Vertical arrows IMO are best applied at 4/5 screen distance it gives you time to react and cancel if they do anything ridiculous to get in and in general puts them into block stun, they’re not so hot at point blank though.
Also, C by Sent does less damage than 3 arrows against Sent IINM
I’d say grounded H arrows are very situational.I cover the ground with Doom plasma beam before using them.
Jumping diagonal arrows are your all purpose zoning tool. Most versatile and covers the most space, easy to confirm into super off of aswell.
I like to punish tron assists by getting in my opponents face with a blockstring then jumping back after theyve called tron. Then just air diagonal arrows into super.
@cheech according to dacidbro he says a properly spaced cr. M will beat out both tron and haggar and you can combo them obv, So I would try and learn that. But the diag arrow thing is indeed good.
I would say the best times to commit to punishing Tron on the ground would be if you’ve already committed to a 5L (then gatling to 2M to punish) or your opponent is at a distance where cancelling the 2M to H would likely cath them off guard and pull a two character combo. In all other regards, jump back diagonal super is safer with similar reward (As long as you have a strong follow up, like Dante Guns super), so why not
That was actually a very entertaining match, you shouldn’t feel bad about doing that FS foot dive, even good Dooms fall into that stupidity.
Maybe switch your team order around to Task/Doom/Ammy? She’s definitely a better anchor even if her XF bonus isn’t that great, you could always just use lvl 1/2 on the others for extra damage.
@tasty I can see how that would make sense since the dhc’s from task to doom would rape face, plus ammy assist allows me to mixup via tri-jumps. Against phoenix though I still think doom is the better anchor.
I like Ammy and Taskmaster both for fighting against Phoenix. Ammy doesn’t care about X-Factor at all since her runaway is too strong (+ homing Okami Shuffle), Task has specific shenanigans that are fun to work, like how his projectile reflector has a hit to it and grants you some invulnerability, plus cancelling Charging Star into it is fun times. Why do you choose to use Doom specifically to fight Phoenix?
@stark well I feel like dooms finger laser super covers a majority of the screen and shuts down phoenixs options. Same goes for the reg version. Plus dooms lvl 3 can be done on reaction to a phoenix mashing in your face, killing her. Plus dooms normals have a lot of priority, so something like xfactor cancel S is really good
Doom is by far more solid than Taskmaster and Ammy for fighting Phoenix. He has good coverage on projectiles, forces x Factor through chip and XFC guard cancel => level 3 is auto kill.
I just wanted to give a shoutout here about hitting me with a full screen footdive to kill me in tournament. If I hadn’t won both rounds afterwards, I might have quit Marvel right there.
I must have facepalmed for a full 30 seconds afterwards.
I really hope that they have the footage from the camera of your facepalm Dacid, you looked like you had just been told you’d written an entire term paper on the wrong subject. Also, Honzo hit some combos yesterday it was a mircale! :o
@dacid always close matches, your dante is a problem for the sheer fact of his stupid normals and bullshit double barrel shotgun machine gun move thing, I need to find out if glaive normals beat dantes standing normals, and need to absorb some of your anime game execution :nunchuck:
@chrisis I feel bad whenever someone doesn’t block such a telegraphed move, that the in game character actually announces, then does, and then brazenly flies through the air at such a snail pace that anyone can block. But that doesn’t keep me from rubbing it in
