Why is SNK vs Capcom Chaos a "bad" game?

I was jusy curious as to why this game is consdiered bad by fighting game standards. Certainly it’s no 3s or 2002, but I’m wondering why MANY people hate this game?

gcfs

filler

Can anyone string some words together and give me an answer?

I hate that game. Dps have giant priority and it’s very unbalanced with infinites and shin akuma’s infinite supers. Who would make a character with inf supers!? The animations are really choppy and the graphics suck too. You win by abusing moves in that game.

hahaha, sorry, i’ve actually never even played the game, just seems to be the #1 thing i see people complain about

guard cancel front step.

although zero touching himself at night is a good guess.

Seriously, these are my opinions of the game (no, I didn’t pay any heed to the warnings and went out and still bought it).

horrid graphics. We’re talking pre-sf2 graphics here. The animation has so few frames its painful to watch.

Guile and the rest of the charge characters have exacting moves. It’s extremely hard for me to get specials out of these guys.

lots and lots and lots of abusable moves. Shin Akuma makes ST akuma look like a joke. If he blocks, you die.

The main reason i hate it is because the motoins are crap.say you do guiles somersault.you have to press up then kick to do it.but in cvs you can do it at the same time.QCf QCB motions are shitted too.its not as fluent as cvs2

its a fun game it just has serious issues

SvC is not a fighting game.

Do a search for GCFS and “broken” and you will get a rough idea of what`s wrong with the game.

The graphics are bad, and the execution for special moves is very exacting, but neither of these are the main reasons why this game sucks.

When this game was being developed, it was only game-tested with the main characters. So none of the secret characters or bosses were tested for balance. Because of this, characters like Geese and Zero have easy infinite combos, which eliminates any chance of balance.

The game developers also had no idea how badly GCFS would fuck up gameplay.

Personally, even if the gameplay was excellent, Id still avoid this game because the difficulty in executing moves makes it no fun. If I can execute flashkicks consistently in every fighter to date, but cant execute them consistently in this game… theres no incentive for me to adapt to this system either, since I wouldnt even be rewarded with good gameplay.

Avoid this game at all costs.

GCFS just kills any chance of this game being playable. That and the character balance…its just really horrid, alot of the chars are crap tier just due to gcfs alone.

The game was super broken. Fucked up hit boxes, unbalanced hidden characters, gcfs, which was badly implemented, crappy sounds. I founds the graphics average and inconsistent. Very low animation due to the hardware. This game could have used 1 more year into dev.

But the 1 player mode is pretty fun. But nobody cares about 1 player anyway.

lol i was gonna say that

what’s GCFS? I’m not to familiar with the game either…

To be quite honest, I thought that the character choices in this game were the real reason why many did not enjoy this game. I mean, if they were going to exclude Morrigan, a ‘female shoto’, from the game, why put Demitri, another ‘shoto clone’, over someone like Felicia or B.B.Hood in? And let’s be honest, how many of you wanted Kasumi and Balrog over people like Ibuki, Blue Mary, B.Jenet, Kula or Cham Cham?

Rosters have nothing to do with it. Nobody wanted the SF3 cast to be like that, but the game is still good regardless.

The number one problem in SVC is the shitty hit-detection. Then GCFS, then the balance. Every game has balance problems (ST has Akuma, which is just as bad as Zero and Geese), so thats not the worse. Its the sloppy hit detection that really makes it all fall apart.

Still looks better than CFJ.

SVC has Vega, CFJ has Demitri. SVC has Shiki, CFJ has Felicia. For Geese, Mai and so on, theres Sakura, Zangief and so on. And lets not forget Dhalsim or Demitri, which animate as nicely (or better) than the down-graded SF3 characters in CFJ.

The difference between CFJ and SVC “look” is that everybody in SVC belongs in the same game, while CFJ has the absolutelly ridiculous “Alex fighting Demitri” issue.

I have to admit I enjoy the game; it certainly doesn’t have any tournament potential, but it’s a flashy intrueging play. I’ve never fully immerced myself into SvC, so I’m not familiar with the flaws everyone is listing aside from roster tiers.
It does seem, however, that EVERYONE agrees on the particular flaws of this game.

Yes, and that’s why it died within a month (more or less)

All about the Chun easy combo and infinite.

One button infinite

SVC also has chun, guile, and tessa
