well, time to pack it in guys. The whole nation apparently doesn’t play fighting games. We had a good run pretending here.

Good thing the SRK populace means next to nothing in the grand scheme of things.

3S is the game that’s closest to being in the perfect situation. Comp is good, gameplay is always fun and can be fresh/exciting in key situations (haha, maybe that perceived randomness that people hate is what’s keeping it alive for so long), extra gimmicks make the game appealing (graphics, animation, music). It’s still big in Japan, we actually have it in arcades here, CPS3 just got decrypted which is supposedly going to make it easier for people who buy 3S hardware, and it still attracts new players. And despite people’s whining, it’s still a deep enough game to play in tournaments. And after all that, random people who play fighting games with their parents in their basement won’t play 3S because “option select is too good” or some shit.

But I still think playing a game solely because it has the most comp is dumb. If I didn’t think 3S was a good game, I wouldn’t play it. I’m just thankful it’s the biggest one in Toronto.

Don’t make me bring out the lecture again.

oh i thrust you… no homo

Nice way to misinterpret/misread my post. I don’t see why it’s such a problem to play a game just because that’s where the comp. is. I/others may think 3s is the worst SF gameplay wise, but it’s still SF and i’ll play it over any other game and i’m sure many other people feel the same.

You fucking pussies don’t have enough balls to fight for the future.

End topic.

That usually gets a STFU and hours of game mechanics arguing. Never again.

Like I said, I would play 3S if people would actually play the damn thing around here on campus. Even if I suck hard at it for not playing it in so long. Till then, I play almost anything, Guilty Gear, Tekken, Melty Blood, so on. I enjoy fighting too much to care about any damn scene.

There’s no maybe about it.

Players that would get fucked up in games that reward more thorough thought aren’t as easily punished in 3S. It’s simple. Worse players can do better at 3S than they can at other games, so they continue to play.

Wasn’t really talking about bad players though. I’m guessing the “bad players can still win” doesn’t apply in Japan or in any group of good players yet the game is still popular. But I see what you’re saying. Too bad I’ve seen shit players win sometimes in every game, seeing that happen seems to be a common stumbling block in all fighting games.

sweet, a game where i can beat out people with superior thought and strategy with my supposed “worse” skills? i love the looks on their faces when they lose to a scrub like me after they oh so carefully analyzed our match. :lovin:

doesn’t it hurt to know that no matter how much skill YOU have at your iori fag games, i’ll always get more wins than you because of my scrubbiness? and +respect cause everyone thinks 3s is skill? man, i love winning.

“Everyone”?

Umm… sorry to break it to you, but you guys in FGD don’t matter.

There’s only been one 3S player in this thread that can be considered close to top level, and even he said the game sucks.

Random FGD people that will never win shit don’t matter. You’re not even good enough to realize why the game sucks. Good shit.

EDIT- Honestly, it’s simple. In any SF game, if you’re playing better than your opponent, not only will you have a life lead, but you’ll be in control of the match from a positional standpoint.

In 3S, that’s just not the case. Your opponent is never more than one random button tap away from resetting the match. That’s why the game sucks. 3S doesn’t reward superior play enough.

If I remember previous comments made on SRK correctly, you can add Edma to the list of high-level players that think game sucks
