Why no snk games at evo

Well XII itself is just garbage by SNK standards so I don’t even want to mention that trash.

It’s not just SNK games though, it’s games that that just haven’t been released here that get shunned. Too many good games are being overlooked by this generation simply because Ryu isn’t in it or Justin Wong doesn’t play it.

Like I said, Dark Geese is doing the right thing, coming to people who may not have the means to get out very much to get to those types of settings.

But if I did somehow show up at Evo, it’ll just be to play Alpha with some really good players. Side show shit so I don’t think it’s worth me traveling out there right now.

If it’s not worth it then why the fuck are you even posting? You sound exactly like the people you were bitching about because they are saying “uninformed bullshit”

What games are being over looked? Oh you mean the ones that the companies don’t want to sponsor evo like Examu () and whoever the fuck makes Melty Blood?

Oh, and VF5R right? Oh wait, it’s not even on console.

SCIV? It was an over looked game and guess what, it got to Evo.
Guilty Gear got back into evo.
BlazBlu got on the big screen.
TvC got cancelled due to lack of interest/availablity but it will likely be in next years lineup due to the US port.

The SNK games everyone wants at evo are usually too old or just too boring to have, plus as I mentioned, the lack of actual players.

I’m not even going to touch on the mention of DG cause he is a fucking tool and I do not consider him part of the SNK scene.

Dude, stop acting like an asshole. Speak normally.

Kid asked why there isn’t any SNK games at Evo and I just told him why. That’s all.

SCIV wasn’t overlooked so cut that shit out. Everybody brought that game when it came out but I guess it just wasn’t everyones cup of tea.

The only reason GG was taken out, from what I gather, was the debate over which version to have in. Some like Slash, others fancy AC. And if I’m not mistaken, AC came out right around the time AC was coming out on console but hadn’t been tested by good players to see if it was even feasable.

Blaz Blue was new and shiny + it had a U.S. release. Not to mention the steam it had from the GG crowd in the first place.

TvC is the only surprising thing you’ve posted in the list even though I can see why it wasn’t continued.

And for your last “statement”, I think 2002 UM would have been a great fit considering the huge Mexican population out that way. And it’s a real treat to watch if you can’t play it.

Oh, I see you edited that last part in.

I don’t like how DG plays (Always top tier/BOSS tier) nor do I care for his ADD riddled diatribes, his constant talking through out his videos and such. But I give him credit when it’s due.

If you think he’s doing a bad job, do better.

I know this probably started out as a troll thread and shouldn’t have made it to 2 pages but I need a solid rebuttal to my case before I disregard this thread.

Looking at the OP’s AV and join date are the writing on the wall.

You would probably get a bigger turn out recruiting fools in your local Latin club on cumbia nights than you would at Evo itself. It’s a regional thing. To make matters worse most SNK players don’t even know what Evo is let alone post on boards.

I bet EVERYBODY in the club is cold as a motherfucker in it though LOL:rofl:

KOFXII was SNK’s last hope to have a fighting game be on the Evo lineup. Of course that failed so you are going to Final Round every year and are going to like it.

Better setting anyway honestly. Still no rebuttal so close this thread.

Evo fanboy booty pain was applied.

SNK FG’s will never reach the light of Evo.

  1. Weak Community, way too spread out (A.I. in Socal is the only real KOF outlet in the U.S. I can immediately think of)
  2. Players, several half-hearted or casual players, several newer players complain about the overall difficulty of MID-TIER competitive play
  3. World’s best players (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) refuse to travel. It’s really not worth their time, not because of low turnouts, but lower skill level.
  4. SNK FG’s being almost 100% arcade-oriented makes people far from an arcade, or a console player at a serious disadvantage in terms of skill development.
  5. SNK’s weak marketing in the U.S. and experimenting polices with games.

The Final Round stereotype is mostly because FR supports SNK games. Not saying Evo should or ever will, but that is a determining factor (seriously, you can’t go to a tournament and not play any of their supported games)
I personally find myself at fault for being a fan of a franchise of FG’s that primarily market in Asia, but just like Brawl fans (I know, messed up comparison) we must make our own scene separate from the larger scale Capcom/3D scene

I tried to tell em…Gotta make it out to FR one of these days. Wanna play Deadly Rave Neo in person again.

yeah basically SNK goes about a lot of their business like it’s still the 90s, which works OK in japan but not so much here.

i think they could pull a decent enough player base for evo if they were to use GGPO for KOF13, and who knowoh wait this SNK we’re talking about here. welp,

13 needs to be scrapped if it’s going to be like 12. That’s just the beginning of what’s wrong with them right now.

because they suck jsut look at this shit from snk yet again…

Oh no, not another half-assed sequel to 404 Not Found?!

SNK doesn’t care enough about the community to push for the games to be added. They’re also making it increasingly harder for players to learn to play their games solidly by getting progressively worse netcode. Lazy developers reap little rewards.

It’s not even working in Japan. KOF12 was dead out of the gate for the most part.

Who ever said players need good netcode, or netplay for that matter to get better? Our complaining is not gonna get SNK to start treating us Americans better.
Your first comment is partially true, the community they lack any concern for is the U.S. Japan being more arcade oriented (which is where SNK’s home market is) with the abundance of arcades, there is guaranteed revenue (not too sure about it though). If you want a FG franchise where you can find local competition and great competition in either arcades or online, you are in the wrong franchise.

And to top it all off, I doubt great netcode on top of better gameplay will get KOF in the EVO lineup anyways. Doesn’t matter if SNK makes a great game if Capcom and Tekken purists still look down on the series as a whole. We might get a shot, but if turnout even appears low compared to any SF, we’re dropped

The constant complaints against SNK and XII need to stop. If I’m correct, Capcom also had lack-luster FG’s in the past which I’m sure they wish they could go back and fix or get rid of completely. But, they still retain their respective fanbases. Whether SNK considers XII a bad game or not, they are giving us another KOF, so any complainers need to just be patient and wait.

this.

a damn shame too since ngbc wasnt bad and kofxi was awesome. dunno about the 98 and 2002 remix, but they dropped the ball on kof12.

You’re really saying that Evo is not as good as FR cause one game? And of all games, KOF12? KOF/SNK cocksucking fanboy ass rape delivered.

KOF 12 is trash. We can add your garbage ass up there with it. Kobun toy dick licking ass troll anal destruction handed.
