Why Infiltration is the BEST PLAYER in the WORLD ATM

Infiltration has always dominated Poongko. This isnt some new feat.

all this means for us is that 3s and SF4 online are gonna be flooded with even more Akumas. I expect a lot more dash up DPs and demon attempts in the next week or two.

Better than the poongko wannabes god those were hard times fucking seth.

Right now you have to say that Infiltration is without a doubt 1 step ahead of everybody else in SF4. His skill and especially his preparation is bar none. Preparation being the key here because I don’t believe that his skill is far above everybody else’s. He knew what every top player wanted to do, his domination over Poongko, Wolfkrone, Latif, Dakou, Daigo, Gamerbee, and so on were amazing. After seeing him blow away everybody in the Salty Suite, I was seriously thinking, “could he do the same thing to Daigo”. But I held back and thought, “nah, Daigo will pull through against any of his characters”. Boy was I wrong, Infil made the top 8 look free. Honestly, I really don’t think anybody had a chance. Even the guys we didn’t see him face like Bomb or Xiaohai would have lost pretty easily IMO.

Honestly I want to see more of him vs Latif and Krone just because I loved how he blocked almost everything and actually made them block on wake up and resets sometimes. Which is pretty rare from them. As amazing as this run was, I don’t think he will keep it up though. Everybody will catch up eventually and top 8 won’t look this free again if it’s stacked like it was at EVO. But I also can’t wait to see what kind of adjustments he is going to make in preparation for that.

…winning a major world event also tends to make you “the best player in the world atm”

…until the next major world event.

just sayin.

If you watch some of the jeff schaeffer videos about the days with tomo it addresses this, it also addressed how Jeff did well against Daigo despite not playing in over a decade. There are really two ways to look at it, play against the character and play against the player. I don’t think you’ll ever really see an end to the debate. On one hand, the match up doesn’t change if Daigo is your opponent rather than some scrub. Daigo doesn’t mystically change the game data when he plays. Things aren’t -10 against a scrub and +10 against Diago. The same matchup data still applies regardless of your opponent. That was how Jeff was able to take half the games from Daigo despite not playing in over a decade.
Now playing the player can have its advantages, exploiting weaknesses in their game, finding that they might not know the matchup and exploit their lack of knowledge, or recognizing their habits and developing stragedies against it. But all those are calucated gambles. They may pay off, and they may backfire in your face. If your presuit of playing the player you may youself develop some bad tendancies, you may drift away from the textbook matchup knowledge which in turn eating more damage than you should have and costing you matches at the end. You’re also at risk if your opponent knows that you’re picking up on their habits and decide to drastically change their style on you. suddenly all of these tendancies you were exploiting are no longer there and you may not have the match up knowledge to back up your game. This was how Graham Wolfe beat Daigo in A3 back when Daigo was first flown over here to play against our best.

Everyone studies Diago… Diago can’t study everybody…

Still waiting on influx of Akuma players online. Even though they were always there. Just, more. And less Seth players now.

word?
does the SK govt support and promote them like they do the SK BBoys?
exporting reinvisioned products of foreign cultures as artifacts of their own
hahaa

infiltration is nasty though

The smartest post here ^
I’m pretty sure akuma winning evo this year is gonna definitely help him up the tierlist.
Ohh great now if I pick akuma online and win ima get a hate message, then after I prove the other guys statement wrong his final comeback is gonna be… " well umm umm yeah, your playing akuma he’s high tier anyways. So yeah!! I win this argument automatically.

Infiltration has always been good, get off his sack terry. Yesterday was just his time to shine…

Picture three is ripped from my Facebook.

Does that make me e-famous now?

I’m sure nobody cares about diago

I’ve been saying for two years that Infiltration was arguably a notch above Tokido for the best Akuma. I got laughed at, but he really showed himself to have the right blend this year.

I’ve seriously never played a player that has completely had me confused like Infiltration does. Granted, I haven’t played Poongko, and I’m sure it would be just as difficult, but seriously, Infiltration can confuse you without the vortex. That’s a mark of a good player where you don’t have to rely on gimmicks to confuse your opponent. At one point he’d do that, then completely change, and it’s irritating to play against.

I literally called him as Top 3, possible champion in 2010. I even told people, with a lot of scoffers, that if he had beat Ricky, he could’ve beat Daigo. Now I feel a little vindicated for my position.

And yeah, his entire demeanor this year screamed “This is business for me.” He didn’t even run to the crowd and gloat when he beat Daigo. He just walked off stage like he had just beat random scrub #1432. Still had work to do, no sense in celebrating before it’s over. I think that itself got Poongko in trouble last year: He rushed the crowd just beating Daigo. He still had a lot of work to do to be champion, but for him, he was gunning SOLELY for beating Daigo. He was at the Capcom/Spiritzero tournament in Seoul, won the tournament, then Tokido came up for some exhibition matches. Poongko played him, beat him, and walked over to his buddies.

They start high fiving him and congratulating him, and all he says is (in Korean of course) “Yeah, and Daigo is next!” Notice how he had just beat Momochi at SS last year, and the first thing he talked about was getting up with Daigo.

He had tunnel vision on beating Daigo, that when he got past that, he was unable to maintain that level anymore. Even this year, he looked like his skill was there but his composure wasn’t, which I was hoping for. He made Top 8 last year, he beat Daigo, now he had to prove he was the best, and he didn’t.

Infiltration had been to Top 8, and he wanted to prove he wasn’t a fluke, and he did.

Was Tokido even there this year? He must be laughing his ass off right now. Or crying. Maybe both.

Tokido was eliminated by Momochi or Sako, I cannot remember, or Mago may be. But most of the Japs top players were eliminated by Japs. Kindevu, Sako, Mago, Momochi, Tokido, Uryo, Dogura, Haitani face each other once or twice, cannot remember.

Mago Eliminated Tokido.
Tokido hasn’t had a good year ever since he won WGC in France.
All those games he plays now is taking a toll on his performance it seems.

I agree that infiltration is the best player right now.

watching him it seems like he doesnt have all the dirty tokido setups and his vortex isnt as good, he also often doesnt do max damage combos. he just outplays his opponents which clearly makes him the best imo.

Not every time they’ve played. I’ve seen Poongko do vice versa to Infiltration.

Infiltration just mind fucked everyone one top 8, when he wins evo twice in a row then I will agree to the godlike status, for now hmmm… he is fucking rich lol!

Remember when the Japanese were flaunting all there cash after Revelations from last year? I think we need a Korean version ASAP with Laugh, Infiltration, and Mad KOF flaunting there cash.
