Yeah, I already figured out how you can give the high base powerlevel with his character specific capsules and stuff (think it gets him around 150%), but I just don’t know the commands for his normals to start combos and set-ups (even if they are simple, I don’t know what they are).

Well if you can use Adult Goku then you have the bases for Kid Goku. He shares a good portion of the starters plus some plus more, I can not recall them at this point.

I was a Bardock player myself. If I had at least five bars and you had only one ki bar, I could strip down three to four bars of health back when I played it hard.

I thought Ultimate Ninja Storm was fun. Proved to me once again that the standard motions in games like SF/GG are totally unnecessary to make a game that would be great for VS against other humans. Didn’t have to consider getting a stick because my thumbs would explode from trying to pull off moves on the DS3 that were clearly designed to the tolerances of arcade sticks. (Which is just stupidity for a game that is going to come out on a console.)

Oh, in response to the OP, I never really got the chance to play the Naruto games. I saw a few vids by Willivolution, but they didn’t interest me from a viewer’s standpoint, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t fun so I can’t judge.

What are the mechanics like?

It also never got a real competitive following because of what I think was the game’s best feature, the customization. For characters to get really fleshed out and interesting you had to literally spend hours fighting the computer just to fill out a skill tree. Let alone edit it how you wanted.

I would think the main thing against Super DBZ, was just because of what it was.

Most “serious” FGers didn’t want to mess with the game because of “lol, DBZ”, while the more casual DBZ fans didn’t want to mess with the game, largely, because of what you and I already covered: it wasn’t “DBZ enough” for them.

I’d like to think that, if C&M had the gall to try and make such a game, and attached it to another anime/manga property (ranging from anything above) BESIDES DBZ, such a game might have gone over a lot better for them.

Truly a pity…

So yeah they’ve moved on. If we haven’t heard anything now we probably never will.

Maybe not Super DBZ 2 (in fact, I’m hoping NOT at this point), but I’d like to think that, with all the possible money that could be made from this FG renaissance, maybe it’s too early to discount C&M just yet. Who knows, they may be working on something, even as we speak…

DBZ is fucking HUGE in japan. but the scene over there is dead too.

and just about everyone I’ve talked to into fighting games just didn’t like having to play for hours before characters became unique and interesting. So you couldn’t just pop it in a play a few with friends. Both people have to create characters and put time in before hand before they can really start sessioning with it.

granted I haven’t talked to alot of people about it, but I got that answer from more than one person and it makes sense

I like Naruto games and loved DBZ Budokai games. DBZ B3 was the best DBZ game, and was fun as shit. I could see it played at tournaments if it had players.

I wholeheartly agree. I admit the Tenkaichi series mirror what DBZ fights look and feel like, but I could care less about that; as a solid fighter it fails pretty damn hard. I also found it really, really boring.

So, yeah, I stopped at Budokai 3, although I see people saying good stuff about Super DBZ…

I have Naruto Narutimate Hero 1-3, and Accel 1-2 on PS2, so I have much, much (maybe too much) luv for Naruto lol

AFAIK Accel 1 is also tourney-viable. Accel 2 is ruined by assists.

I myself loved the whole skill tree mode in the console version of SDBZ; lots of options to mix and match in terms of stats and specials.

I didn’t like that aspect. It forced me to quit the game, because I was playing it in the arcades, with barely anyone else playing the game period. How am I suppose to build up my points to unlock shit? Single player grind? No thanks. : (
