Kang is top tier now too. fyi
I generally don’t like the MK games, mainly because the games are just rough to say the least. However, these are the following games in the series that are decent and IMO are worth everyones time:
MK2
UMK3
MKDA
MKSM (both single/coop and versus mode)
I won’t say anything that has already been said about MK2 and UMK3, they are just good. MKDA I’ll admit is the only MK that uses the DA engine that is actually good. It had an decent Just Defend like mechanic (forgot what it was called) and the power up system was interesting. It is a shame that it got worse with MKD and MKA (have not played MKvsDC as of this writing). I’ll have to buy it again when I get the chance.
Maybe people on srk because most of them are Street Fighter fans.MK is great fighting game, just go on some MK forum and you will find many MK fans.
speaking only about the original one:
I didnt like it because the the chacters all had the same moves (basically) not enough diversity.
I can remember have some hella fun playing as Cyrax in MK3 though
What i have seen is that MKDA seems to have pleased at least some fans, not hardocre mk fans but some ppl just liked it or im I wrong?
lol I got negative and positive pts on same post.Damn trolls…
Thats changed in MKDA.Each char had his own set of moves there.
Some people do like MKDA. I was getting interest back in the series because of it. I thought MKDA was a solid game. I played the Hell out of it. Too back then i didn’t know about forums for gaming and such. I hated what happened with MKD and especially MKA.
I cant believe you linked that shithole. Shame on you lol

and of course, the mother of all MK sites, even tho the forums are closed for posting but are still viewable, www.UltimateMK.com
MK is rare fighting game that also has spinoff non fighting games.
I was being sarcastic, lol
I liked “Mortal Kombat 1” because it was the first game to spread rumours and hear-say at the arcades about secret opponents people had incountered.(Reptile in the Pit,or a Error Maccro Glitch that became the character we all know as “Ermac” later on in the series. Noob Saibot is Classic Subzero from MK1 by the way!
The storyline was classic and interesting to me at the time of launch thus I spent alot of quarters!
