This brings up another question: If you only play a game cuz other people play it/it’s popular…as opposed to playing games you like regardless of lack of other players, does that make you a “scenester”?
no because its pretty much accepted that a wider variety of comp makes a game more enjoyable

You miss half the point(and half the fun) of fighting games without comp. One reason I don’t play virtua fighter anymore even though I loved it to death.
I only had people to play with me back during vf2, After vf3 and 4 by myself all the time I realized it is lame.

every game has some sort of option select. and option select isn’t fool proof either. people still get thrown/mixed up even at the highest levels of play.
Of course every game has option select and option select isn’t my problem, the way it works in 3s is what i don’t like. I’ll still play it though.

I dont know…I live in a latinamerican country in which all that is played SVC Chaos and CvS2. And the sad thing is that most people (like 90%) dont have ANY F***ING IDEA what the tiers are:confused:. Even the people that managed to win tournaments think Killer Instinct is better than SF because it has super long combos:confused:. Chaos and CvS2 (and KOF) are played all the time, but I just dont like to play them.
So I just play on Kaillera and LIVE the games that I like (even if the games that I like dont have much traffic) whenever I can (and that means when the connection is not shit

Bullshit. SNK is on the rise…I dont seek approval to play a game. I can play 3s and other games and do with other people though I PREFER my SNK games. It aint about which game has the most competition or whatever I say fuck that.
Play what you wanna play regardless of what people say. If you are playing a game to “fit in” then you are playing it for the wrong reason and won’t enjoy it…and your success will be limited…PERIOD.
But if you play it because you like it then you will have success…
Hence why Arturo doesnt give a fuck if OGS hate on Arcana Heart or not…he’s still gonna play it and hes doing very good at it…
Same with me and SNK…I will play ANYTHING…Capcom, Tekken, whatever…period…
To show people I CAN…but I will be better at SNK because that is what I like more!!

Polarity its relevant because if you wonder why people are playing SVC Chaos…its a different culture…SNK in general is more popular in other countries…so yes SVC Chaos is more popular than 3s in MANY countries…once again we were conquered by Capcom first…SNK conquered these other countries first…
They look at why we are playing ST etc…and cant understand it…
And I understand both…its about who conquered who FIRST.
So what us Americans consider trash over here is GOLD elsewhere…
