I used to play SF2 and my main on that was Ken. So when i got SF4 (didn’t play any of the other SF games inbetween) I thought i’d carry on with Ken.
But then I went online and saw that everyone was using Ken/Ryu/Sagat and wanted to be different so started using Sakura as the moveset is quite similar.
Also like to play Gen sometimes but I lose even quicker with Gen than I do with Sakura

I don’t know what he is talking about… anyway I play her because she is centered around combos more so than most characters… she plays offensive and fast… and she is low tier. I don’t play high tier on purpose… Although Chun (My main) is starting to creep up to higher tiers.
Why?
Sakura isn’t my MAIN on SF4 (I mostly use Dictator/Boxer) but she has always been my favorite char in Street Fighter.
I like that she can be really good in the right hands, she is unassuming, and she’s low tier.
I used her a lot in SFA3
I like a challenge. I’m not saying if I main Sagat and Ryu I’ll be the new Mago and Daigo. I just like having to fight uphill battles.
I still play around with Ryu a lot. But I won’t enter him into a tourney.
Sounds like he needs to get his eyes checked (or he’s a xenophobe) 
Sakura is definately not bad to look at. She has a plain beauty which I like. Its modest and down to earth like her personality. I do wish she would get her hair done sometimes though. Maybe in SSF4 She will have an outfit with jeans on and long hair! It would be awesome to see her hair fly about like Cammy’s!
i think one of the greatest things about playing sakura is that you really have to learn how to play the game well to play her. she has no broke move that you can abuse so you have to rely on your skill. i think playing sakura will make you a better player in general
I couldn’t agree more.
After I seriously dedicated myself to being a good Sakura player, I went back and played with my other mains (Dictator, Boxer…added Guile in the process) and now see the game in a different light.
She’s a great all-around character because you have to know how to use mixups, how to space yourself, AND how to play defense. You have to learn these things with other characters, but I feel that Sakura’s strengths lie in the fact that she is unassuming, and that she is very balanced.
I just like Sakura because she is what she is. She has a dream, and she will do anything to fufill it. You can’t hate someone with such selfless dedication to better themselves.
I like to play sakura because getting a successful mix up is one of the most satisfying things in the game. I jizz everytime I see those little birds flying around my opponents… lol
Because she isn’t afraid to show us her barelyl legal ass.
Basically I don’t like fighting mirror matches all the time and since I work best with Ryu types and didn’t want to main Dan I settled on Sakura
hehe… the only thing is shes not a ryu type because her combos and moves cant be used like the rest of the shotos… ill assume you mean button configuration =)
That is indeed what I meant. I started off playing Ryu, moved on to Ken and finally settled on Sakura. I play Dan occasionally but generally only on player matches.
I first started with her as a kid. When I was like 11 we would like 3miles to play alpha 2,and here she was. Know one I new picked any girl chrecters so I started to play as her And have stuck with her ever since. My bro showed me a ad for Sreet Fighter 4 and there she was and so I bought a 360 and a the game at the time of realese. It’s very frustating to play with her but when u win championchip tourney with her it feels better then winning with any one else I hope things are even better in super
