you love 3s? i’ve read some of your posts in the past and you could have fooled me. (maybe i’m thinking of someone else?)
anyways, if they could actually redo all the sprites AND make it look good then i’m all for that aspect. plus if they were going to do a good job with the visuals i wouldn’t be scared of the new characters matching up art wise to the older ones.
there’s one way to keep the game balanced but still make 3s chun and yun fans happy and that would be to make all characters have stupid good shit in their gameplay. i think limitations can make a game more interesting but i’d like to see a street fighter game go all out with ridiculously strong characters no matter who you choose to play with.
I’ve acknowledged the game had issues, but I never said anything malicious about it to the point where I bash it. I think you might be thinking of someone else. Out of all the SF games, 3s is my fave.
A proper HSF3 would be a waste. Not enough interesting versions of characters. You’d have 2I characters (2I Akuma, Ibuki, Sean, Yang, Deijin Ryu) for the most part running roughshod over everyone save for NG Ibuki, NG Oro, NG Y/Y and NG Yang. The best 3S characters (Yun/Chun) would be mid tier at best.
quoting this so everyone can see it. the best way to ‘balance’ a cast is always to give more options to characters that are lacking since ‘balance’ is not really enjoyable if it means each character is limited and boring.
a good example is a game like mvc2 where if it were to be ‘rebalanced’ one of the best choices that could be made would be to give characters who are all but useless more and more options and tweaks until they can compete with their god-tier castmates
I doubt it. SFII had the huge nostalgia factor and MvC2 had marvel characters. I’d bet that only about 1 out of every 15 people who bought HD Remix even know SFIII happened.
Thanks for the link, i watch the whole video, I knew the will put that match at the end of the video, PLEASE CAPCOM DON:T KILL THIS MASTER PEACE MAKING IT HD REMIX.
Definitely some changes with the CE characters in the AE version. AE version of CE. Bison is less broken, due to the fact that his Psycho Crusher was only 4 hits on block, while the arcade version it was a phenomenal 6-hits on block, plus his lockdowns have more room escape, where as the arcade CE version if you were locked down it was impossible to get out.
CE. Sagat>>>O. Sagat imo, better damage ouput, better dizzy and has the same Tiger Shot speed. Even HF. Sagat is worth mentioning due to what he can do with his Tiger Shots.
It depends on what a persons view of “dream match”, because to me, I never liked any other version of Ryu besides CE/HF, and to be able to pit him against say…ST. Sim would in my eyes be a dream match, because I’m using the best version of Ryu up against the best Sim of all time. That was what made HSF2 fun to me, and even though not every character was competitive per say however that didn’t bother me at all, because you would have to do a serious overhaul in characters like WW. Ryu to make him as good as his other counterparts (Hadouken is not that good, Shoryuken and hurricane kick very unsafe) and that to me defeats the purpose of him representing his WW counterpart.
Even with all of the madness in HSF2 and the bitching there was still alot of playable characters in that game.
QFT!
People need to go back and realize how stupidly good Ibuki was in 2nd Impact and NG, those two versions of Ibuki easily makes her the most powerful SFIII character of all time. She literally would rape you even without having meter, rape you even more when she had meter for Ex-Options and rape you even harder once she had stocked SA’s. 2I Gouki, all I can say is, just play the game, and use his dive kick and then go try 3s Gouki and you’ll be wondering why you even took your time to use 3s Gouki.
2I Yang>>>3S Yang by like 50 miles, can confirm so much better, SAI is two stocks giving Yang Ex-Mantis options plus the ability to do great damage due to SAI. Ryu in 2I having 2-stock Denjin with a SA bar that is only as big as that of Ken’s SAIII can already spell the rape factor that 2I Ryu will and can do.
If I’m not mistaken, I could have sworn the UOH’s in 2I were much faster then they were in 3S??? The NG characters also hit hard as hell as well as their ability to stun is off the charts, I remember NG Tengu Stones Oro having his super lasting like 15 seconds which caused havoc. The only two characters from 3S worth a prayers chance to compete against the might of the NG/2I characters would be Yun and Chun.
My enjoyment if they ever made HSF3 would be to play someone who only experienced 3S, watch them pick 3s Ken, and with me selecting 2I Sean and I’m sure a chuckle would come from my opponent and a comment like “Your going to pick a joke character up against a Top-Tier?!” However only to see their face go wtf during the match up when I drain a payload of their life without ever even using a super art yet… Sean’s 2-Hit Shoryuken ='s .
I would like a 4th version of SF3 for XBLA. Higher resolution, better balancing of the tiers, and a few more characters. Call it Street Fighter 3 Fourth Clash!
