cr fp is a better poke than standing lk on the whole. cr fp is and will forever be the shit. whoring it will get you killed, which is the reason there are so many scrubby sagat’s, but that doesn’t take away from it’s effectiveness.
s.lk MAKES c.fp better than it already is…i mean, of course u can’t mash on c.fp like an idiot or something, but i mean; c.fp is by far sagat’s best poke.

Sagat’s c.FP, bah how bout Blanka’s c.FP or Cammy’s c.HK not too manys chars can link the way she does off her fierces. I also believe its overrated. ONly time i ever use it is against rolls. Unless i have lvl 2 or higher in my C bar then i do a super :D.
I liek Sagats MK alot better, has alot more potential, gives him way more comboibility on the groudn and in the air.
CvS2 is hard as fuck to play. Learning curve is through the damn roof too. Been playing it about a year and it is really frustrating to get shoshosho’ed, or people RCing through my fireballs, or getting eaten alive by cammy’s roundhouse.
With all that said I still really like the game and haven’t given up on it. People told me that its hard to play and don’t give up. I think in the end I could live with the bullshit in this game as well as 3s.

PEOPLE (read: ‘casual gamers’) hate CvS2 cause it takes a butload of skill. To learn how to play this game properly at high level you had better be a god, or know of one that can show you the ropes. It’s just so hard to learn.
That said this is why GAMERS love CvS2. This game is top-tier.
A lot of people playerhate on CvS2 because a) its not pretty, b) it requires lots of time to get decent at, and c) people who don’t play it swear that RCing breaks the game, mostly marvel players (“OMFG nothin beats RC spiral arrow!!”).
And I’m sorry, but GGXX is a better game than CvS2. The characters are more balanced, its easier to get good enough to have fun, and goofing around in XX is a lot of fun. I mean damn, I know I SHOULDN’T be trying to quintuple-relaunch people with Millia (wasting all my meter and pin), but damn if it ain’t fun.
And the music wasn’t selected by the Capcom sound team. Thank all that is holy.

why all the hate on marvel? i think TRUE marvel players like cvs2, i know mixup does, look at wong and sanford, and i know combofiend plays everything, the list goes on
rc didn’t break the game, but it does make it suck a little and that turns people off. i hate the idea of that much invincibility. but as we all know, in the end, it just made you play that much better. double edged sword situation.
Who’s hating. I just said that people who scoff at roll cancel being all that CvS2 is about tend to be marvel players. Especially on these forums. I’m not saying that there’s no one who plays marvel that can appreciate CvS2.

Funnily enough, I just started playing this game recently. I get my ass kicked a lot by all my friends, but I love the game. It’s a very different feel from what I usually play, very controlled. I think it’s a good game for teaching you patience.

Jump straight up. Learn to play footsies, even ghetto CvS2 1-button footsies. JD. Parry. Throw. Alpha Counter. Counter Roll. Roll through. Dodge. Slide under fireballs or jump them. Activate, blow through.
There’s a LOT of ways to deal with RC, people are just too lazy to think. Heck, it’s harder to deal with Sakura s.RH than it is to deal with the majority of the good RCs in CvS2.

Well, even though I haven’t been playing it very long, I think the main problem people have with CvS2 is how different it is from the other major games out right now. A lot of games have really powerful stuff and gimmicks that you can abuse to get you out of tight spots. CvS2 is more of an old-school game in that you have to exert a lot more patience and pick your attacks very carefully. This can be a real turn-off to the younger players who want fast-paced action or who just want to be able to attack all the time without getting horridly raped for it. CvS2 won’t let you do that unless you REALLY know what you’re doing and even then you have to be careful. Very different. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
