That didnt answer my question. How is the namco balltop compared to a sanwa jlf?
It´s the same I think! Namco stick has a yellow balltop from Sanwa, if isn´t sanwa smell like!
I’m comparing the two right now…
The Namco is closer to Seimitsu, with a larger flat plane on the bottom where it screws in. The seem is more noticeable, so it has more ‘texture’ i guess you could say.
In my opinion the Namco does live up to the hype. It has the smallest footprint of any stick I’ve ever used AND is weighty, so you can easily play in your lap, even if it normally is uncomfortable to you. Additionally, both the stick and the buttons have a different feel than anything else out there, but tbh the stick is nothing to write home about. I sort of consider the buttons to be halfway between Sanwa and Seimitsu, with a flat feel, and a switch and tension that is somewhere between the two as well.
I would bury all Namcos on earth for a Balltop shaft for Suzo Inductive… ::cries::
Got mine for $24, put in an ls-33 with a 55 spring. nice now.
the only thing i dont like on namco is the top pannel paint is too easily destroyed if you play too frequently with it.

So I ended up getting caught in Namco fever as well and just snatched one from Ebay for just under 35$ and I’m wondering how easy/hard is it to swap out the stick+buttons and which would fit in best?

I got mine in the trading outlet for $40. Dual Modded for 360/PS3. OBSF-39s and a JLF. I’m a happy camper. The stick is a little beat up, but I plan on fixing it up this summer.
Modded namco stick. Ps3 cthulhu, sanwa buttons stock stick, 3S:OE Ken art.
I can just imagine at some point in time, someone will be enterprising and produce a run of Namco case clones.
I’m surprised nobody’s done that yet for this stick or the Agetec.
The sticks are getting rarer to find in decent shape…
i doubt it though, just a small portion of stick user like namco. probably more than 90% stick user will prefer TE over namco
