Going through the endings from DS:R, and I have to say Demitri and BB Hood’s endings are pretty damn dark. Shout outs to Jedah for implied infanticide.
Darkstalkers shall need more new characters and those to replace some of the old that served their purpose.
Darkstalkers in total only has 18 characters. New characters yes but no need to get rid of old ones. Maybe redesign a few, but the roster needs to be expanded upon. No reason to get rid of characters.

Welp, SF5 is official now there goes all of little hope for a true Darkstalkers sequel.
I’m pretty surprised they announced SF5 this soon.
imo it doesn’t have the impact or excitement of SF4 announcement.

I’ve been seeing you post this all over various Darkstalkers forums. So what if a new Sequel for Darkstalkers isn’t annoucned? We still have Savior and a community of people who love to play it. For example at this years NEC throwdown we had a 31 person tourney for Vampire Savior. And get this, a decent number of the entrants were women, and I think one of them won the tournament. Not to shaby for a nearly 20 year old game I say. Just enjoy Savior dude. If Darkstalkers 4 happens, great. If not oh well Savior is still going strong.

I love that game, great game, awesome community.
I know because I’ve played for years since it came out on ggpo and met with a lot of the community people in irl too.
Although its really not that relevant in my eyes. Savior is Savior and will always have a place in my heart and memories.
Its just at this point my interest in Savior has pretty much diminished and my desire to see a new one in this franchise is(was) growing and growing.

Fighting games never die as long as people play them, that is the beauty of the genre. There are many excellent older fighters that are a blast to play, however I think it is natural to desire a new entry in your favorite series. You can see the incredible excitement when Xrd was announced, when MVC3 came out, right now with SF5. A new darkstalkers would bring a ton of enthusiasm and probably many new fans. Perhaps this series which can stand shoulder to shoulder with any would finally get the international recognition it deserves.
