Why Infiltration is the BEST PLAYER in the WORLD ATM

MAD SALTY

Uryo was eliminated by Dieminion
Haitani -Xiaohai
Dogura - gamerbee
Kindevu - poongko

Sako was thrown into losers by Clakey D, Mago by Dieminion, Tokido by Eric Hai… Japan doesnt dominate this game anymore thanks to other players leveling up and doing their research. Its anybody’s game at this point. I think momochi is the only one that didn’t lose or get eliminated by a player from another country.

He didn’t say that they were eliminated by X, but that they fought each other “once or twice” - for those people “got put into losers bracket”.
In Top32 alone, there are Kyabetsu-Momochi, Kyabetsu-Kindevu, Uryo-Mago and Sako-Fuudo, thus 4 JPNvJPN matches (3 USvUS ones).

It’s pretty obvious that this is going to happen given the amount of Japanese participants (12 in Top32, 2nd to 13 US-players), but it’s nonetheless a point that most of the japanese killers took each other out.

Sako was sent to losers by Kindevu and Eliminated by Fuudo. For some reason the official online bracket says Min sent him to losers tho. lol

i remember watching this, and im 100% sure Sako beat Clakey D 2-1. you might mean Eita, who i believe was sent to losers by Clakey D

yeah I was thinking Eita, I don’t know, there were several Japanese players eliminated or beaten by non japanese. Kazunoko, MOV, Uryo, Mago, Fuudo…it makes you wonder how far they would have gone if they didn’t encounter Dieminion or Justin Wong they probably would have been beaten by Infiltration anyway LOL

There was an interview with Daigo following the final matches at Evo. He did the best he could while fighting and he got outplayed by infiltration. He admits he was still mindfucked during the Xiaohai match…

I’m wondering if there is any point in time Infiltration had trouble with any of the players in the pools, semi finals or final…He made the top 8 look free.

Maybe there is some truth to the “Koreans study more videos” thing (the Japanese probably don’t think non-Japanese videos are worth studying, hah), maybe there’s something to Infiltration making out-of-game reads (I think side by side/listening to buttons and stuff is bullshit and should be frowned upon, but obviously some people are attached to the American cab mentality which is fair)… or maybe everyone is just overreacting, as always, because Infiltration has been one of the best for years and simply played OUT OF HIS MIND at Evo, and if you watch Daigo’s earlier matches, he looked just as beast as always. It’s a 1500 man tourney and like 1000 of the players are good and a couple hundred are really sick… shit happens.

I think one of his closest matches was actually against DRS ChrisXXXX’s Ken (I’ll take credit for that as I was helping him with some last minute Akuma prep before pools lol). Oh BTW congrats Chris, if you see this  I was super pumped for you.

I still remember Infiltration saying sim vs hakan is either a 8-2 matchup or 9-1 matchup for hakan and hakan vs fuerte was a 9-1 matchup XD

Infiltration adapts very fast. And the fact that he played SOLID compare to the others that would throw DP because they can FADC it makes me think why he’s the best right now.

I also think when he did that teleport into the corner against PR Rog and on reaction PR Rog did U1, I’m 900% sure Infiltration baited it. Who would think about pressing the buttons for akuma’s U1 while being hit by Balrog’s U1 unless he knew what he was doing ?

Infiltration being the best in the world might be a little stretch. He was the best player that night and that’s all he needed to win evo. IMO for best ever talk he’s gonna have to win multiple years in a row in which he’ll have to deal with a target on his back the size Daigo has.

Sako won the mirror match for sure. But I was suprise to look at the amount of good japanese players need to face each other. If they were put in the right branch, may be top 8 would have more Japanese instead of just Umehara

The players in the top 8 were solid and quite possibly the best representation of the characters they were using. I dont think seeding would have done much for those that were eliminated, All but one (Kyabetsu) of the Japanese players in the Top 16 were eliminated by non-Japanese players. This is the second time Daigo was thrown into losers by a Korean and eliminated by a non-japanese player.

You can actually mash that Ultra and it will come out as a reversal if there’s a gap.

Of course you can, but if I get hit by some Ultra I tend to not expect the last hit to “randomly” miss and just mash some buttons during the animation.
Yeah, I’m fairly sure Infiltration knew exactly what he was doing and had a keen eye for the distance at which this was going to happen.

Everyone who plays akuma should know that balrog’s U1 will often miss the last hit when done from far away…it also happens after dash U1 through a fireball.
Honestly, as soon as I saw the teleport and pr rog did U1 I thought “wow, he got him, let’s see next round”, but then when I saw that the U1 hits were hitting from so far away I was like “ok, last hit is gonna miss and Infiltration is going to win the round” and that’s exactly what happened.

I know i’ve hit that shit quite a few times and i’m no infiltration

And this is what made infiltration look more solid compare to the other people. Maybe it would’ve been better if PR Rog did Dash -> Ultra. Maybe it wouldn’t have done all the hits on akuma but he would definitely have a better position or…just stay alive. Really, big props to infiltration on all of his wins

Couldn’t of said it any better. I know this has happened to me a fair amount of times. Credit to Infil for seizing the opportunity.

He makes it look 10-0 vs sim at salty suite.

Stop calling him infil, i keep thinking of the guy who posts here by that name

To be straight honest, I kinda had a feeling since NCR Infiltration would take it. He destroyed everyone there except for Ricky(I think Ricky got a match) and of course the infamous Demon Flip Throw x 5 in a row he did against PR Rog made me think he would win EVO for sure. I kinda knew the PR Rog match in winners would be free for him after NCR. I don’t know why Eita was favored to win EVO by people, I think it was because he won a Topanga tourney? However, Infiltration played WAY too solid when he came over here and when I saw him play leading up to EVO. Once I saw his name in Winner’s brackets Friday afternoon, I was like oh shit he might take this, especially after playing Dieminion.
