It started with that stupid character down sound.
You know how it is, something really annoys you? Go to the internet and complain!

Exactly the point I’ve been trying to make. People bitched to holy hell about SFxT yet they’d still buy it. I bought it because nothing Capcom did made me feel “cheated” or offended and I personally enjoyed (and still do) the game. I felt like it was worth my money. I’ve never understood people who buy these games then cry about it forever.
I also hate that BS “sticking it to the man” nonsense people use to try and promote Skullgirls. Its indie, yes, but its a damn good game by its own right and it doesn’t need to be condescended to just for the sake of proving a point.
I swear, people are so ridiculous. Everyone’s so coddled and comfortable with their 1st world problems that they have to sensationalize and rally behind illogical “rebellions” and “Revolutions” in attempt to appeal to their entitlement issues and hurt feelings.
People need to grow up.

You can support an indie developer without having a “stick it to the man” attitude. Those are independent things. Buying something else isn’t actually sticking it to the man at all. Not buying “the man’s” product is sticking it to the man, if you feel that serious about it. Some people just have to be as loud as possible about it, for whatever reason.
I do feel like people are blowing some of the blind evangelism stuff out of proportion. It’s there, but I don’t feel like it’s there in nearly the capacity some people are making it out to be. It starts evoking some sort of counter-hipsterism in which people competing for who is less interested in the other side, and everything gets retarded. Don’t do that, people.

3 posts in 2 days, so terrible!
When did this scene become so pussified?

You can’t even be obnoxious right.
Not that its terribly significant, but answering questions is a bit different, should I have not answered you when you asked me what I didn’t like about it?
I bought the goddamn game today, and I find that aspect really unbearable, which is why the subject came back after yesterday. I went out of my way to try/support/give a chance to a game I wasn’t prone to like in the first place (simply not my kind of game), allow me a little vent instead of getting quite so defensive.
.
Still, I am going to semi-gracefully withdraw from this conversation, I like you guys and its really not worth pissing you off or getting pissed off myself (and yes, this stuff does annoy me too) to keep on it.
it’s fine not to like it, just like it’s fine for me to be annoyed by how melodramatic you’ve been about it. I was done until you starte taking about how pussification and whatever.
Why not try it out through the demo/trial version before committing to buying a digital game you can’t return?
This game ain’t my cuppa. Too wierd, don’t click with any of the characters, combo system feels weird: you can cancel a special into a super, but not from a normal move? Pass. Too bad that mlp fighter can’t get funding and approval by hasbro. That seems to be put together in a way more coherent fashion…plus I know those characters. Mike, feel proud of what you’ve done. It must’ve taken a lot of effort to make this. It’s just too quirky for me.
…I’m pretty sure this isn’t the case.
>support a game I don’t like
Nah no thanks. I got the demo, gave it a shot, but it’s no GG or MVC2.
It’s not even Blazblue. I’d support just the netcode if I could. It was super over-hyped and I’m going to shit on it when people try to tell me how great it is, but that’s more or less me being tired of the Flavor of the Month thing going around this scene and this forum especially hard right now.
i tried, dude. Maybe it uses the whack-ass timing method ssf2t uses (never could do it in that game, either).
I dunno, I don’t have any trouble cancelling Peacock’s standing H into Argus Agony.
i’ve only had the demo for a few minutes but many of filia’s normals seem cancellable into her supers. same with the grappler character with arms on her head. actually i was suprised that her boulder super combos from some of her normals despite the long animation at the beginning. i don’t know what i’m doing though.
No joke. This is the best online fighter. Absolutely perfect. Buy this just to send message regarding netcode. It’s $15, skip buying that double feature DVD Stallone movies at Walmart and buy this. Just torrent those Stallone movies.
Honestly I felt like I owed Mike at least trying the complete package, I’ve been going back and forth with him about his game for over a year. Plus its important to be fully informed.
Also he’s living the dream, I thought it was worth $15 on its own.

That's like all fighting games that have supers, most games you can't really expect to hit with them any other way :p
