You know I would have actually bought UNS if CC2 had bothered to attempt an online mode at all, or if it was cheap. I thought the demo was pretty cool, but the game itself is still full price over here ;_;
Super DBZ
Everyone’s favorite anime game that they never played
I was always hoping they’d make a second. The system was solid but I was hoping they’d release a sequel and really refine it to something people would pay more attention to.
Like for one, characters being more fleshed out without putting hours into leveling and unlocking skills.
The GNT series are not bad games at all. Made by the guys of Eighting who brought us the Bloody Roar games.
Yeah, I wise the Crafts and Meisters made a sequal to SDBZ. The game had lots of potential. The Budokai series are great fighters. I like the Shin Budokai games since the game engine is really solid. However, the only problem with the Shin Budokai games is that I can’t use my arcade stick on the PSP.
I love the Narutimate Hero/Accel series. I love the fact that the game focuses on the skills of the characters, plus on the arena and items.
i believe that the only competitive naruto game is Narutimate hero 3, the others are way unbalanced…
And about DB games i think shin budokai 2 for psp is the best …i hate the tenkaichi ones…
That’s funny cause I like the Tenkaichi series the best. They feel more like a dbz fight since you can fly around and that up+[] addition with insane strict timing is perfect in the latest one. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
This.
Plus, if you want to hear about Naruto love on a day by day basis, go to Narutoforums.com–it’s the Naruto tard capital of the world.:china:
Naruto GNT4 had 50+ people tourneys (not counting anime cons, cause that’s 90% scrubs), and it had a competitive scene around the US in a few specific regions. Unbalanced? Yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s not competitive. 3S, MvC2, CvS2 are all unbalanced, and they get some of the highest numbers in the US for tourneys.
Nobody really plays GNT4 much anymore. A few areas play Revolution 2, or EX3, but the once-way-bigger GNT4 community is a thing of the past at this point. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.
Agreed.
But I guess the main thing was, most DBZ fans were spoiled by their Tenkaichis and Budokais, and were not open to anything else. Much less something that played closer to SF than any thing they expected.
I hope that C&M come back soon. With this era being a nice-sized “renaissance” for Fighting Games, now would be a good time to come out with something else.
And personally, I would prefer to be something original. Trying to appeal to the same DBZ fans who spurned them the first time would be a pointless exercise, imo.
Or hell, try another anime/manga IP to base a game off of…like say…Jojo/Steel Ball Run…Berserk…Saint Seiya…(continues listing bad-ass series)
i just looked up super dbz did it have an arcade release at all?
cause it looks like the dbz fighter i was playing in the basement lvl at alpha station in shin okubo
I used to play Super DBZ in middle school. Good game, good game.
Thread already answered.
Super DBZ was the best, and yes it was an arcade game first, then ported to console.
Super DBZ isn’t that old, is it? It’s like 2 years old at best IIRC, I dunno.
I am thinking of the SNES DBZ game…or is this something else entirely? If it is what you say, oops. My bad.
Edit: Looked it up. I was thinking of another game.
Yes, it is totally another game. We are talking about the arcade game that came out like 2 years ago and was ported to PS2 later. I think it came out like July 06, I don’t remember. So that’s like 3 years ago.

I played the crap outta the NGNT series, for a couple years with Heartnana, that game was broke on so many levels, but it was super fun. Its very scrub friendly as well.
Because no one wants to play a game based on a story where 12 year old ninjas are secretly gay and just want to sodomize each other.
waaaaah
noone wants to play my game

I love SDBZ. Too bad not a lot of people plays it. The thread on that is dead. R.I.P
I thought people liked the Naruto games on gamecube. Shit, didn’t DJ B13 make a combo video for TenTen?
I myself loved the whole skill tree mode in the console version of SDBZ; lots of options to mix and match in terms of stats and specials.
A sequel with more fleshed out movelists/combos and online play would do wonders.
Does anybody know what Craft & Meister are working on at the moment?
That’s the thing about super
It didn’t have a casual following because it lacked the aesthetic appeal of the Budokai series(explosions and powering up etc) and had arcade motions that were really difficult for casual gamers. Not to mention the lack of replay value without story mode and a bunch of useless challenges.
It also never got a real competitive following because of what I think was the game’s best feature, the customization. For characters to get really fleshed out and interesting you had to literally spend hours fighting the computer just to fill out a skill tree. Let alone edit it how you wanted.
It was an awesome concept executed poorly.
/rant. lol. I know I’m probably preaching to the choir here
A jojo fighter spanning all 7 parts would be what dreams are made of.
Saint Seiya and One Piece are two other animes I think would make awesome fighting games.
I’d kill for a decent One Piece fighter as a matter of fact. Grand Battle is a fun powerstone substitute, but not something worth playing long term
I checked their website a good 6-7 months ago wondering this actually
They were making some type of game for Code Geass.
So yeah they’ve moved on. If we haven’t heard anything now we probably never will.
